Chapter 13 - 13

The evening air was cool, the street lamps casting soft light across the small festival they'd stumbled upon during the trip. Students milled around, games, laughter, the smell of fried snacks filling the air. Jay and Keifer walked side by side, but the air between them was… different. Electric.

Keifer's hand rested lightly on her waist, possessive enough that everyone passing by could feel it. A smirk tugged at his lips as he whispered, "Everyone sees this, Jay. All mine. No one else."

Jay's eyes flicked up to him, lips curving. "Oh? You think showing off is your only talent?"

He raised an eyebrow, amused. "Isn't it?"

She stepped a little closer, brushing her hand against his chest, deliberately grazing his shoulder, just enough to make him stiffen. "Maybe you forgot someone's already watching you closely," she murmured, voice playful, teasing, while glancing around at the students nearby.

Keifer's jaw tightened—half surprise, half thrill. "Jay—" he started, but she cut him off with a sly grin.

She leaned in, whispering against his ear, "I think you love being out here just as much as I love teasing you. Admit it."

His eyes darkened, pupils blown wide, but he didn't pull away. Instead, he slid one hand from her waist to her hip, pressing just a touch harder, letting the crowd feel it without crossing the line.

"You're impossible," he muttered, voice low and dangerous.

"And you love it," she shot back, her hand trailing down his chest teasingly, lingering over his jacket button, making him shift ever so slightly. "Don't pretend you don't."

Keifer chuckled, a low, satisfied sound. Then, seeing a group of students glancing their way, he tilted his head, smirk wide.

"Everyone," he said, loud enough for a few nearby students to hear, "look properly. This is my girlfriend. Beautiful, smart… untouchable. Got that?"

Jay laughed, leaning in to press a quick kiss against his cheek—not too much, just enough to make the moment theirs.

The effect? Instant. Eyes turned, whispers flew, and every girl nearby burned with jealousy. Ella, standing a little apart, could only cross her arms, cheeks flushed, glaring helplessly as Jay and Keifer walked as one—a perfect, teasing, possessive pair.

Jay gave him a little shove, playful but commanding, as they moved through the crowd. "See? Showing off isn't your only talent either."

Keifer caught her wrist, spinning her slightly into his chest, and whispered, "I wouldn't have it any other way."

Her grin widened. "Good," she murmured, "because I plan to keep reminding you… everywhere."

He leaned down, lips brushing her temple, just lightly, a show of ownership for the crowd—but tender for her alone. "Everywhere," he agreed.

And as they walked side by side, the whispers, glances, and jealousy trailing behind them only made it sweeter.
