A few days passed, and the long-awaited peace conference finally began.
A massive, multi-layered barrier enveloped the entire Kuoh Academy, glowing faintly under the night sky.
Guards from all three factions, angels, fallen angels, and devils stood at every entrance and perimeter point. The tension in the air was thick enough to choke on. One wrong word, one sudden movement, and the fragile truce could shatter.
In the central conference room, the leaders of the Three Factions sat around a large round table.
Michael, the calm and dignified leader of the angels. Azazel, the Governor General of the Fallen Angels, lounging with his usual smirk.
Serafall Leviathan. Sirzechs Lucifer, composed and regal as always.
Their attendants and guards stood behind them, watching everything with sharp eyes.
Rias and her peerage entered first, walking in with measured steps. Silas trailed a few paces behind, hands in his pockets, looking bored. He was immediately stopped by a line of guards at the door.
Sirzechs raised a hand before anyone could speak.
"He may enter," he said calmly. "I would like to hear his verdict as well."
The guards stepped aside.
Silas walked in without a word. He didn't bother standing formally. With a casual wave of his hand, he created a comfortable black chair out of thin air and dropped into it, leaning back like he was at a casual lounge.
The leaders glanced at him once, then continued as if it were normal.
Rias stepped forward and gave a clear, concise report about Kokabiel's attack, the stolen Excalibur fragments, and the battle that followed.
When she finished, Sirzechs turned to Silas. "Do you have anything to add?"
Silas yawned lightly and leaned further back in his chair. "I don't really feel like it," he said.
Serafall giggled behind her hand. Sirzechs clenched his fist slightly. Azazel just smirked wider, clearly entertained.
"I'm sure Vali can explain everything," Silas added lazily. "Since he was the one who took care of Kokabiel."
Vali stepped forward and gave his version of events , carefully leaving out the part where Silas had completely dominated the fallen angel.
When everything was said and done, Azazel leaned forward with a sigh.
"I apologize for Kokabiel's reckless actions. He acted without the Grigori's approval. We have no intention of breaking the peace."
The conversation then shifted to the Sacred Gears Azazel had been collecting. He explained his research goals, but it didn't go far he simply stated he wanted peace between the factions.
After a whole lot of political talk and careful wording, the meeting seemed to be reaching a calm conclusion.
Then, without warning, the entire barrier surrounding the academy shattered. A group of masked attackers burst in from multiple directions, members of the Chaos Brigade. Their chaotic energy flooded the room as they launched a surprise assault.
The conference room erupted into battle.
Silas remained seated in his chair for a few moments longer, watching the sudden explosion of chaos with a bored expression.
'Finally,' he thought. 'Something interesting.' But after a few seconds, he sighed. 'Still… there's genuinely nothing to do here. Beside Vali fighting Issei. He needs that development, so I'll let him have it.'
He stood up, created a bag of popcorn out of thin air, and casually walked out of the conference room. A few steps later, he leaped onto the roof of the main building and sat down on the edge, legs dangling, munching popcorn as he watched the fight unfold below like it was a live movie.
It was very interesting.
Especially when Vali activated his Divide ability and threatened to halve everything, including Rias's bust. Issei lost his mind completely, going full berserk mode with a roar that echoed across the entire academy.
Silas nearly choked on his popcorn from laughing.
"Man, I forget how funny this show was," he muttered to himself, grinning as he tossed another kernel into his mouth.
The battle raged on Issei pushing himself beyond his limits, Vali testing him, the others fighting off the Chaos Brigade grunts. It was chaotic, and exactly the kind of spectacle Silas had been waiting for.
Eventually, the fight reached its conclusion.
Bikou, the monkey yokai, appeared in a flash and pulled Vali back. Before they left, the two of them suddenly teleported up to the roof, appearing right beside Silas.
"Our boss wanted to know if you'd like to join us?" Bikou asked, leaning on his staff with a cheeky grin.
Everyone on the ground turned their heads toward the roof, watching the exchange.
Silas didn't even look surprised. He tossed another piece of popcorn into his mouth.
"Who, Ophis?" he asked. "Tell that cat girl to come herself and I might think about it."
He was joking, of course. Bikou smirked, clearly amused. He twirled his staff once, creating a magic circle beneath their feet.
The two of them vanished in a blinding flash of light. Just like that, the Chaos Brigade's surprise attack was over.
The academy grounds fell quiet again, save for the sounds of heavy breathing and the occasional groan from exhausted fighters. The barrier slowly repaired itself as the leaders began assessing the damage and the aftermath.
Silas stayed on the roof for a little longer, finishing his popcorn as he stared at the night sky.
'Not a bad show,' he thought.
The next moment, they all gathered on the roof, surrounding Silas like he was the main suspect in an interrogation.
Michael was the first to speak, his voice calm but carrying the weight of an archangel.
"What did they say to you?"
Silas didn't answer right away. He slowly stood up from his chair, stretching his arms overhead like the whole situation bored him. The leaders waited, tension thick in the air.
"I don't feel like telling you," he said simply.
The response landed like a slap. Most of the group looked at him with clear suspicion. Sirzechs stepped forward, placing a firm hand on Silas's shoulder.
"You better speak, boy," he said, his tone low and commanding.
Silas's smirk widened. Without hesitation, he pushed Sirzechs' hand off his shoulder, forcing the Maou to take a step back.
"Hey, break it up!" Serafall said quickly, jumping between them with her staff raised. "Fighting amongst ourselves won't help!"
Sirzechs glared at Silas, barely holding back his irritation.
"No use fighting someone as weak as you anyway," he said coldly. "For your sake, let's hope you won't betray us. Because if you make my sister cry… you're dead."
Silas wasn't even listening anymore. He turned around and vanished in a blink, reappearing instantly back at the manor.
He walked into the living room, dropped onto the couch, and let out a long sigh.
'I can't wait to fight him,' he thought, a small, excited grin forming on his face.
One thing about Silas, he didn't prefer to start fights. Which is why he let this slide for now. But his patience was the only thing that had a limit.
Back on the roof, the leaders were left staring at the empty space where he had been standing. The tension in the air didn't fade.
Rias sighed softly. "He's… not the type to explain himself," she said quietly.
Akeno smiled beside her. "That's part of his charm."
The conference continued, but the shadow of Silas's unpredictable nature lingered over everything.
