Chapter 4 - CHAPTER 4: BETRAYAL AND TRUTH

The next day, Sienna walked into Luca's office at 7 AM, before anyone else arrived. He was already there, looking like he hadn't slept at all, two coffee cups were on his desk.

"You came early," he said, gesturing to the coffee. "Black, two sugars. Right?"

The fact that he'd remembered made her chest tight and melted her heart. "We need to talk right now."

"I know." He said moving around the desk, but didn't touch her. "Marco asked you to bug my office."

She shouldn't have been surprised he knew. "How—"

"Because that's exactly what I'd do if I were him. He knows you're close to me now, perfect opportunity."

His eyes met hers. "The question is, are you going to do it?"

Sienna pulled the listening device from her purse, set it on his desk. "No. I'm not."

Something in Luca's expression shifted. relief, surprise or.. let's say, hope.

"Why not?"

"Because—" She took a breath. "Because I need to tell you the truth. About who I really am."

"I already know who you are, Sienna."

"No. You don't." Her hands were shaking. "My real name is Sienna Castellano. Three years ago, my only brother– Danny, was sent to prison for murder. He died there six months into his sentence. I found out that you were responsible for it, that you ordered the hit Danny took the fall for."

Luca went very still. "Castellano. Danny Castellano."

"You remember him." she said in resentment and watery eyes.

"I remember the case. But Sienna—" He moved closer. "I didn't order that hit, I didn't even know about it until it was done."

"Then… who did?"

He slowly turned back to his desk.

"Marco." He pulled a file from his desk drawer, the same one he'd left on her desk weeks ago. "This is everything I've gathered on your brother's case. Marco hired Danny to kill a Russian operative who was interfering with Marco's side operations—operations that I never authorized. When Danny got caught, Marco fed information to the prosecutors to ensure he went down alone."

Sienna's vision blurred as she looked through the documents. Police reports, wire transfers, emails. All pointing to the same Marco who hired her.

"I came here to destroy you," she whispered. "I was going to get close, gather evidence, and burn your entire empire to the ground making sure you burn with it."

"I know."

Her head snapped up. "What….and..why?" she stuttered

"I've known who you were since before I hired you." Luca's expression was calm. "I ran a background check the moment Marco mentioned your name. Found the connection to Danny. I knew exactly why you were here."

The betrayal hit like a physical blow. "You knew?, this whole time, you knew, and you..and you just—" She couldn't finish, she just stood there with shock written all over her face. The weekend, the sex, all of it had been manipulation, how did she not see it coming.

"I knew who you were," Luca said quietly. "But I didn't know *you*. And everything between us—every touch, every word—that was real, Sienna. I swear to you."

"No, no no I… I don't believe you." she yelled, still trying to wrap her head around everything.

"Then don't." He stepped closer, voice rough. "But believe this—I'm falling in love with you. Maybe I have been since the moment you walked into my office and looked at me like you wanted to kill me and fuck me in equal measure."

Her breath caught. "What are you–" she muttered in disappointment or maybe anger.

"I know it's insane. I know we started this all wrong. But I don't care anymore." His hands framed her face. "Stay. Help me take down Marco. Help me get.. let's get justice for your brother. And then—"

"And then what?" She'd cut him off.

"And then let me spend the rest of my life proving you didn't make a mistake choosing me."

Instead of walking away like a normal person would in that situation, Sienna kissed him.

It was different from their other kisses—desperate, almost violent. She just poured three years of grief and anger and unexpected love into it. Luca responded in kind, backing her against the desk, lifting her onto it.

His hands were already pushing up her skirt, fingers finding her wet and ready. "You're mine, Sienna. Say it."

"I'm not anyone's."

He paused, looked at her,. looking surprised.

"I decide who I want, not the other way round" she naughtily said.

He grabbed her again, this time more fierce, unzipping his pants, he freed himself, and thrust inside her in one smooth motion. No condom this time—they were past that, past caution, past everything but need.

Sienna wrapped her legs around him, nails digging into his shoulders as he fucked her hard against the desk. The edge bit into her thighs. Papers scattered. She didn't care–they didn't care.

"I love you," Luca groaned. "Fuck, Sienna, I love you."

"I love you too and I hate it," she gasped. "God help me,."

They came together, his name on her lips, her name on his, and for a moment everything else fell away.

After, still tangled together, breathing hard, Luca pressed his forehead to hers.

"We're going to take him down," he said. "Marco pays for what he did to Danny. To you. To everyone."

"How?"

"You go to your meeting with him tonight. Tell him you planted the bug. Feed him false information about my operations—information I'll give you. He'll make his move, and when he does, we'll have everything we need to destroy him."

"He'll kill me if he finds out I'm working with you."

"He won't find out. And even if he does—" Luca's arms tightened around her. "—he'll have to go through me first. I always protect what's mine, Sienna and you are mine."

---

That night, Sienna met Marco at a warehouse on the South Side. Her wire was hidden in her bra, courtesy of Luca's tech guy.

"Did you plant it?" Marco asked without preamble.

"Yes. In his desk drawer. He'll never find it."

Marco's smile was cold. "Good girl. What have you learned?"

Sienna fed him the information Luca had prepared—false details about a shipment coming in from Miami, vulnerabilities in Luca's security, tensions with the other families.

"This is perfect," Marco said. "With this information, I can make my move within the week."

"What move?"

"A coup. I'm taking over his operations. And you're going to help me."

"How?"

Marco stepped closer, and Sienna forced herself not to flinch. "Luca trusts you now. You've been fucking him, haven't you?"

She kept her expression calm and neutral. "That's none of your business." she smirked.

" I know. It is when I need you to keep him distracted. Next Friday, there's a meeting at his club. Make sure he's there. Make sure he's... occupied." His hand touched her face, and her skin crawled. "Can you do that?"

"Yes." She muttered.

"Good. After all this is done, you'll have a place in my organization. I take care of people who are loyal to me."

" Yea.. seems like you all do" she said almost silently.

As soon as she left, she called Luca. "I've got it. Everything. Time, place, plan."

"Come to my place. Now."

She found him pacing his penthouse, tension radiating from every line of his body. The moment she walked in, he pulled her into his arms.

"Are you okay?" he asked.

"I'm fine. He believed everything."

"Good." Luca pulled back enough to look at her. "Friday night. That's when he moves. We have four days to prepare."

"What do we do until then?"

His hand slid into her hair. "We plan. We prepare. And—" He kissed her deeply. "—we make the most of the time we have. Because after Friday, everything changes."

They made love that night with an urgency that bordered on desperation. Luca took his time, kissing every inch of her skin, whispering promises in Italian.

When he finally entered her, it was slow and deep, their eyes locked.

"Whatever happens," he said, "you're mine. We're in this together, okay?."

"Together," she agreed.

They moved in sync, building toward release. When Sienna came, it was with tears on her cheeks—from pleasure, from fear, from love.

Luca followed her over the edge, groaning her name, holding her like she was the only solid thing in his world.

After, wrapped in his arms, Sienna stared at the ceiling and tried not to think about all the ways this could go wrong.

"I'm scared," she admitted quietly.

"Me too."

"What if something happens to you?" She asked quietly.

"It won't."

"But what if it does?" she turned to him.

Luca turned her to face him. "Then you burn Marco's world to the ground. You take everything from him. You make him pay for Danny, for me, for everyone. Promise me."

"Luca?"

"Promise me, Sienna."

"I promise, just in works though."

They both giggled.

He kissed her forehead. "Good. Now get some sleep. We have a war to prepare for."

But neither of them slept much that night. They made love twice more, like why..??, desperate and claiming, like they were trying to brand themselves on each other's souls.

Because in four days, they'd face Marco.

And only one of them would walk away.
