Chapter 13 - Mine

Caspian's POV

The next morning came with a restless sun. 

I was pacing like a damn lunatic.

Back and forth. Back and forth.Kiara had passed out yet again in my arms, without giving me answers, but I needed them. Desperately so. 

If there were tracks in the sand inside my tent, I'd have dug a trench by now.

Jax and Riven stood a few feet away pretending they weren't watching me spiral. (No spoiler, they were absolutely watching me spiral and judging me too!) 

"Alpha," Jax muttered cautiously, "you are going to make a hole into the earth.At least change your route, take a detour, may be!"

"Shut up!"

He shut up.

For five seconds.

"You wanna tell us what's up with this Mat guy? Is this your love rival or are we just…"

"I said shut up."

Silence again.

But it wasn't peaceful silence. It was that tight, coiled kind. The kind before executions.

Kiara hadn't said much after last night.She was still peacefully ( I hope so) rolling over, after detonating a bomb in my chest.
