Chapter 21 - Chapter 21 The Golden Generation, Bibi Dong's Questioning.

Chapter 21 The Golden Generation, Bibi Dong's Questioning.

The three children entered the restaurant, their petite figures catching the attention of the proprietress.

"Little ones, what would you like to eat?"

Yan looked up at the price list, swallowing hard.

This meal would probably wipe out all his savings.

However, to make Na'er happy, he was willing to risk it!

"Ahem! Three servings of golden fried rice! And..."

The proprietress, seeing his embarrassed expression, couldn't help but cover her mouth and chuckle.

After collecting the money, she planned to order more.

Meanwhile, Jiang Nian glanced at the three children with different hair colors; the oldest probably didn't even reach his chest.

Red hair, silver hair, orange hair...

Could it be them?

The Golden Generation of the Spirit Hall?

Jiang Nian looked them over with interest, finally fixing his gaze on the little girl who looked like a porcelain doll.

"Little Jiang brother..." Jin Yue'er looked at him with a pout, obstructing his view.

"What's wrong?" Jiang Nian scratched his head, thinking, "I only glanced at her a couple of times..."

"It's nothing." The wolf-tailed girl lowered her head and silently stuffed food into her mouth, glancing back curiously as well.

The three children walked to the table opposite them. The red-haired boy was extremely excited, making promises to the orange-haired girl every now and then.

Looking to the side, a hint of envy flashed in his eyes.

"Na'er, one day we'll eat like this every day!"

Yan patted his chest and promised, earning a compliment in return.

Then his lips curled into a wide grin.

Jiang Nian was quite interested in this scene, wondering if the three of them had met so soon?

And Yan, this simp, had actually been doing it since he was so young.

Xie Yue and Hu Liena also noticed the two older brothers and sisters opposite them and couldn't help but feel envious.

They had lived in an orphanage since childhood, and had only seen this food before, never tasted it. They couldn't help but swallow hard.

However, in Wuhun City, they knew how to observe etiquette.

Those two were clearly of noble birth, and they dared not offend them.

Jin Yue'er touched her stomach, and seeing the three of them reminded her of her own illness.

She hadn't expected that anyone could live in such poverty, their clothes all patched and mended…

Oh right, wasn't Brother Jiang also from an orphanage?

Jiang Nian noticed her staring at him, feeling a mixture of pity, admiration, and other emotions… well, let's call it a pie chart.

"Yue'er, just say what's on your mind."

Jin Yue'er propped her chin up, leaned closer, and whispered, "Brother Jiang, we can't finish this anyway, there's still a lot left untouched, why don't we call them over?"

Jiang Nian looked at her with some surprise, nodded slightly, and smiled, "You decide."

"Okay!" Jin Yue'er raised an eyebrow, got off the chair, and walked over to the three of them.

The eldest, Yan, immediately stood up, nervously but forcing himself to ask, "What are you doing?!"

"Don't be afraid, your older sister and brother have a lot of untouched food here. It would be a waste if we couldn't finish it, so why don't we eat together?"

Jin Yue'er's smile was warm, like the spring equinox in March.

Her soft voice instantly pierced Yan's psychological defenses.

His face flushed, and he awkwardly scratched his head, "No...it's not really appropriate..."

Jin Yue'er's moon-like eyes curved upwards, and she said softly, "It's okay."

Hearing her say that, the three of them subconsciously swallowed.

They couldn't help it; they were too greedy.

Eating is not a crime!

A square table, the three boys each sat in one corner, while Jin Yue'er and Hu Liena sat in the other.

Looking at the table full of steaming food, Yan suddenly felt that even the golden fried rice was incredibly delicious!

Is this the life of the rich?

I'm so envious!

The three were initially quite reserved, but after observing how easygoing the two older siblings were, they relaxed.

"Na'er, which orphanage did you say you were in?" Jin Yue'er's eyes flashed with surprise.

Hu Liena glanced at the handsome Jiang Nian out of the corner of her eye, then lowered her head and whispered, "Sunshine Orphanage..."

Now it was his turn to be stunned.

Sunshine Orphanage... wasn't that where he lived before he was six?

But after being taken in as a disciple by Bibi Dong, he hadn't been back many times.

He hadn't expected that the three of them were still connected to him.

Had they transferred there in the last two years? Or were they too young to notice before?

Jin Yue'er smiled, a touch of tenderness in her eyes: "Little Jiang Nian also came from there, you're quite destined."

Hearing this, the three were taken aback.

They couldn't believe that the elegant Jiang Nian had the same background as them.

"Hmm, it's been two years since I've been back..."

Hu Liena blinked her eyes, her voice soft and sweet. "I think I remember Brother Jiang... Two years ago, you were the only one innate full-strength soul in the Sunshine Orphanage. Now, many people look up to you as a role model."

Jiang Nian paused, then smiled.

"Really? I'll go back and visit in a couple of days."

Hu Liena's eyes lit up with joy as she munched on her meat, her fair cheeks puffed out like cheeks.

Soon after, the five of them, having eaten and drunk their fill, parted ways.

Jiang Nian bought each of them a new outfit, considering it an early investment.

As dusk fell, the two said goodbye, and he headed towards the Saintess Palace, carrying Bibi Dong's favorite dinner.

"Knock, knock, knock~"

After knocking three times, a cold voice came from inside.

Jiang Nian's heart skipped a beat. Having lived with Bibi Dong for two years, he could tell what emotions she was feeling just by listening to her voice.

This situation looked terrible.

He instinctively touched his backside and bravely stepped inside.

"Huh? Who told you to step in with your right foot first?" Jiang Nian sensed something was wrong: "Buhao!"

A few minutes later. He rubbed his not-too-sore butt and chuckled sheepishly, "Teacher, I don't think I did anything wrong, did I?"

Bibi Dong smiled coldly, her long fingers tapping on the table as she looked down at the little brat.

"It took almost an hour to eat?"

"I'd think you were on a date~"

Jiang Nian was immediately drenched in sweat: "Some things delayed me, but I promise I won't do it again next time."

Bibi Dong grabbed his neck with annoyance and said coldly, "Remember, you are now my disciple. Don't associate with those who aren't Soul Masters, lest it affect your cultivation."

"Your talent is quite good, but diligently and wholeheartedly focusing on cultivation is the most correct approach."

"When your cultivation reaches the title level, or when you're older, then think about other things... understand?"

Jiang Nian's face flushed slightly, and he felt short of breath, so he quickly nodded.

"I understand! Teachers are the most important!"

"I should be more filial to my teacher!"

Hearing this, she let go of his hand.

She glanced at him indifferently.

"You still have spare money to buy clothes for those three kids? Looks like your living expenses are too abundant..."
