A brewing conflict

The winds whirled atop a mountain, seemingly following the every motion of a certain figure that stood with his eyes closed. He lifted up his arms, and the direction of the winds shifted upwards, they only got violent with each movement that the figure made.

After a while of deep concentration, the man opened his eyes. His eyes seemed to be emitting a white glow that raged intensely. His pupils couldn't be seen, the only visible content of his eyes were the white and godly glow that burnt like fire.

The man walked forward with precise steps, the whirls of winds followed his motion in accordance as he spoke.

"Come forth."

In a split second, the air began to distort, as if succumbing to his every will. The space before him changed its composition, it rippled, almost like a distorted wave that had been manipulated with.

The next instant, the space before him tore open, visible fabrics of space could be seen opening up, revealing something underneath. The air around moved violently, as they were forcefully pulled into the tear that had just been made.

The man stood with a calm look, clearly unbothered by the cataclysmic event that unfolded before him. He watched as the tear became wider, until it was finally large enough for someone to pass through.

He watched as two silhouettes emerged from the other side of the tear, the more they got closer, the more a certain curve on his lips because visible.

The two figures finally emerged from the rift, both floating majestically towards the man. They seemed to possess the same physical appearance as the man that opened the rift, their features looked similar, almost like they were of the same race.

The most outstanding feature was the fact that the two figures also had eyes that glowed fiercely, raging with energy. Their eyes weren't white, it glowed with a white beam of light.

"Horus, Hades, it's nice to finally talk to the both of you after two hundred years," the man spoke with authority, "at some point, I thought that you had been killed by the demons already."

Horus stepped forward, bowing slightly before he spoke, "you know that's impossible, Apollo. I'm quite the unkillable beast."

A small chuckle left Apollo's mouth, and even then the air around him raged with a pulsating speed. His expression suddenly turned hard, he turned, looking towards Hades.

"I take it that you were both successful in the energy transfer?"

Hades inches closer. He bent his waist to a 90 degree angle, bowing towards Apollo with a respectful tone, "yes. Although it seems like the artifact appears to be strained, but I think it'll survive the last energy transfer."

Apollo smiled, "then let's get on with it. The faster we do this, the sooner we rid the universe of these demons."

Hades outstretched his hand, and the next instant, a bright beam of light appeared above his palm. The beam of light dimmed slowly, and a certain object could be seen materializing.

It was a skull. A black skull that seemed to absorb the light around it. Hades lowered his hand, leaving the artifact hovering about in the air.

Apollo reached out to the artifact, a glow could be seem around his arm. White lines of light beams could be seen escaping his arms, heading towards the hovering skull. Apollo's arm glowed with a blinding light as his energy left his being.

The white beams made contact with the skull. The skull reacted instantly, pulsating with a red glow in its eyes. It absorbed the energy coming forth from Apollo, the more energy it absorbed, the more intensified the glow around its eyes got.

"It's working," Hades said as he looked at the energy transfer intently, "when it's ready, the artifact will be placed in the red space. It will replicate itself, spreading across the space, and when the maximum replication has been reached, they will all explode."

"They will explode, releasing our celestial energy across the red space. When this happens, any demon that comes across the celestial energy will die instantly. This way, we ensure that no demon will be left roaming around the universe."

Apollo continued transferring his energy into the artifact. He felt the energy escaping from his being, the glow around his eyes lessened slightly, almost unnoticeable.

The artifact glowed with a raging power, pulsating like a ticking time bomb. The next instant, the artifact began to vibrate rapidly. Apollo noticed the sudden change, and with a curious gaze, he stared at Hades.

Hades also noticed the intense vibrations that the skull emitted, "this is strange. It didn't happen when Horus and I made our energy transfer. I think your energy is just too powerful for the artifact to handle."

"Then what are you suggesting," Apollo asked. He could feel the artifact slowly rejecting his energy.

Horus stepped in as he spoke, "it means you have to stop."

Apollo's expression darkened, but he still kept the energy transfer active, "The artifact should be able to contain my energy. It must be able to contain my energy."

The vibrations intensified by the second, the red glow pulsated with instability. All of a sudden, the vibrations stopped. This brought a smile to Apollo's face, but the smile was short-lived.

Cracks began to appear all over the skull, and escaping from the cracks were white beams of condensed light. The cracks got larger, until the force finally gave in.

The skull exploded, releasing a deafening sound that traveled for miles. Beams of white energy, exploded out of the skull, consuming everything in it's path. The mountain top disintegrated instantly, the air vaporized, and space itself seemed to be getting distorted.

Apollo was quick to react. He released an energy of his own, decelerating the speed of the exploded energy before it reached him. He could feel the strain on his body as he tried to slow down the energy that threatened to destroy everything in it's path.

"I need help!" Apollo yelled, gritting his teeth.

Horus and Hades raised their hands, releasing waves of white energy forth from their being. The combination was enough to slow down the raging energy, but it still wasn't enough to keep it at bay.

"If we let go, the energy is going to destroy this planet, and the next, and the next. We can't have the white space getting destroyed as a result of our exploded energy," Hades said, trying to explain the situation.

Horus stared at Hades as a thought clicked on his mind, "why don't we open a rift to the red space and dump the energy in. It'll cause series of destructions in the red space, thus making it easier for us to eradicate them in the future."

Apollo released more celestial energy, the mountain top seemed like a star was atop it. The whole surrounding illuminated with a white glow that could be seem from kilometres away.

With the last bit of concentration he managed to muster, Apollo focused a bit of energy above him. Slowly, a rift began to open right above them.

"NOW!" Apollo yelled.

The three beings directed the momentum of the exploded energy above them simultaneously. The raging energy flew upwards, heading directly into the rift.

The energy was wild, raging, and destructive. It beamed towards the rift whole and entirely tearing the rift even more open.

Apollo directed his energy towards the rift, he closed it, sealing the rift shut with the energy on the other side.

Apollo breathed heavily, trying to catch his breath, "the energy is now in the red zone. It will kill most of the demon armies, weakening their defense."

"Now it's time… for the final war."
