Chapter 1 - Chapter 1 : The Alpha’s Enemy Mate

In a battle between the two immortal races, an Alpha stood tall in the midst of war. He had transformed into a white werewolf and was mercilessly attacking the vampires. The battle was inevitable.

Suddenly, his sense of smell was filled with the scent of vanilla mixed with refreshing mint.

"Mate... Mate!" cried his wolf—Frederick.

Alpha Andreas, who had not yet transformed into a human, agreed. He then scanned his surroundings, searching for the woman he should have found long ago.

Mate, where are you? thought Alpha Andreas.

Frederick then jumped onto a fallen tree after he managed to decapitate the vampire. The leader of the Black Moon pack exuded an aura of dominance and charisma. He wore special black combat attire with his face covered by a golden mask, which did not hinder him in battle. This made Frederick, who had a large body, greatly feared by his people. Frederick then let out a long roar, which was immediately followed by his other werewolf troops.

In front of him, 200 meters away, he saw a woman standing next to a middle-aged man who was unleashing his technique.

"That's our mate, Frederick. You must take her to our pack immediately," said Alpha Andreas firmly.

"Yes, I understand that."

But seeing the situation pushing the werewolf army further back, Frederick roared again, as if not allowing them to die before putting up maximum resistance. Suddenly, an additional army of one hundred from his friend's pack arrived—Alpha Daniel.

Frederick glanced at his fellow wolf. They then continued to fight, tearing, pouncing, and destroying the vampires.

In his heart, Alpha Andreas felt challenged; finally, he could meet his mate. Even though it was a meeting he had never imagined. But his long wait had paid off. His mate was still alive, and that fact alone made him happy.

Yes, Alpha Andreas was also a werewolf who was deeply attached to and longed for a mate. Perhaps he was the Alpha who had been searching for his mate the most, from the beginning until now. His search had been going on for 10 years since he was appointed Alpha. And his decision was clear: once they were together, he would not hesitate to mark his mate.

In the midst of Frederick's steps, Alpha Andreas realized that his mate was stepping back with the others. They were heading into the forest. His mate was even riding a horse quickly. This made Alpha Andreas feel bewildered. Fate had brought them to something he never expected, they were enemies. But the Moon Goddess had destined them to have a bond with each other.

If that was the case, then Alpha Andreas would gladly accept it. Frederick the wolf continued to chase his mate, until when they were close enough, Frederick jumped and pounced on the horse with his sharp claws. This caused the horse to swerve sharply and his mate to lose her balance.

However, Andreas quickly transformed back into human form. He caught his mate's body before it hit the ground and carried her bravely. His mate looked shocked. Her hazel eyes met Andreas' blue eyes. His mate unconsciously wrapped her arms around Andreas' neck.

"Are you enjoying your role as my enemy even though you have a bond with me?" Andreas said in a deep voice. He could see his mate's beautiful face growing more and more shocked, and that was the thing he liked most recently. He didn't even want to lose control because his mate's scent was really wafting and made him want to mark her immediately.

"Let me go!" For the first time, his mate spoke and said firmly.

Andreas put his mate down. His mate looked incredulous at what had just happened.

"You heard me. You should understand that in the end, you have to be part of my pack," Andreas said honestly. His mate was left behind from the line of vampires and witches who were knocked back. So, was his mate really a descendant of the witch clan?

"I don't want to be your mate."

Those words made Andreas freeze. Hearing that, Andreas then said.

"Do you intend to leave me and live as a vampire's mate? Tell me," Andreas said emphatically. Andreas even grabbed his mate's hand. He held the woman's body back from moving away from him.

Andreas' gaze accidentally fell on his mate's hand, which was wearing a blue bracelet made of jade. Andreas was immediately startled and stared at his mate in disbelief.

"You... Laura Grace."

His mate immediately glared angrily and released Andreas's grip.

"I don't want to be with you, Alpha. Whatever fate has chosen for you, it means nothing to me. Just reject me as your mate."

It felt like a large rock had hit Alpha Andreas' chest, making it feel tight. For some reason, his heart ached. But Alpha Andreas tried to control himself and appeared normal.

"Really? Then what about this jade bracelet, Laura? You say you want to reject me, hide the fact that you are my mate, but you still wear that bracelet."

"You don't understand, Alpha Andreas. I did intend to return it to you." Laura then opened the bracelet and gave it to Andreas. "I'm not the Laura you used to know," said Laura.

The wizard king, known as an ally of the vampires, appeared between them instantly.

"I will break your bond, Alpha. You'd better try to find a replacement mate. My student Laura will never be part of the werewolves."

"How presumptuous! Realize it, King Phillipe, you will not win against me."

"We'll see about that, Alpha."

Before Andreas could stop his mate, a thick fog suddenly appeared between them. And in an instant, his mate disappeared into the thick fog. His elegant woman left him.

Andreas stared at the blue jade bracelet, then laughed bitterly as he looked around.

How could he, who was feared by all the packs, have to submit to a fate that made him suffer?

Andreas then smiled slightly, his mind now filled with thoughts of kidnapping his mate, Laura Grace.

"Thank you for waiting for me, Mate. I promise, when the time comes, you will be in my arms and you will not be able to escape my power."

Andreas grinned slyly. He then headed towards Alpha Daniel. The war was over, bringing victory to the werewolves. The vampires had to retreat under the leadership of the vampire elders.

"I will gladly await the arrival of Vampire King Erick from his power refinement," said Andreas before finally leaving the border area.

Andreas placed the blue jade bracelet in a box. He then stored it in his desk drawer. Shortly thereafter, a man dressed in purple robes entered the room. The man saluted Andreas.

"Good evening, Alpha. I apologize for my late arrival. I was trying to stop the Rogue attack on my way here."

"Sit down," Andreas said briefly. The man obeyed and sat down in front of him.

"So, do you understand why I called you here?" asked Andreas.

"Yes, Alpha. It is an honor to work with you. I, Jackson, will not disappoint you or betray you." The man then placed his hat on the table. In the middle of his forehead was a purple star-shaped mark.

"Thank you, Jackson. Then I want you to find out if Laura Grace is really my destined mate. Then what about the prediction of our future relationship? Will she be okay? To be honest, she's not a new person to me. I've known her for a long time." Andreas sighed heavily, then leaned back in his chair and looked seriously at the male wizard.

The male wizard then said, "Okay. I will investigate it, Alpha." Jackson closed his eyes and recited a spell. A few moments later, his forehead, marked with a star, emitted a glowing purple light. Andreas waited calmly. Finally, Jackson opened his eyes and looked at Andreas with a worried expression.

"Alpha, something bad will happen if you really bind her as your mate. The Immortal law will become unbalanced once your binding takes place. Creatures that should not appear will cause destruction in your territory. Please do not continue, Alpha!" Jackson explained, then without warning he immediately knelt at Andreas' feet. Realizing that the danger would truly befall them and kill them all.

"From now on, don't talk about it in front of me again." Andreas stood up and stepped back to look at the window of his room. His hands were behind his back. His gaze became deep. He thought about Jackson's words forbidding him to be with his mate. Andreas was silent for a moment, then he said:

"This pack will not collapse or suffer damage as long as I am in charge. Neither the kingdom nor my lover will I relinquish. If the laws of the Immortals apply to me, then let me fight against those laws."

Andreas asked Jackson to leave the room afterward. He wanted to be alone. To think about the impact of his union with Laura when it happened. Regarding his mate, Andreas would not simply let Laura go.
