Chapter 4 - Bluff

This system had done it! It really desired my downfall or rather my demise. How could I rob from such a beauty that would be sure to leave men drooling wherever she went? Was I meant to incite the anger from all masses of men? Am sure my ancestors would desert me if I were to be acquitted with such a fault. I envisaged all the moments I could have had with this belle had it not been for the sh*tty system that was attempting to take control of my whole life.

My despair seemed to have no end but I knew better than anyone else the pain of losing SP. Who in their wildest dreams would dare to lose such a thing, so precious like—no, better than even the rarest of diamonds. I could also discern that my life would now have to depend on skill points. But one thing that encouraged me was that this system could take me to upper and unprecedented heights, that is only if I could survive till then, something that I felt I had little control over.

Gathering my bearings, I began thinking of ideas on how to snatch the phone which I couldn't deny had a delicate glass luster that kept on pulling me towards itself. I vainly cleared my thoughts and finally realised that I was stranded on what to do. This only lasted for a moment until I noticed or more accurately recalled a certain item in the shop.

This was my only cue or at least this was what I could come up with, given all my heaven-defying wit. Adrenaline coursed through my veins as I fought the desire to not use my SP. Angrily, I requested for an exchange with the system which was readily received:

I shiveringly agreed to the transaction albeit expectantly and so my points were painfully lost.

I was littered with flabbergasted emotions and didn't know what to do. What was all this with the notifications? Was I going to become some legendary talker like Rasputin? That guy was way beyond the limit, he managed to get the whole empire under his control with mere words, obviously coupled with some skills.

Ridding my head of all thoughts, I set my sight on my current project. I had to finish this at all costs. The beautiful creature continued fiddling with her phone as if oblivious of the fate that was soon to befall it. With a soft exhale, I gently roved to the inconspicuous damsel.
