Chapter 4 - Chapter 4 Werewolf

Lunar grabs Solar's hand, and takes him to shift from the fountain to the fir forest.

Lunar: Tell me how are you feeling?

Solar: I feel extremely energetic like I could feel there's an endless source of energy within my body; I feel extremely strong like I could do shift shape, that allows me to transform into a huge wolf; I feel extremely angry like I couldn't resist my desire of killing my enemy.

Lunar: If you couldn't resist your desire of killing your enemy, why don't you raise your dog's claw upon your queen? Werewolf was born to fight with vampire. I am the queen of vampires. You are a new-born werewolf. How could you resist your desire of killing your enemy in front of you.

Solar: I don't see there's any enemies here. You might be a vampire, but I know there's something good within your heart.

Lunar laughs, as if she just heard the most hilarious news.

Lunar: Hilarious. You said there's something good within someone who's recognized as the most despicable vampire. Are you kidding me?

Solar: You are not the most despicable vampire. In my eyes, you're the best teacher that I have ever met in my life. It's you who have shown me another world, which is the world of magic; it's you who have crafted me my first magic wand, which is a valuable ticket to the world of magic; it's you who have activated the power within my blood, which is the werewolf's power, that allows me to transform into a huge wolf.

Lunar: I just use you. I just use you to break this dog's cage, created by your ancestor.

Solar: You help me to be a great wizard. I help you to break the seal here. It sounds fair. It's more like a deal between us.

Lunar: You have become a werewolf with extremely power. But still you need to learn how to control and use it. It's like a kid who suddenly has extremely strong power. That kid might be stronger than muggles. But it doesn't make him a superhero.

Solar: Speaking of superhero, it reminds me of my answer to the teacher's question in my childhood. She asked what are you gonna do with your precious and wild one life, when you are grown up?

Some said being a doctor to treat patients; some said being a teacher to teach students; some said being a president to govern the country; and I said being a superhero to protect the world.

When my classmates heard my answer to the teacher's question, they all laughed out loud. I know how childish my answer might seem, but it's not them, nor even me who could predict that I could have a chance to be a superhero one day.

Lunar: Childhood is not a period from a certain age to another certain age; it is a process of growth from a childish state to grow up into a mature state. When one grows up into a mature state, he knows he should push away all those childish things.

Solar: I totally agree with you. But most of children would grow up into a mature state, and push away all those childish things, since the day they went to junior high school. It's tight schedule and study stress that required them to spend more time on study than on their own pleasures.

Lunar: It's the daughter's duty and family's expectation that required me to push away all those childish things, since the day I could know things. Through my family's history, I understood what's my destiny, to be the future queen or to marry the chosen one.

Solar: Your childhood seems as short as fireworks. Mine is a little longer than yours, but still it seems as short as the freshness of spring flowers.

Lunar: At least for children, to be childish is to be happy. I wonder how childish you might be in the childhood. May you please picture one day of your childhood for me?

Solar: One day of my childhood started with my mom's call, and ended with my dad's bedtime story. In the morning, I went out with my skateboard after breakfast, boarding at the skateboarding park with my friends; in the afternoon, I went to the football field after lunch, playing the football with my friends; in the evening, I stayed at home after dinner, watching TV with my dog.

Lunar: It seems that you were much happier than king's children in the childhood. One day of my childhood started with morning prayers, and ended with evening prayers. In the morning, I studied with my tutor, learning languages; in the midday, I dined dinner with family and guests, feeling the weight of my future pressing in; in the afternoon, I stayed with the queen, learning embroidery, listening to mother's story; in the evening, I stayed with the king, listening to their trade business.

Solar: The memories of childhood that I once forgot, but recall again, when the power within my blood awakes. I know I could do shape shift, that allows me to transform into a huge wolf, but I have no ideas how to do that.

Lunar: If you were born in a werewolf clan, you should have been taught how by now. But don't worry, I know a method, that's what we are here for.

Lunar and Solar take a walk in the forest, talking about dream and childhood, arriving the cliff, where the moon casts a reflection in the river surface under the cliff.

Solar: Howling at the moon?

Lunar: It wouldn't be necessary. You just need to do, as I command. Should I tell you jump off the cliff, you jump off the cliff; should I tell you to sit down, you sit down; should I tell you to swing your dog's tail, you swing your dog's tail. Do you understand?

Solar: Yes, Miss Tudor.

Lunar: Now! Jump!

Lunar leads him to the edge of the cliff, and kicks him off the cliff.

Solar dives in the river in human form, and floats up the surface in wolf form with silver wolf furs under moonlight.
