Chapter 3 - Chapter 3-Awkward Lunch

Lunch break finally arrived, and I hesitated at the classroom door.

The usual lunch crowd had gathered, and to my surprise, Alex was standing in line too.

I nervously tried to avoid him, but somehow, our paths crossed again.

"I'll sit here," he said softly, motioning to the empty seat next to him.

My stomach flipped. I nodded, muttering a quiet "Thanks."

For the next twenty minutes, we barely spoke. I stole glances at him between bites, trying to appear casual.

Every time his eyes flicked toward me, my cheeks burned.

Was it possible… that he noticed me?
