Chapter 3 - Chapter 3. A Kiss For The Ice Princess.

Miller gave himself a mental kick for being an 'ass'. The princess was tougher than he had imagined. Things most definitely hadn't gone per his plans. He might as well forget about her all together or start all over again and he sure as hell wasn't going to give up. He'll pay another visit to her apartment in the evening. Right now, he's got more pressing issues to settle.

It's been six weeks and Miller still hadn't been successful in his quest to tame the redhead who stirs his interest. He had done everything in his power to get her to at least look his way even once but to no avail. He isn't much of a believer especially, ever since his wife passed away in a motor accident six years earlier, with her lover, while eloping with him. He was left with his six month old daughter, Kendra. He had ever since lost respect and total interest in women in general until the redhead moved in. Then, everything changed. Initially, he attributed his attraction to the redhead was because of his almost nonexistent sex life. So, he went the extra mile to remedy that only to come back to square one! What he feels for the redhead is more than a physical attraction. He feels her presence before seeing her. And, it's getting on his nerves. He needs a distraction from all of these emotions and what perfect distraction can be more potent than Kendra! His six year old daughter is the center of his world. When she's around, his attention cannot be dragged by anything or anyone and most especially, not some redhead neighbor who managed to get under his skin.

"Daddy! Come meet Sammy!" Kendra called out to her daddy from the science fiction section of the library. She was currently scratching a dog's head. "Kendra!" Miller quickly moved towards his daughter but froze momentarily when he saw the object of his fantasy....Alejandra. She was on her knee, holding Kendra's backpack while she played with Sammy. Miller closed the gap between them in two strides, bent to pat the dog on it's back. The dog in turn wagged it's tail in approval. "He's pretty, isn't it, daddy?" Kendra addressed her father. "It sure is a pretty thing, but my baby's the prettiest of all" Miller replied and his daughter giggled with pleasure. "Alejandra, my daddy's the most handsome of all" Kendra told her. " Hi, miss Cole. It's been a while " Miller nodded at Alejandra. "You know her, daddy?...." Kendra ask then added, "can I go play with Sammy at her place sometime?" Now, Miller just loved that idea but, he didn't like his daughter growing fond and attached to a woman and a dog who were strictly out of bounds. "Honey, I don't think miss Cole will like that..." before Miller could complete his sentence, Alejandra cut in. "I don't mind. You can come, anytime" Now, Miller's a little confused here. First, she won't let anyone close and now..... "Are you sure about.... Erm, yeah, right" he finished. "Time to go home, sweetheart. Say bye to miss Cole and Sammy" he told his daughter and they left.

Alejandra's avoidance of Miller wasn't baseless. But ever since she met Kendra, she found herself thinking more and more about the little girl and her handsome devil of a father. A widower, raising a six year old kid. That's a plus and somehow, it tagged at Alejandra's heart. It touched her that Miller took care of his daughter like he does. She wished she were Kendra's mother and Miller's late wife. But, she can't afford to dream in that direction. She had been married and her marriage to Bryant lasted for sixteen months then, failed miserably. Her ex husband had been cheating on her with his lover, whom he had introduced as his cousin, right under her roof! The very day she had caught them in the act, she went from shocked then to furious then to mad! She had launched on both of them in their matrimonial bed. Hauled staffed toys at them. Bryant had tried to protect his lover/cousin Mae from the assault and accidentally pushed Alejandra off the staircase. She rolled over the staircase till she dropped to the bottom of the stairs. She suffered a hemorrhage and miscarried her ten weeks old pregnancy. She however didn't sue her ex husband, she had merely signed their divorce papers, no alimony whatsoever and moved to her current residency. Losing the baby was a major blow to her considering that, doctors do not know if she'll ever be able to conceive again. Alejandra ruthlessly swiped away tears that threatened to pour down when she heard her doorbell.

"Alejandra!" Kendra screeched and hugged her. "Where's Sammy?" she asked and as if it had heard it's name, the dog barked it's greetings to Kendra who filled past her hostess, knelt beside the doggie and patted it's head and tail, the dog in turn licked Kendra's face and she laughed with delight. "Hi. Come on, in" Alejandra invited Miller into her home. "Hi" Miller said and gave her a kiss on both chicks before moving in.

Alejandra felt his stare before turning to look in his direction. He was standing at the entrance to her little kitchen. What will it feel like to come home to a man like Miller? How will it feel to go to bed and wake up in those arms? How will it feel to kiss those thick sassy lips of his? She thought to herself. As if reading her mind, Miller took one stride and closed the gap between them then without words, took her mouth in his and devoured them. Without thinking, Alejandra kissed him twice as much as he did her. Her hands moved up and down on his back of their own accord. Miller grabbed her ass in both hands and squeezed and palmed them. She moaned softly and as if on cue, his already hard shaft pressed hard in his faded denim jeans. He moved his hands through her hair and it felt silky, just as he had imagined. He whispered her name and her nipples gathered tautly as if in response to his calling her name. "Daddy?" They both jumped apart as if they were little kids caught stealing meat from a pot of soup. "I wanna pee" she said with a strange look on her face... like she wanted to laugh.
