Chapter 3 - Chapter Three: Noticing the Changes

Chapter Three: Noticing the Changes

They left moments after saying a few words about his enrollment at the academy.

But all that information wasn't important.

Because when they left him, all he could do was think.

Is this the way a person who's transferred to another world should be treated?

Well, at this moment, Obito could do nothing but curse the entire history of isekai manga he had ever read.

Where are the supernatural abilities? Where is the power to defeat people? Where is the promised system that every transmigrator is supposed to get?

Since I transferred to this world, all that happens to me is bad news.

First, I transferred into the Jujutsu world, a world where it's known that people who possess cursed energy, or "Jujutsu," at least in this world, don't live past 30.

Even the world's strongest sorcerer, Gojo Satoru, died before turning 30 in a brutal way—torn in half.

And what about me?

Me, who's just a member of the Zenin clan, a clan that in the future will be exterminated exactly two years from now by a girl after she completed her Heavenly Restriction.

Does this mean I will die in such a useless way?

Obito stopped, and the feeling of annoyance in his heart increased.

But at the same moment he was thinking about that, he felt the presence of a change.

Perhaps because he was thinking sincerely in his head, or because he was in a state of headache, he had been contemplating his new condition since he transferred into it.

Especially since it's normal that a person wouldn't try to get used to the body they obtained, even if it's been a short while.

It was still clear he had transferred into this body less than a day ago.

Of course, he had obtained the memories of the previous Obito Zenin, but he still couldn't accept the feeling.

But there was something in the memories of the previous Obito Zenin that made Obito himself feel that something had changed.

What changed? What is this feeling that suddenly came over me?

I should check it.

Maybe I should check my cursed energy.

It's true I'm not used to using it yet (and that was one of the reasons for falling and losing consciousness in front of Toudou so easily—I'm sure he didn't intend to kill me... I think).

And as he thought about this matter without realizing it, he noticed the feeling and changes in his body.

At first, after one minute, his eyes opened.

There was a clear look of shock on his face.

If someone had been in the room, they would have been surprised by the wide-open eyes and face.

But the reason Obito made such a shocked expression and look of surprise was that he now noticed his cursed energy had become much stronger than it was.

It wasn't clear how many times stronger it had become, but it was definitely much stronger than a Grade 3 sorcerer's.

It seemed to be on the same level as a Grade 2 sorcerer.

And that wasn't the only change.

His hair... no, his ability to channel cursed energy to increase his physical strength.

He even felt he could raise his physical strength to superhuman levels.

And as Obito was doing this, experimenting briefly, he realized the differences.

He had become much stronger.

But a question appeared immediately because of these strange developments.

What is happening?

Wasn't Obito Zenin a weak person who didn't even have talent or a cursed technique?

Why did his cursed energy suddenly increase after losing consciousness?

Could it be that Obito Zenin's cursed technique activates when he's harmed?

He thought about this possibility and quickly shook his head, dismissing it.

How could that be?

He was literally beaten daily by most people in the Zenin clan.

Except for bullying Maki and Mai, who were of a lower rank than him, he was ultimately the person who was hit the most there and subjected to insults.

How could he have such a technique that allows him to raise his cursed energy when harmed?

If that were true, his energy should be infinite by now.

He said that metaphorically, of course, but he was aware that was also a truth.

If that were the case, then his cursed technique definitely wasn't the reason for raising his cursed energy.

Then what was the reason that made his cursed energy suddenly rise?

Could it be because I took over this body?

Again, Obito dismissed this reason.

Because if that were the reason, it should have happened when he first woke up, and he would have noticed the changes since he first tried feeling cursed energy at home.

Now, at the academy, the feeling was different.

So the reason must have been a trigger, or at least something that happened to him between arriving at the academy and the path there.

Or perhaps the incident he experienced against Toudou.

He dismissed the first option—the path to the academy—and dismissed the moment of waking up in this place.

So the best probability was that it happened because of what Toudou did.

Obito's eyes opened, a smile appeared, and he began as if he had understood something.

Could it be that the cursed technique activated because I was harmed?

Maybe I possess a cursed technique that works by increasing my power when I'm harmed?

Or perhaps the cursed technique awakened because I transferred into this body?

This is possible because I might have raised the spiritual power that Obito Zenin, who died, possessed.

Or perhaps because I have his memories, I also have his mental strength, and this caused the awakening of my specific technique.

If this technique has awakened, then what is it?

Is it merely a technique that helps me raise my cursed energy?

Frankly, if that's what this technique does, I'll feel sorry, but I'll definitely appreciate it too.

Especially since raising cursed energy is one of the strongest techniques in the Jujutsu world.

It's true that the cursed technique constitutes 80% of a shaman's strength, but cursed energy is also the fuel that runs the technique.

If the amount of cursed energy rises, this means I can reinforce myself better.

And perhaps if I possess greater cursed energy, it might make my chances of survival in this world greater.

In the Training Field

Obito went there after leaving the medical clinic.

He went to the field and tried to measure his cursed energy again.

There was no way to know the exact difference between his cursed energy and that of others.

But he could be almost certain that his cursed energy now rivaled that of a Grade 2 shaman.

And this was a good level of cursed energy that qualified him to deal with Grade 3 curses easily.

Which meant he might be able to earn money.

And if he could earn money, he might be able to travel and obtain a passport and nationality, and also change his identity and move to America.

There, he would live, and using his enhanced strength with cursed energy, he could live like a king.

Of course, this plan requires a lot of work and many exceptional opportunities.

But it was the only idea he could say was his first plan at this time.
