The Butler Who Saw Through the Darkness [Part 2]

Oliver lowered his gaze to the damaged floor.

"Now look at what you've made me do. I've damaged the floor of my master's shop."

There was genuine reluctance in his voice.

It was almost absurd. The old butler had just tried to punch an intruder, yet he seemed more upset about the damage to the shop than the person standing before him.

Lane stared at him for a moment.

Even in the middle of a fight, Oliver couldn't help worrying about his master's property.

Apparently, though, that concern wasn't enough to stop him.

He attacked again.

His fist came straight toward Lane's face.

She shifted sideways, narrowly avoiding the blow.

Oliver followed without hesitation. Another punch came from the opposite direction.

Lane leaned back.

His fist swept past her face, missing by mere inches.

Before she could regain her balance, Oliver stepped forward again.

Lane had no choice but to retreat.

His next blow struck a wooden chair.

CRACK!
