I couldn't take it anymore, the pain was building, my leg felt like it was on fire, and I yelled, "Enough! Both of you, shut up!" But they kept going, Sky's mom saying, "If Sky's ex did this, it's because someone like your son drove him to it," and Mom gasping, "How dare you blame Danny!" The detective tried again, "Let's stick to facts, any leads on where they might've gone?" I shook my head, "Back to the city with us, probably, hiding in some dive." Sky's mom sneered, "And you let them get away?" I shot back, "I was bleeding out, what did you want me to do, chase them on one leg?"
