Chapter 3 - WTF !?

What the f*ck was going on? I couldn't understand anything anymore, a few minutes ago I practically died, then I came back to life then now having to become an ascendant of the fate of God-knows-who. How could life be so unfair to people like me! Were my looks that bad, but I thought I was at least goodlooking? What was all that intelligence for, keeping myself virgin—all for naught! I really wanted to retaliate but I knew better than anyone that choice was what I didn't have. In a pitiful state, I snarled as I accepted this unknown fate.

As soon as I had tapped the yes button, it was as if I had opened up an abyss of torture for myself. Various notifications appeared before my eyes:

"What the fck is going on," I angrily snapped, why was life so unfair! I began shivering, practically intensively trembling. I felt it, my death was close. Tears brewed in my eyes, was this how the legendary me was going to die. Suddenly, as if to answer my grievances, a notification appeared:

". . ."

'Achieving my a*s,' I commented in my mind.

< . . . >

"What the f—, I'm sorry Mr. System Sir, we can talk about this, I actually didn't mean it, it was actually a joke—yeah a joke," I pleaded.

"Plus what are 'SP'?"

Meanwhile a man in black stealthily moved through crowds of people, his destination unknown. Surprisingly it was as if none of the people he passed by could notice him. He turned into an alley, and clutched the hood on his head after realising that no one was around—in the vicinity. If Salus were here, he would have probably let forth all calamities (in form of curses and profanities) he could conjure. That was none other than Dreg—that f*ckin traitor (as Salus called him).

He wasn't himself, at least from the way he looked. Who would have thought that he would also be backstabbed. He decided to drive those thoughts out of his head as only he knew how dire of a situation he was in. He checked his pockets and produced a few hundred dollars and a strange looking chip. With a sneer, he walked until he vanished out of sight.

I was disappointed to say the least, I wondered why I couldn't get to see the other contents of the 'shop'. But one thing was lighting up my mood. At least not everything was going South. A new command prompt had appeared before his eyes, domineering as ever.

200 SP

20 Burglar masks

1 Master key >

I was astounded, I did not know whether I should laugh or cry. Had the legendary me degenerated to a mere burglar? And what is the fuss—with the master key—with how adroit my hands were, I could easily break into the White House. Well not exactly the White House but just get what I am trying to say, the gist is I didn't need most of these things.

Maybe the '200 SP'! I began laughing like a maniac—imagine how I would be with the art of fighting. I'd kick the a*ses of all those masters. But little did I know that my joy would go down the drain. As a new prompt appeared, my anger began seething.

"What i-is g-oing on?!" I dumbfoundedly asked as I could not comprehend the way these events had taken a turn. When had I activated a quest and Oh my God—where was I?

I could not discern my location only being able to tell that this was the place I had... died? I stood up, gathered my strength as I stared at the moon in the sky, hanging like a peach waiting to be plucked. I garnered my bearings and decided to head home. Surprisingly the city was bustling and no one seemed to notice my bloodstained shirt. They probably thought I was one of those rare fashionistas.

I paused my footsteps as I stared at a particular spot under a street lamp. A graceful figure stood calmly, creating a disposition of a goddess in her temple. Her hair was long and lustrous, cascading her back like a river. Her skin looked so tender and created a desire in an individual to look after her. She suddenly smiled as she stared at some stuff on her phone. I could swear it was an iPhone 17 Pro Max. Not minding the people stealing glances at her.

Her laughter was like rain water and it would put a vengeful ghost to rest. The rest of her body was phenomenal and her alluring and bewitching smile just served to send my and everybody's emotions into turmoil. Suddenly a hesitation arose in my heart as a prompt appeared in my eyes.

Stellar penalty: Loss of all points, SP
