Chapter 6 - Chapter 5: Bad Review, No Explanation

Jiang Zuo was absolutely confident he could find that Three-tailed Fox. The coin toss had confirmed one thing for him: the fox was still here.

And it had gone very smoothly, without any resistance.

This meant the fox wasn't resisting at all. Its relationship with this person was clearly unusual.

The coin flew high into the air and then began to fall. Jiang Zuo watched it, and Gu Jiansheng watched it too.

Then Gu Jiansheng saw the coin land behind him—or more precisely, it fell right up against his back.

The coin then hit something. Gu Jiansheng's face darkened as he looked behind him at the now-visible Three-tailed Fox.

'If Xiaoli weren't looking at him so pitifully right now, he would have smacked it. I've been looking for you for days, and you're playing hide-and-seek with me?'

'Hiding behind me and using the Concealment techniques I taught you, no less.'

Still, he was shocked. This young man had found it so easily.

Looks like he wasn't just posturing after all.

'And since when could you find Xiaoli by flipping a coin? Is this some kind of hidden master?'

Just then, Jiang Zuo retrieved his coin and held out his hand. "What I came for."

Gu Jiansheng frowned. 'This guy is really unlikable.'

He then took out his phone, opened the Tianhe App, and tapped "Complete" on the original commission.

After he was done, Gu Jiansheng looked at Jiang Zuo. "The money has been transferred to your account via the Tianhe Group. Come with me to get the Moon Tear Bead."

Gu Jiansheng then led the Three-tailed Fox into the house. They had been in the courtyard just moments before.

At that moment, Jiang Zuo received a notification about the deposit.

Your debit card account ending in 8197 received a deposit of 240,000.00 on September 1. Post-transaction balance: 280,233.33. [XX Bank]

'So that's how the Tianhe Group takes its cut,' Jiang Zuo thought upon seeing the message. 'A straight twenty percent. Ruthless.'

Still, Jiang Zuo didn't say anything. It was to be expected.

He followed Gu Jiansheng inside and found the interior's layout to be quite refined. 'This guy seems decent enough.'

Much better than those people from the Perception Department.

But he still felt there was something strange about the way Gu Jiansheng looked at the fox.

Gu Jiansheng then took out a brocade box and handed it to Jiang Zuo. "Inspect it. No returns once you accept."

Jiang Zuo opened the box. Inside was a teardrop-shaped blue bead—the Moon Tear Bead.

The deeper the color, the higher the quality. This particular Moon Tear Bead, however, had only a hint of blue, not even enough to be considered light blue.

"Poor quality. It doesn't even qualify as low-grade." Then, without another word, Jiang Zuo took the Moon Tear Bead and left.

The corner of Gu Jiansheng's mouth twitched uncontrollably. If not for his good temper, he would have already pinned this brat to the ground and wiped the floor with him.

"'Go on, be arrogant. Few of the clients on Tianhe are good-natured. You'll get yourself killed one day, and I'll be there to 'like' it when it happens.' As he spoke, he stroked Xiaoli in his arms, and his mood instantly improved.

After leaving Gu Jiansheng's home, Jiang Zuo went straight to a traditional pharmacy. He needed some medicinal herbs; without other components, a single poor-quality Moon Tear Bead wouldn't be of much use.

He arrived at Renxin Medicine Hall, a fairly large establishment. After giving them his list of herbs, Jiang Zuo waited for the staff to fill his order.

Just then, Jiang Zuo's phone buzzed. It was the Perception No. 1 group chat again.

'I'm sure I set it to receive messages without notifications. The only reason it would still alert me is if someone @mentioned me.'

He opened the chat and, sure enough, saw he had been tagged.

Liu Yiyi: "@Boss Po Xiao, how did you do it?"

The question came out of nowhere.

Then he saw Liu Yiyi's follow-up message: "I was just looking at your profile, Boss, and I saw that you'd already completed the commission!"

Chi Xue Child posted a shocked emoji: "No way, that fast? Did the fox give up playing around?"

Blade Master Hai Bian chimed in: "Was it really that easy? I thought it would be a handful."

Liu Yiyi: "No, that's not it. I'm not surprised at how fast it was. It's... Here, I'll send a screenshot."

Then Liu Yiyi posted a screenshot of the review. It showed a One-Star rating, accompanied by the comment: "Bad review. No explanation."

The entire group chat fell silent for a moment.

Liuyue Xue: "Boss Po Xiao, how did you manage that?"

Chi Xue Child: "Same here."

Blade Master Hai Bian: "Same here."

Yang Mu: "Same here."

...

'So there's a rating system too?' Jiang Zuo thought, surprised. 'Where do you even see that?'

Po Xiao: "Where do you see that?"

Chen Yi immediately replied: "The Tianhe App was in the attachments. Your account is your work ID number. The password will be sent to your phone, and you can change it later."

Jiang Zuo checked the attachments and, sure enough, found the Tianhe App.

He quickly logged in. His name appeared, along with a user profile page.

Bad review. No explanation.

Jiang Zuo was stunned when he saw this. Then he smiled. 'This is actually pretty interesting.'

'Too bad it's all useless data.'

When he checked the group chat again, he finally understood why everyone was asking how he'd done it.

It wasn't because they thought he was amazing. They all knew the client was Gu Jiansheng, who was famous for his good temper. For him to give a one-star review was incredibly rare; for him to add "Bad review. No explanation." was even more so.

Jiang Zuo had no desire to explain, but he typed a reply anyway: "Just being willful. No explanation."

The chat immediately exploded, with everyone spamming emojis of worship toward the "boss."

Jiang Zuo thought with a grin, 'This world is still pretty interesting, isn't it?'

'It wasn't a wasted trip back.'

Just then, Jiang Zuo's order was ready. He collected the herbs and prepared to leave.

Just as he reached the door, a figure came barreling toward him. Jiang Zuo frowned, took two steps back, and dodged to the side.

He managed to avoid the collision.

Jiang Zuo got a better look and saw it was a girl.

She was a young girl with her hair in two pigtails. She was pleasant-looking enough, but she seemed incredibly reckless.

"Sorry, I'm so sorry! I'm in a rush to pick up some medicine. Sorry!" Without waiting for Jiang Zuo's response, the girl ran to the counter.

Jiang Zuo shook his head, not bothering to make an issue of it.

However, he had only taken two steps when he was called out to. "Wait! You, by the door! Hold on a second."

Jiang Zuo turned and saw it was the same girl who had nearly run into him.

"What is it?"

"They only had one last portion of one of the herbs, and you just bought it," the girl said. "Could you please sell it to me? I'll pay double!"

Jiang Zuo ignored her and turned to leave.

'They already said it was the last of it. Why would I sell it?'

"Hey, wait! I'll pay triple! That herb is expensive, so triple is a lot of money! You can try your luck at other pharmacies; you might find it. I need this to save someone's life!"

Jiang Zuo didn't even turn his head. 'So the herb is that rare, huh?'

'All the more reason not to sell it. If she has so much money, she can go try her own luck.'

'She needs it to save a life, but I need it to raise my Cultivation. Trying to get by in Division Two without enough Cultivation is a death wish.'

"Stop right there! Do you have any idea who you're ignoring?"
