Chapter 20 - Chapter 20: A Probationary Sorcerer Punched Hulk Into Fear?!

Kamar-Taj.

Wong was cultivating in his room.

A sorcerer hurriedly barged in from outside.

Wong calmly opened his eyes.

"What's so urgent?"

"As a sorcerer, do you not understand the principle of keeping your mind calm and steady?"

Wong spoke flatly.

Hearing this, the sorcerer obediently stood at attention and said,

"Yes, Master Sorcerer-dono. I understand."

Only after seeing him settle down did Wong ask,

"So what exactly happened? Why are you in such a rush?"

"It's like this, Master Sorcerer-dono."

"Just now, Hulk broke into our New York Sanctum."

"We need you to go and subdue Hulk."

"Hulk?"

Wong abruptly stood up.

"Why didn't you say so earlier!"

Sorcerer: ???

Wong had no time to care about the sorcerer's mood.

He was genuinely worried.

What kind of being was Hulk?

To put it bluntly, he was a monster!

Tremendous strength and a violent temper—either could cause astonishing destruction.

That guy broke into the Sanctum?

No.

This couldn't be delayed!

Wong raised a hand and opened a Portal, teleporting directly to the Teleportation Sanctum beside the library.

Whoosh!

Two sounds rang out as two shields appeared in Wong's hands.

He turned near the great door in front, adjusting the teleport destination straight to the New York Sanctum.

Then Wong took a single stride and walked right in.

"The Master Sorcerer of Kamar-Taj, Wong, is here—Hulk, how dare you run wild!"

Wong roared the moment he stepped inside.

His powerful voice echoed through the Sanctum.

"Hm? Where's Hulk?"

As soon as Wong emerged from the Portal, he saw a crowd of sorcerers staring at him like people at a zoo watching a monkey.

And the so-called Hulk was nowhere to be seen.

Still.

A Master Sorcerer was a Master Sorcerer.

Not only was he strong—his skin was thicker than ordinary people's.

And with Wong's perpetually deadpan face, no one could read anything off him at all.

So when he spoke again, he did so with complete naturalness.

At Wong's question, a senior sorcerer stepped forward and reported,

"Reporting to Master Sorcerer-dono, Hulk has already been subdued."

"Now we need you to decide how Hulk should be handled."

"?"

"Subdued?"

"Who subdued Hulk?"

Wong was a bit surprised.

That was Hulk.

Wong felt that, with the Sanctum's enhancement, he could at best go fifty-fifty with Hulk.

If it were outside, Wong definitely wouldn't want to fight that monster.

But…

Hulk had been subdued?

And someone in Kamar-Taj could subdue Hulk?

That strong?

Thoughts raced through Wong's mind, but his expression did not change.

"It was Karl."

The sorcerer answered.

"Who?!"

A look of disbelief appeared on Wong's face.

He hadn't misheard, right?

Who did that sorcerer just say?

Karl?

Was that really not a mistake?

That probationary sorcerer Karl—he could subdue Hulk? Was this a joke?

"It was Karl!"

The sorcerer repeated.

"Hiss…"

"So it really is that kid?!"

Wong sucked in a cold breath.

That kid had only become a sorcerer a few days ago!

And he could already subdue Hulk?

This world was honestly starting to feel a little abnormal.

Wong couldn't help feeling his heart jolt.

This kid's talent was downright freakish.

"Karl… how did he subdue Hulk?"

"He relied on magic, right?"

"That kid's magic really is kind of outrageous."

Wong nodded as he spoke.

Karl's magic power was indeed quite strong.

He could even damage Kamar-Taj's library—using that level of magic to subdue Hulk wasn't impossible.

After all…

Magic could unleash terrifying power and let the weak overcome the strong.

However.

The sorcerer in front of him wore a strange expression, hesitating as if he wanted to speak but didn't dare.

"Master Sorcerer-dono, it wasn't like that."

"That kid subdued Hulk purely with his physical body."

"Hulk got beaten miserably by Karl."

"If it weren't Hulk, I think he would've already dropped to his knees begging."

"You didn't see it—he was just too violent."

As he spoke, the sorcerer couldn't help getting animated, his eyebrows dancing, his heart full of complicated awe.

Wong was even more shocked.

His lips trembled slightly, and even the hands clasped behind his back couldn't help shaking.

It wasn't that he couldn't keep his composure.

It was simply that Karl was, honestly, too freakish.

If Karl had subdued Hulk with magic, fine.

But with his body?

What kind of being was Hulk?

A freak specialized in brute physical strength—an absolute monster who could use his flesh to fight tanks.

And Karl crushed Hulk with his flesh?

What kind of international joke was that?

Kamar-Taj sorcerers did have stronger bodies than normal, but there still had to be basic logic!

In battle, they relied on magic.

Yet, looking around at the surroundings… and then at Dr. Banner lying on the ground…

Wong had to admit it.

What this sorcerer said was correct.

Karl had indeed used overwhelming physical strength to subdue that beast called Hulk.

"These days, young people are way too fierce."

"We're all cultivating magic—so why is this kid so absurdly outstanding…"

Wong couldn't help sighing to himself.

This kid was truly unusual.

After sighing internally for a moment, Wong started worrying about Dr. Banner in front of him.

This…

was a headache.

"Master Sorcerer-dono, how should we handle this one?"

The senior sorcerer asked.

"How else should we handle him?"

"Throw him to New Delhi. We can't exactly kill him."

Wong said irritably.

Not to mention whether they could even kill him.

If they actually woke that guy up, it would be even more troublesome.

And Dr. Banner couldn't compensate them for their losses anyway.

To ordinary people, Kamar-Taj was still extremely secret.

Even S.H.I.E.L.D. didn't know Kamar-Taj existed.

If Dr. Banner got exposed, they might be exposed as well.

There was no way to explain that to the Ancient One-sama.

Given the situation…

Wong could only pinch his nose and let this guy go.

All of this was simply a disaster out of nowhere.

"If we get the chance later, we absolutely have to make that guy pay for our losses."

Wong snorted coldly.

As he spoke, he extended his hand and sliced the air in front of him.

A golden Portal appeared.

With a single lift of his arm, Dr. Banner was thrown straight into the Portal by Wong.

"Summon the sorcerers and repair the Sanctum."

"Good thing he didn't cause too much damage, or it would've been a real problem."

Wong shook his head.

Fortunately, the Sanctum was extremely sturdy.

Although it looked badly damaged, the truly important parts hadn't been ruined, and its functions could still be maintained.

Otherwise, if those great demon gods got in, things would become a disaster.

"This world is really becoming dangerous. From now on, we should station Master Sorcerers at the Sanctums."

Wong thought to himself.
