Chapter 40 - Pay Points to Protect Someone, or Let Points Decrease for the Class?

This situation was truly special. Because the evidence was already very clear, there were only two paths that could be taken. Either accept the expulsion of students which would result in a 300 class point reduction, or pay 5 million personal points to settle peacefully.

Logically, spending 5 million points was far more advantageous. However, Class D didn't have that much money.

For the sake of her ambition to rise to the upper classes, Sae was truly desperate. She even intended to dig into her own pocket for 5 million points just to save Yamauchi.

(Truly foolish.)

Ryunosuke watched all this coldly. In his heart, he already felt very disappointed in Sae.

(This woman is really stupid. What does it matter if class points are reduced? After exams and various events this month, Class D's points won't even reach 100. Why waste that much money for such a small loss? Truly not worth it.)

On the other side, the situation in Class B also wasn't going smoothly. 5 million personal points wasn't a small amount. Currently, it hadn't even been two full months since school started; even if they didn't eat and drink at all, one class's balance was at most only around 7 million points. Spending 5 million points meant draining Class B's entire wealth. Of course, the majority of students disagreed.

Kohei tried hard to save Yahiko. However, the students in his class were divided in two; about half supported him, while the rest were Arisu's faction.

Arisu's lips curved, forming a meaningful smile.

"Katsuragi-kun, spending 5 million personal points to save Totsuka-kun is a very disadvantageous transaction. Allow me to reject this unreasonable agreement."

Kohei immediately objected. "This isn't about profit or loss. If Totsuka is expelled, class points will be reduced by 300. When that happens, it will be very difficult to catch up to Class A again. Please think about the bigger picture, Sakayanagi-san."

Arisu tapped her cane lightly, then stepped closer to Kohei. Her sharp gaze like a hungry wolf locked onto Kohei's figure, contrasting with her body that appeared frail, as if she could swallow the man alive.

Her lips smiled thinly as she said to Kohei.

"Katsuragi-kun, have you ever heard the saying 'Without destruction, there will be no construction'? It means, if we don't destroy the old, we can't build a new order. Likewise with cutting off one's own hand to survive."

"Which is more important? Just 300 class points or 5 million personal points? It seems I don't need to explain further, you surely understand yourself."

Kohei immediately fell silent. Simple logic like that, how could he not understand? He just didn't want to admit it.

Seeing him fall silent, Arisu stopped her attack. "Let's go, Kamuro, Morishita. Let Katsuragi-kun contemplate for a moment."

When Arisu turned to leave, she realized one person was missing.

"Hmm?" Arisu looked toward Masumi on her left side. "Where is Morishita-san?"

Masumi with a flat face pointed in a certain direction. Arisu turned and saw Ai acting strangely.

"Yo, my friend, Kagami~"

Ai approached Ryunosuke and gave him a tight hug. Ryunosuke also responded with very good cooperation.

"How have you been lately, my AIBO?"

Ai's eyes sparkled, feeling their frequency matched perfectly. She immediately took out the Three Egyptian Gods cards and showed them off in front of Ryunosuke.

Ryunosuke was instantly stunned seeing them. "Amazing!"

"Slifer the Sky Dragon."

"Obelisk the Tormentor."

"The Winged Dragon of Ra."

Ryunosuke was so shocked he stepped back several steps, putting on an unbelieving face. "You managed to collect all three? How?"

Ai showed a proud expression while waving the cards. "Want to play? I can lend them to you for a few days. I also have Mutou Yugi's Dark Magician. Even the rarest Dark Magician Girl I have."

Ryunosuke's eyes sharpened. "Do you have Holactie the Creator of Light?"

Instantly Ai's spirit wilted. "Don't have it... That card is too rare, I haven't been able to get it. Moreover that card only exists one in the world, its price has reached 38 million yen. Even the collector's edition Blue-Eyes White Dragon alone costs 30 million. My allowance isn't enough to buy it..."

Ryunosuke almost vomited blood.

(What does she mean "my allowance isn't enough"? That means outside you're a rich woman! Damn.)

Arisu approached while leaning on her cane with a faint smile. "This gentleman truly has great methods, able to make my assistant this dazed. She even ignores her master whom she should serve."

Ai and Ryunosuke simultaneously looked at Arisu with unfriendly gazes.

"You don't understand the pure friendship between us." They both said in unison.

The corner of Arisu's lips twitched slightly. "I indeed don't understand your chuunibyou friendship, because I'm not a chuunibyou sufferer."

Arisu stood right in front of Ryunosuke.

"This time you won't intervene?" She asked with a meaningful tone.

Ryunosuke's lips curved forming a handsome smile. "I will intervene, but not now."

"Oh?" Arisu's interest was immediately ignited. She played with her cane casually. "In that case, I want to see... how Akasaka-kun will resolve this crisis..."

"Rest assured, my method won't disappoint you."

Arisu and Ryunosuke looked at each other and smiled. The two looked like old friends who hadn't met in a long time, chatting intimately.

The people around them whispered, especially Kohei from Class B and the Class D students who kept watching them.

Facing the gaze of many people, Arisu didn't care at all. She gently raised her small smooth hand and said to Ryunosuke.

"My legs aren't strong enough to walk far, are you willing to escort me back to the dormitory?"

Ryunosuke glanced toward her two bodyguards, Masumi and Ai, and he knew that Arisu wanted to talk with him alone. So he agreed, placed his hand, and held Arisu's small hand.

"With pleasure, Sakayanagi-san."

Thus, in front of many people, Ryunosuke held the girl's hand and left the location openly.

Yamauchi snorted dissatisfiedly. "Why whenever there's a pretty girl, he's always the one who gets her? I don't accept it! I'm far more handsome than him! How can this be!"

Meanwhile, Arisu and Ryunosuke had found a café outside and sat down to begin an in-depth conversation.

Arisu called the waiter and ordered a cup of Cappuccino, then looked at Ryunosuke.

"What do you want to order? I'm treating."

Ryunosuke also wasn't shy and ordered the most expensive menu. "Please bring one of the most expensive Flat White, thank you."

He returned the menu book to the waiter.

Arisu rolled her eyes sweetly. "You're really not shy, immediately ordering the most expensive."

Ryunosuke spread his hands with an innocent face. "Didn't you yourself tell me not to be shy? Since you're treating, of course I have to order the most expensive."
