Jane watched with some confusion as Zachary Sullivan walked out the door. A moment later, Drew Thorne sauntered in. Jane was stunned, but a smile touched her lips as she jogged over and threw herself into his arms.
"What are you doing here?"
She and Drew had just been texting before she arrived. Jane knew very well that his company was swamped with work lately.
That was why she hadn't told him about this. To think that Drew would actually come find her was a pleasant surprise.
Drew took Jane's cold little hand and naturally tucked it into his coat pocket.
"I missed you, so I came to see you."
Zachary Sullivan walked back in, his face darkening at the sight of the lovebirds being all over each other. He couldn't help but roll his eyes.
"Alright, let's talk inside. Aren't you cold standing in the doorway?"
The weather in Aethelgard was gradually warming up, but it was still quite cold. Jane looped her arm through Drew's and walked straight into the villa.
