Chapter 95 - Chapter 92 two heartbeats

The five-month mark had arrived, and the "Watson Glow" was no longer just a compliment—it was a reality. My bump was finally prominent enough that I had to switch to maternity scrubs at the clinic, and Keifer had become so protective he practically had a GPS tracker synced to my heartbeat.

We had purposely avoided knowing the gender early. Keifer wanted a "grand reveal," but I just wanted to see those tiny limbs moving on the screen.

The Watson Medical Center was unusually quiet as we walked toward the VIP ultrasound suite. Keifer was holding my hand so tightly you'd think he was the one about to go under the knife. Keigan and Keiran were trailing behind us, arguing over whether they were going to be uncles to a "CEO-in-training" or a "Surgeon-to-be."

"Relax, hubby," I teased, hopping onto the exam table. "It's just a routine scan."

Nothing is routine when it involves you and my heir, weify," Keifer replied, his eyes fixed on the blank monitor as the technician prepped the gel.

The Screen Flickers to Life

The cool gel hit my skin, and the technician moved the transducer over my stomach. The black-and-white image materialized—the familiar shape of a tiny head and a spine.

"There's the head," the technician murmured. "And the heartbeat... nice and strong."

Keifer leaned in, his face lit by the blue glow of the screen. He looked like he was witnessing a miracle. "That's my kid," he whispered, his voice thick with pride.

But then, the technician paused. She moved the probe to the left, then back to the right. Her brow furrowed.

"Is something wrong?" Keifer's voice instantly dropped into that cold, "Monster" tone. The room felt ten degrees colder. "Is the baby okay?"

"Oh, the baby is perfectly fine, Mr. Watson," she said, a small smile spreading across her face. "It's just that... I'm looking for the second one."

The Double Shock

The room went dead silent. Keigan stopped mid-sentence. Keiran dropped his phone.

"The... second one?" I gasped, sitting up on my elbows.

The technician pointed to the screen. "See this membrane here? And this heartbeat over here? You aren't having one baby, Dr. Watson. You're having twins."

For the second time in our marriage, the great Keifer Watson lost his ability to speak. He stared at the two distinct flickers on the screen—two tiny Watsons, side by side.

"Two?" Keifer rasped, his eyes wide. "We're having... two?"

"Identical?" I asked, my surgeon's brain finally kicking in.

"It looks like it," she confirmed. "Two healthy, growing Watsons."

The Brotherly Celebration

"TWINS!" Keigan erupted, jumping up and down in the small exam room. "We're getting two of them! We can start a basketball team! Kuya, you're doubled-upped!"

Keiran was laughing, shaking his head in disbelief. "Man, the Black Box is going to be so loud. One baby was going to be a handful, but two? Good luck, Kuya."

Keifer didn't respond to them. He sat down on the edge of the table and took my face in both of his hands. He was laughing and crying at the same time—a rare sight that made my own heart overflow.

"Two, honey," he whispered, pressing his forehead against mine. "You gave me two. I thought I was the end of my line, and now... you've doubled it. I'm going to have to build a bigger wing for the mansion."

"You're going to have to change twice as many diapers, hubby," I reminded him, smiling through my tears.

The News Hits Section E

We didn't even make it back to the car before Keifer sent the photo of the ultrasound to the Section E group chat. The phones started vibrating immediately

Moya: "TWINS?! The Watson empire is expanding! I'm buying two of everything. Two Ferraris, two watches!" Kit: "I NEED TO REDESIGN THE NURSERY! It needs to be symmetrical! Jay, don't move, I'm coming over with fabric swatches!" Mica: "OMG JAY! Twins like Angelo and Ion! We need to have a double baby shower. Calix is already looking up twin-related laws (don't ask why)."

The Quiet Reflection

That night, back at the Black Box, the house felt different. It felt fuller. We sat on the bed, and Keifer placed both of his hands on my stomach, his touch reverent.

"I was so afraid of being a father like my own," Keifer murmured into the darkness. "I thought if I had one child, I could focus all my energy on making sure they were safe. But two... it feels like a sign. A sign that the Watson name isn't a burden anymore. It's a gift."

They're going to be just like you and your brothers," I said, leaning my head on his chest. "Protective, strong, and maybe a little bit stubborn."

"And they'll have the best Mumma in the world to keep them in line," he replied, kissing my temple.

The surprise of the twins was the ultimate double-blessing. We were no longer just a couple; we were a tribe. And as I drifted off to sleep in my husband's arms, I knew that the "Black Box" was about to become the loudest, happiest home in all of the Philippines.
