Chapter 1 - The Start (1)

"Oh Lord of Freedom..., please—"

In that moment, the last prayer had come.

Was it actually the last prayer? Hope it is.

For past 10 months, I have been struggling. Every minute of thinking about them makes my heart pound quick.

And my pillow would be stained with tears.

"I'm a bad writer..."

Technically I was.

Then proceed to write it again and again.

As if I had a love-hate to myself and my surroundings.

And right now... My eyes were closed, fallen.

"I can think, but I can't speak"

The feeling of a burden sicks me to the heart.

I felt as if something had sucked me down under an ocean. It was as heavy as a metal.

Was it a metal ball? Was it some metal chains? I don't know.

I was falling in motion. The golden light from my room disappeared through the fog.

My fingers were still, unmoved. Attached towards each other as intertwined, my hand was pressed to my chin. Seemingly, praying yet not.

The hearing of a heartbeat around me. The heartbeat sounded deep and... Fear.

Was it mine? Neither you nor I know.

Withing the seconds, I felt my back pressing something, possibly a bed.

Was that a dream or is this the following dream? My head kind of hurt from the previous part, it felt like drowning in silent. Unmoved, just there. I had my mouth untaped, yet I didn't call for anyone.

And I had my hands untied; I didn't try to reach out what was there despite being scared of drowning.

[...]

My eyes slowly flattered opened, flicking from the light through the curtains. I reached out to touch and blocked my eyes from the light until…

The realization came up from my head, my eyes widened.

My hand is… It is big!

The feeling is different, too.

Where am I?

I immediately sat up from the bed, my hand slipped down to the bed. The place is different from where I originally was, too.

The place seemed to be a wooden house, with organized furniture…?

I gazed around the room for clues, definitely no.

I'm not dreaming, am I?

I looked at my hands, they were not my hands at all… Did I turn into a guy?!

I looked at my body to confirm the calculation.

I really did turn into a guy…

No, not yet. Do not jump into that yet.

I got up from the bed, went straight to look for a mirror.

Yeah, of course I would go to the bathroom, who wouldn't?

The moment I stumbled upon that bathroom to see myself in the mirror, my eyes widened even more, my jaw dropped to astonishment.

"Ho—How…?!"

After the words slipped through my lips, I felt cringe from my stutter. I closed my mouth from embarrassment.

Before it slowly touches my cheeks, touching my face in disbelief.

Not only did I have turned into a guy… I got transmigrated into my character's body?! Or is it also in the Isekai genre… What's the difference between those two?

"This is impossible…!"

I couldn't believe my eyes.

If I was transmigrated… Does it mean I have to endure it all…?

"Nooo~"

I covered my face with my hands out of embarrassment, and fear. thinking of the things that would happen in the future.

How am I going to make the story feel the same if he's not acting the same as how I have written him???

Does it mean that I'd be able to recreate the story?

It'd be great yet sucks at the same time…

How am I going to look up my own story when he doesn't have a phone?

Perhaps getting ready wouldn't hurt my feelings after knowing he doesn't have a phone.

"Phones are so expensive!"

"Because if it wasn't for your lazy ass, you would actually afford a HuaWXX brand of phone…"

Mocking his original line in the story… Where did this "annoyed" feeling come from?

Although it is comforting to know I'll be meeting them soon… And she will be doomed after I meet her!

But when will I meet her?

As long as she doesn't start going around all self-centered of herself, then I'll be in peace.

But of course, she's one selfish kid.

Hmm…

Slowly after, my legs shakingly came out of the bathroom with coldness filling up my skin. The towel was wrapped around my chest.

My face was lightened up yet uncomfortable from seeing his body.

I was grateful for giving him both male and a female body.

"I'm so creative"

A line that I would say to myself, before starting the hobby of writing.

I looked up at his book for information.

And unfortunately? Nothing.

Just the name at the beginning of the book written with his name.

Xiao Liu.

It was originally supposed to be "Liu Xiao", although it would sound similar to my little brother's class.

I didn't know what I was thinking. Putting up the numbers with Chinese character together, wouldn't that be quite cool?

—it is raining, so I should bring an umbrella. It is still calming, even in the sounds of heavy rain.

As a few steps trace with the rain flowing on the ground, the beautiful flowers are harvested from the sides—I went down the street to buy some bread at a bakery, it has been a while since I've eaten bread.

As usual, the crowd was noisy. Xiao Liu would normally walk down the path.

"Where's the bakery again?"

I looked around the street, I turned in every direction.

I continued to walk, perhaps from a distance.

I looked to the sides and back, simply looking around like a lost child.

"Hey-"

A voice suddenly appeared behind me, shocking me. I turned to see it was an old man, holding on to a ticket in his hand.

"Would you like to attend my daughter's happy birthday party?"

"I'll give you this ticket for free."

His face was pure and generous for the ticket to be given away. Although it was a golden ticket, I knew—a sudden pain through my head, as if electric.

"Argh… My head hurts...!" I pondered. i wouldn't admit it to the old man.

My eyebrows arched an inch, my sight was starting to black out until—the old man had spoken again,

"Young man, are you okay?"

I gazed at him, widened.

Mayer Louis.

Names, name? It appears right on his face. He had no reaction with my suffocation.

"Darn, this old man!"

My head hurts...

Is it a headache?

"Hold on."

That voice wasn't mine either…

Is it because of me?

That the system had changed?

Perchance.

I gazed up at the old man, again. He looked more worried now.

"I will."

The words came out so casually, as if automatic.

The old man still had that generous smile on his face, while handing the ticket to me.

Was it all an illusion?

He was now excited to know I had agreed, and replied.

"Thank you! He—here, for free..!"

"The happy birthday party will be held on 7 tonight."

His voice sounded shaky, was he that excited?

"Ahaa… Thanks…"

An awkward smile slowly appeared on my face as I held the ticket, waving my hand after he had walked away.

I was sweating, actually.

My head was still hurt as ever, too.

"Where's the bakeryyy..?"

I thought, my head turning around to the distance.

If I can't find the bakery, I'm going to lose it!

Hm—oh, the bakery…! It is a few steps away, how fortunate. I'm just glad that I found it without being lost…

So I entered the bakery, an old lady was behind the counter, carefully watching my movements as I went to look for my favorite bread.

Perhaps, I could buy the bread Xiao Liu likes? I've been dying to try it.

It is bread with sprouted grain, isn't it? I remember he also has a liking for boule breads, too, and when they sold out, he would usually buy any bread.

"..."

After the old lady had put them in a paper bag, there I went out of the bakery. Perhaps I could share some bread with the people at the party?

I walked through the crowd, people were selling and buying at the square. Noisy place, I'm used to that.

"Come here, we have lots of things you may want!"

The sellers would say that to attract more customers, nevertheless… They're greedy for money, is what I would describe them.

Xiao Liu taught me that, but I should say that it was my brain who had taught me, not him...

Nowadays, people would go out at the daily time of their life and some would often walk around to cause trouble… Troublemakers yet Xiao Liu never touched nor dared himself to see an inch of sight of those creatures.

While I was on my way home, from one of the alleys, there was a kid calling out for help while running away from some guys.

"Come back here, you brat!"

One of them was gripping a sharp knife in his hand. At any time now, he will raise that knife and go for the kid.

"Someone, please…!"

Slowly, my hand went to grab a boule of bread from the paper bag and took a bite while walking towards their direction.

The boule bread was surprisingly delicious! I suppose Xiao Liu does have a good taste in bread…?

Nom~

It is really yummy! I should buy more of them next time; the bakery isn't too far from my house.

After that, I ate the boule of bread. Then placed the paper bag on a table in front of a cafe, where a guy was having a coffee there.

"Please protect these breads, thanks."

I said, before straight up running into the alley. Pretty sure, they aren't far away from the cafe, right? How do I use his abilities???

Dammit! Seemingly, the alley was gloomy and a long way to go. I need to use one of his abilities—with a single blink from imaginations, my eye vision has detected them even from a far.

It is great to know that the vision I'm using is a night vision, so I could see what's in this dark alley.

I can't keep myself clean after this. The ground was wet from the rain as I paddled down the alley with my fingers tracing the wall.

I rested my eyes for a moment before opening to see through walls and objects.

It had caught me off-guard for a second there. What is it called? X-ray?

Whatever makes my plan work, I guess.

"There they are!"

The sounds of the birds flying in the blue sky peacefully, even the clouds moving slowly with every frame—finally, I knocked the guys with a simple poke on their waist and neck with my hand.

The kid seems to be a female kid, shaking in fear on the ground. She was stunned by my sudden appearance, seeing as if I was a hero.

"Are you okay, kid?"

"I…"

Just the slight voice of the kid, my eyes widened. Annoyed.

How could I meet her so soon? The system hasn't even given a scenario yet…

"What's your name?"

She seemed to have calmed down by my question yet still stunned.

"I'm… Emi."
