Mysty caught up to the gang, Albur took out the old spotlight and activated it, brightening the way, Johnson also took out his own flashlight, they followed the direction of the map and entered the center of the forest.
"Not gonna lie this place is so suitable to explore, its so dark, and withered, thril seekers will love this place!" said Albur.
"Thrill seekers...." Johnson whispered and looked at Mysty.
"Uh, I am not a thrill seeker, I am a mystery unraveller. Though both do sounds like looking for trouble, and also kinda scary but, I don't usually seek mysteries that are horrifying." said Mysty.
"Huh..." murmured Johnson.
"By the way, Mysty why are standing in front of the forest just now? Are you scared? " asked Albur.
"No, I uh, I am just thinking, this place looks familiar to me. " said Mysty.
"Forest have common characteristics, you must've mistaken it with another place. " said Johnson.
"No, I mean like, I think I've been to this place before. " said Mysty.
"What? Really ? " asked Albur.
"Yeah, wait. Hold on a second." Mysty pressed her watch, she took out a digital tablet and swiped around.
"Yeah, this place ! "Mysty showed Albur and Johnson one of her unsolved mysteries Deck.
"This place is rumoured to be haunted by ghosts, its one of my only 2 unsolved mysteries. " said Mysty.
"What's another then ? " asked Covie.
"Well once I found that my ice cream in the fridge have unknowingly disappeared. I found bear foot prints in the house but that time scientist haven't take bears back from the 20's. " said Mysty.
Albur suddenly looked away, he remembered he have a pair of bear foot like cotton slippers he got as his salary from his boss. He used it when the weather is cold.
"I wonder who took it....." said Albur nervously.
"C'mon ma'am, this is a science world, there is no such thing as ghosts. " said Johnson.
"The reason I clasified this as unsolved is because once, I stepped inside here, and I experienced a very very unusual process, like that time, when I was investigating here, I suddenly felt extreme sickness, like I wanted to throw up, after that, I was unconscious, and when I woke up, I was in the hospital, Albur do you still remember this? " asked Mysty.
"Oh, wait yeah! I remember I saw you on the street when I was driving back, walking around like a zombie, and when I caught you, something strange came out from you, and I quickly rushed you to the hospital. " said Albur.
"Yes, this is the place I was talking about. " said Mysty.
"Damn, my stupid memory. " said Albur.
"Do you mean... this place.... is haunted?" Covie hid behind Johnson.
"I think so..." said Mysty.
"C'mon guys, its 8167, there's no such thing as haunted forests, that is the reason why the word rumours exist. " said Johnson. Pulling Covie out from his back, but she still grabbed his arms.
"Hey, really, we gotta be careful, I don't think this place is completely safe. " said Mysty.
"I trust her, I think we really have to be careful. " said Albur.
"Dude, the forest is already destroyed, the ghosts, if they even exists, they must already be captured by glitches, or not released to else where. Why would they stay here? We have to get to the upgrade station quickly so come on. " said Johnson.
Albur looked at Mysty, she also shook her head.
"We will have to be careful, I remember how aggressive Mysty is when she was a zombie." Albur took out his rifle.
The gang continued to follow the map to the upgrade station, Mysty grabbed Albur's arm while walking in the forest. Albur couldn't hear anything rather then their footsteps walking on the crunchy ground and the wind whistling. The gang walked for straight minutes but still nothing happened.
"See, told you there won't be anything here. " said Johnson.
"But its so rare to see you so horrified like this, usually you were very excited when travelling to unknown places. " said Albur.
"That time you must've eaten something wrong, and got food poisoning. " said Johnson.
"No.... the doctor said they can't find where the problem is, they said I was like possessed or something. I don't know, but everything except for food poisoning. " said Mysty.
Suddenly, the gang heard a rustling sound, they all looked around, strangely, there was a bush near them, still alive and green.
"Huh? A bush? " asked Albur.
"That's impossible, this forest was already burnt down, why is there still such a green bush here? " asked Johnson.
Albur stepped in front of the bush, aiming his rifle at it, the bush moved again, Albur stepped back in fear, he fired his rifle at that bush, the bush exploded, and turned into ashes. Strangely, nothing was there, not even a corpse, nor a skeleton, npt even some leftover ashes of animals or something.
"What? The? " Johnson walked to the bush's ashes. Covie flew to his left
"Covie, can you try recovering this bush? " asked Johnson.
Covie shot a green colored beam at that bush, but instead, only the burnt plants behind the bush's ashes were recovered.
"Wait... this bush don't seem to exist....." said Covie.
Suddenly, Covie was dragged away, but she was seemingly pulled away by an unknown force.
"Covie! " Johnson sprinted to the direction she was dragged away. Albur and Mysty quickly catch up to him. They eventually reached a circular forest area. Johnson looked around.
"Where is she? Where did that whatever thing brought her to?" asked Johnson.
"Wait, what actually took her?" asked Albur.
"I think its something paranormal that haunted here....." said Mysty.
Suddenly, a gust of wind blew behind them. They looked behind, and they saw Covie high up in the sky, in coma.
"What? Covie?" Johnson looked at Covie.
"She isn't flying using her propeller, she is floating...." said Albur.
"What the heck really took her will be revealed....." Mysty searched her adventure vest, then, she took out a flashlight.
"How will a flashlight help?" asked Albur.
"This ain't a normal flashlight, you know that CCTVs can sometimes capture paranormal things right?" asked Mysty.
"Yeah?" said Albur.
"This is a flashlight made of the same glass as the CCTVs!" Mysty shone the flashlight at Covie's direction. And when the light shone on it, they saw a giant white colored ghost, with a sleep hat like head, a whip like tail, glowing soulless eyes and gray tear marks that got to its cheeks. It is grabbing Covie on its right hand.
"OH MY GOODNESS HEAVEN SNAP! WHAT THE HECK IS THAT?" yelled Albur.
"Let go of Covie right now!" Johnson rushed to that ghost, but anyone with common sense would know, Johnson penetrated its body.
That ghost raised its left hand, then, even more smaller versions of it emerged from the ground.
"This make no sense! Ghosts don't meant to exist! What on earth am I facing?" Johnson retreated near the gang.
"We have to save Covie and get out of here quickly!" yelled Albur.
"Any idea on how can we kill these paranormal ghosts?" asked Johnson.
"I don't know..... I have never fought ghosts in my career. I think our best bet is to get Covie back and escape!" said Mysty.
The ghosts surrounded the gang, but they did nothing to them, the giant ghost then poked Covie and shook her. Johnson tried to escape the ghost's surrounding. but there's a force stopping him from doing so.
"Hey Johnson, I'm sorry for what I'm about to do, but its for Covie!" said Albur.
"Huh? Wha-" Albur stepped on Johnson's head, and then, he tried to open the old spotlight at the ghosts, and luckily, it emitted a bright light that stunned the ghosts. Johnson and Mysty grabbed the opportunity to escape the surround. The giant ghost looked at them, it then seemingly shot a supernatural force pressure shot at them. Johnson tried to fire his minigun at it, but it just penetrated the shot. The pressure shot exploded on the ground and sent a shockwave sending everyone flying. The other ghosts recovered from the blind, they then stopped the 3 of them using an energy force.
"Uh.... wha- where am I?" Covie opened her eyes, she looked around and found herself being grabbed by the giant ghost. She was shocked, she struggled and tried spinning her propeller.
"Master! What is going on????" shouted Covie.
Then, the ghosts tried to possess the gang, but Mysty managed to bust out from the force grab of the ghosts, then, Johnson and Albur's body started to twist, then, they started moving like zombies.
"Error, breach alert, breach alert, parasite: unknown." beeped Johnson's screen.
Mysty quickly searched her pockets, she then took out a crucifix. Albur rushed towards Mysty, she smashed him with it, but magically, the ghost within Albur was released. Albur fell on the ground, coughing.
"Albur? Are you ok?" Mysty rushed to Albur and shook him.
"I'm, alright..... just a little, dizzy..." Albur stood up.
The ghosts looked at the crucifix in Mysty's hands, they were shocked and retreated.
"What is that?" asked Albur.
"This... wait, I thought I took out the broken metal pipe!" said Mysty.
"Wait, this is the crucifix I gave you to wish you good luck last year!" said Albur.
"It stills sounds weird for you to give this as good luck. " said Mysty.
"That's not the point! What are we gonna do now? " asked Albur.
"Looks like the ghosts are afraid of it." said Mysty.
The giant ghost then signalled the little ones to retreat, and it floated towards the both of them.
