Chapter 3 - My Little Cat

Once Rainn was escorted out of the office, I immediately took my seat behind my desk. My eyes locked onto Amilio, who looked terrified.

He had been only twenty one when he replaced Binsar. But in the last seven years, the work he did was not even half of what Binsar used to handle. On top of that, his gambling problem had started eating into my money.

"I hear you like hanging out at Midnight Heavens," I muttered. That strip club was the first business I ever opened, so I had special ties to places like that.

The club had three sections. Heaven, where people just watched sexy women dance. Angel, where every sinful act happened. And the third section was the gambling room, called Purgatory. I did not need to explain what that place did to wallets.

"Yes, sir," Amilio answered.

He tried to sit on the chair beside the desk, but Benny immediately placed a hand on his chest and shook his head. No one was allowed to sit in front of me unless their last name was Arnold, Delaney, Baek, Rose, or Kim.

"How much do you owe?" I asked.

I actually knew the exact number, but I did not want Amilio to think I cared about his life.

"Almost four billion," Benny answered.

My eyebrow lifted, and I shook my head slowly.

Sweat started dripping from Amilio's temples. "I'll pay it back. As soon as possible."

"Yes, you will," I said flatly. "Today."

His eyes widened. "I can't get that kind of money that fast."

My face stayed cold. "That's your problem."

Benny took one step forward, his presence threatening enough to make Amilio panic. "I'll pay it. Give me one month."

My eyes narrowed.

His gaze darted between me and Benny, then he added, "I'm the only family Rainn has. Please give me one month. I swear I can get the money."

A tired excuse. People usually said things like that just hours before I killed them. But the moment I heard the name Rainn, I changed direction. I had been so busy that I had not realized the little girl had grown into a beautiful woman.

I was used to seeing fear in people's eyes when they looked at me. But the terror I saw in Rainn earlier did something to me. My body reacted instantly. A reaction I rarely had.

I became curious about how it would feel to break her under my control. My sex life was fine, but lately, every woman felt the same. Boring. And on top of that, my uncle had started nagging, saying it was time for me to get married.

Then that frightened little kitten appeared in front of me, and her eyes threw my heartbeat into chaos.

"Rainn is twenty three," I said.

Amilio looked surprised, then strangely relieved. "Yes."

"She's old enough to get married."

"Yes." Amilio nodded quickly. "I'm just waiting until she turns twenty five before I let her marry."

I laughed. "And who do you think you are, deciding her marriage? Hahaha. Did you replace us as a Boss?" I lifted my hand.

Amilio's eyes widened again. "N no, sir."

Why wait until she was twenty five?

I saved that question for later. Benny could dig into Rainn's personal life after I finished dealing with her brother.

I rested my elbows on the desk and leaned forward slightly. "You have no right to arrange Rainn's marriage without my approval."

I wanted to enjoy that woman first, before handing her over to someone I deemed worthy.

Amilio nodded frantically. "Then about the debt, sir. One month?"

"For this time." I nodded slowly and pointed at the door, telling him to leave.

Once he was gone, I turned to Benny. "I want to know everything about Rainn Margot."

"Yes, Boss." Benny paused, then asked, "And what about Jowan's body?"

"Take him home so his family can bury him." I pulled my phone from my suit pocket. "Pay for the funeral. Give eight hundred million to his wife. God knows she needs it."

Big Jonny entered the office just as Benny left. "The girl already left with her brother," he said.

I nodded while checking emails and messages on my desk.

"She doesn't look like she'll talk," Jonny added.

I nodded again, my eyes shifting to the meeting schedule for Tuesday at five in the afternoon. Every two weeks, the five Rulers of Marunda gathered. It started as a way to keep peace, but over time, we became something like friends. Now we played poker while talking business.

It was supposed to be my cousin sitting in the Arnold seat in Marunda. But he was killed by the Black Lotus cartel when they tried to enter the North District.

"Fifteen years already," I thought.

No wonder Uncle Deth had started pushing me about marriage. He was afraid I would die before leaving an heir for the Arnold family.

The problem was, the women from families suitable to stand beside me were mostly older than me or still in school. Uncle once tried to match me with Merry, the daughter of the most powerful family in the East District. That was never going to happen. She was six years older than me and completely insane.

Suddenly, Rainn's pretty face slipped into my mind. I shook my head quickly. The Margot family was far below the Arnolds. But at least she was a Santoro. I shook my head again. The thought of Amilio as my brother in law made me tired already.

My gaze dropped to my right hand. My fingers brushed together slowly, remembering how soft Rainn's hair had felt earlier. She had flinched, like she thought I was going to hit her. A woman only reacted like that if she had been hit before.

My eyes narrowed, my thoughts drifting to my parents. Before they died, my father often beat my mother. The world I grew up in made me hard, but there was one promise I made to myself. I would never hit a woman.

The image of Rainn's fear stayed vivid in my head. My fingers tapped against the desk, my mind filled with her. My body was twice her size. Her face was heart shaped, framed by wild golden brown hair. And those catlike eyes that were impossible to look away from.

That girl was beautiful.

"Boss?" Big Jonny tried to get my attention.

I had almost forgotten he was still there. I shook my head, pushed thoughts of Rainn Margot away, and slipped my phone back into my pocket. "Let's go to the club."

Every day I was surrounded by beautiful women, but none of them had ever made me feel this crazy. Not like Rainn, with her wild hair and cat eyes.
