Chapter 31 - our little secret

After that night in the garden…

nothing became loud.

Nothing became official.

Nothing changed in front of the family.

And yet…

everything had changed.

Inside the Watson mansion, Jay still walked in like she always had.

Calling Serina Mama.

Calling Keizer Papa.

Teasing Keigan and Keiren.

Helping in the office.

Laughing at breakfast.

And Keifer…

was still Keifer.

Cold to the world.

Careless to rumors.

Perfectly normal in front of everyone.

Only…

their relationship became a secret.

A very quiet one.

When Serina talked to Jay in the kitchen, Keifer would pass by like it didn't matter.

But under the table…

his foot would gently touch hers.

When Keizer asked Jay to bring files to the study, Keifer would arrive two minutes later for "another file".

Their eyes would meet.

Nothing more.

Everything more.

At breakfast…

they never sat together.

But Jay always pushed the sugar bowl closer to his side.

And Keifer always poured tea into her cup without looking at her.

In the hallway…

they crossed paths like strangers.

But when no one was looking…

his fingers brushed her wrist.

Just once.

Enough.

At night…

when the mansion fell quiet…

Jay would receive one message.

Did you eat?

She would reply.

Did you sleep?

That was all.

No hearts.

No names.

No promises in words.

Only in silence.

They didn't tell Serina.

Didn't tell Papa.

Didn't even tell her dad.

Not because they were afraid.

But because…

this felt too precious.

Too new.

Too fragile.

It was theirs.

Only theirs.

A ring hidden under Jay's sleeve.

A future folded quietly inside both their hearts.

And in a house full of people who loved them…

Jay and Keifer learned how to love each other…

in secret.
