Chapter 23 - Chapter 23: Job Offer

Ellen was still facing Alfonso and two personnel officers in the meeting room. She had actually been hoping the CEO would be the one interviewing her. She already had many questions in mind for him. However, since the CEO seemed to be a shy person, she was forced to suppress her desire to land a job at her dream company.

Alfonso continued to show a cheerful smile as he became increasingly enthusiastic about encouraging the CEO to date this beautiful woman. Moreover, the CEO had never dated anyone, now was the time for him to find a partner, considering he was almost 30 years old. Although the CEO had always insisted that he did not want to get married because he did not want to be taken advantage of by any woman, for him, Ellen was different from other women. Therefore, he hoped that Ellen would be comfortable working at this company forever.

"I see. So you were hoping to meet our CEO in person." A weak sigh escaped his lips. "To be honest, our CEO is the type of person who doesn't like to show himself in public."

"Really? The company is already successful. Isn't it time for your CEO to show up?"

"Our CEO is shy. He'll only show himself until he's truly ready." He glanced at the watch on his left wrist for a moment. "How about we continue the interview? I'll pass on all your answers to him."

"Sorry, if I took up your time by asking unimportant questions."

"It's okay. Everyone's been curious about him all this time." Alfonso cleared his throat. "If you've been so into playing "Era of the Jade Dawn," you should already know what the main mission of this story is. Do you have any skills in writing good stories? This is a follow-up to Lisa's previous question."

"Of course. Leave it to me when it comes to writing. I actually really enjoy writing a story I really want. Especially if it's writing the continuation of Brianna and Duke Jonathan's story, I can definitely do it. Because I don't want their story to end without a clear goal. I already think of Brianna as myself. Since I've always played action dramas or thrillers, my role as a narrative designer for this game is very suitable."

Alfonso nodded, taking notes on all the former actress's answers. "I think you're actually suited to this field, even though you have an accounting degree. I'm actually curious why you're not interested in working in finance."

"When I was in college, I was interested in accounting and finance. But as time went on, I felt like those fields weren't a good fit for my abilities."

"Even though your grades are quite high?"

Ellen nodded. "I just want to work to the best of my ability so I can produce perfect results."

"You'll definitely be very comfortable working for our company. Besides being a narrative designer, we might need you as a model someday."

Her forehead furrowed. "Model?"

Clara looked at the former actress with a serious gaze. "We've received reports that your frequent presence in the game has significantly increased our game's popularity. So, if we rely on you for marketing, they'll definitely be interested in playing our game."

"But, aren't I in trouble now? Later, you'll be the ones in trouble too. I don't want to be the company's bad luck."

Alfonso snapped his fingers. "After this strange situation subsides, of course. Just do your job according to the position we've given you. We'll continue to support you even if you're involved in a scandal."

Ellen nearly shed tears upon hearing Alfonso's words of wisdom. Besides Penelope and Flint's support, she was also unexpectedly supported by Alfonso and the mysterious CEO. Naturally, she was even more excited to work for this company, as it had given her such a rare opportunity. If she missed this opportunity, she would regret it for the rest of her life.

"Thank you for supporting me, Alfonso."

"In fact, you should thank our CEO. He's very happy to work with you. Don't worry, you don't have to worry about any consequences if you get into trouble."

"I hope your CEO will always be the best person."

"Since the interview session is over, you have to answer some written questions here." Clara handed the former actress a pen and a written test sheet.

After two hours of various tests, Ellen was finally able to return to her residence with her manager. She was still smiling brightly from what Alfonso had said during the interview. While everyone hated her, the CEO was still in awe of her, making her curious about who he was.

Penelope smiled in relief as she looked at her friend, who had been smiling nonstop since taking the various tests at her dream company. She was increasingly curious about what made her friend smile so nonstop, even though she had already shared her experiences during the two-hour test.

"By the way, it's unusual for you to keep smiling like this, Ellen. You were just doing a simple test."

"Even though you think this is just a simple test, I didn't expect there would still be people who would want to defend me. Moreover, I'm curious about who the CEO of that company is."

Penelope rested her chin on her hands. "But, I find it a bit odd. Why hasn't the CEO shown himself until now? Why did he have to use his assistant as an intermediary?"

"You might think Alfonso is the real CEO!"

"Think about it carefully! During your interview, why did Alfonso seem to have such a deep understanding of the CEO's character? Was he actually talking about himself?"

Ellen laughed awkwardly, gently nudging her friend's arm. "Penelope, it seems you've been watching too many office romance dramas."

"Of course, I still love dramas with that theme. I love seeing the male lead disguise himself as the CEO's assistant when he's actually the CEO."

Hearing Penelope's rather reasonable words, Ellen rested her chin on her hands. "Is it true that Alfonso is the CEO of Fantasia Star Studio?"

"The point is, if you're accepted into that company, you have to be nice to him. Whenever you have a direct discussion with him, you have to give in to him."

"I'll definitely be nice to him. Because thanks to Alfonso, I'm a little closer to being able to work there."

drrt…drrt…

Hearing the sound of her cell phone vibrating on the table, Ellen took her cell phone for a moment and then answered the phone call from her neighbor.

"Ellen, did you forget about me again? Have you cooked dinner for me yet?"
