Chapter 3 - Chapter 3: Earth OF Ruin And Supremacy

Two hundred years.

That was all it took for Earth to fall from the center of human civilization into a battlefield of gods, demons, and monsters.

History books no longer spoke of ancient empires, scientific revolutions, or space exploration. Those things were meaningless now. Time itself had been reset—not by clocks, but by catastrophe.

They called it The Great Descent.

The Day The Sky Broke

It began without warning.

Across the world, the sky cracked like glass.

Enormous rifts opened in the air—spiraling gates of fire, darkness, light, and unknown colors that had no name in human language. From them descended beings that should never have existed on Earth.

Monsters with bodies larger than skyscrapers.

Demons born from hatred and chaos.

Ancient beings who spoke words that twisted reality itself.

Human weapons failed instantly.

Missiles vanished before reaching their targets. Nuclear explosions were swallowed by invisible barriers. Satellites fell from the sky like dead birds.

Humanity realized something horrifying that day—

Earth was no longer theirs.

The Fall of the Continents

The war that followed did not last years.

It lasted days.

Entire continents were erased. Oceans boiled. Mountains collapsed. Cities disappeared without even leaving ruins behind—simply wiped from existence, as if they had never existed at all.

By the end of the first month, nearly seventy-five percent of Earth's landmass was gone.

Some parts sank into the sea.

Some were crushed into wastelands.

Some were dragged into other dimensions.

Only fragments remained—connected by unstable terrain and surrounded by endless danger.

These surviving regions became known as Zones.

The Age of Survival

Governments collapsed first.

Then ideologies.

Then morals.

In this new era, strength decided everything.

People who could awaken power survived. Those who couldn't… didn't.

Soon, new terms entered the human language:

• Awakened – Humans who unlocked supernatural abilities.

• Evolved – Those whose bodies adapted unnaturally after exposure to cosmic energy.

• Contractors – Humans who made pacts with higher beings.

• Blessed – Rare individuals chosen by unknown forces.

• Cursed – Survivors who gained power at terrible cost.

Cities rebuilt themselves as Fortified Domains, protected by barriers and ruled by the strong. Outside these domains lay the Wild Zones—lands ruled entirely by monsters.

The Earth was reborn as a world where peace was artificial and death was natural.

The Supreme Beings

Among monsters and demons, there existed something far more terrifying.

They were called Supreme Beings.

Not gods—but close.

Entities so powerful that entire regions bent to their presence. Some declared themselves rulers. Some played gods. Some remained silent, watching humanity struggle like insects.

Each Supreme Being controlled a territory, and no human dared to challenge them.

At least… not alone.

Because even among Supreme Beings, there existed hierarchy.

The New Power System

Power was no longer measured by wealth or intelligence.

It was measured by Existence Rank.

Existence Ranks

Mortal Rank – Ordinary humans.

Awakened Rank – Humans with limited abilities.

Elite Rank – Skilled warriors and mages.

Lord Rank – City-level rulers.

King Rank – Region-level threats.

Emperor Rank – Continental destroyers.

Supreme Rank – World-shaping beings.

Above these… were ranks humanity didn't yet understand.

Most humans never reached beyond Elite Rank. Lord Rank individuals were treated as legends. Kings were feared. Emperors were disasters.

Supreme Beings?

They were absolute law.

Humanity's Gamble

But humanity did not disappear.

Instead, they adapted.

They created Academies to train the Awakened.

They formed Hunter Guilds to clear monsters.

They developed Runic Technology, mixing ancient magic with lost science.

Power crystals replaced electricity.

Barrier arrays replaced walls.

Weapons were carved with sigils and soul-cores.

Humans learned to hunt monsters—not to win, but to survive one more day.

Still, the gap between humanity and true Supreme Beings remained unreachable.

Until rumors began spreading.

Whispers of a Sleeping God

In quiet corners of fortified cities, people whispered of strange phenomena.

A child whose heartbeat stopped time for a moment.

A newborn whose blood rejected demonic corruption.

A nameless boy who survived a monster attack without a scratch—despite being powerless.

Most dismissed these stories as lies.

But ancient beings noticed.

Some Supreme Beings turned their gaze toward Earth once more—not with curiosity, but unease.

Because something had changed.

The balance felt… unstable.

Leo's World

Leo grew up unaware of most of this at first.

He lived in the lowest sector of a minor human domain—where broken buildings leaned against one another and food was never enough. Monsters rarely entered the area, not because it was protected, but because it held no value.

Poor humans were invisible.

Leo's parents worked endlessly. They worried about rations, raids, and sickness. They feared nightfall more than monsters—because the weak disappeared after dark.

And Leo?

Medical tests showed nothing.

No awakening signs.

No mana flow.

No martial potential.

He was labeled Non-Awakened.

A failure before he even understood the word.

The Calm Before Awakening

Yet every night, when Leo slept, the pressure inside his chest grew stronger.

The sleeping god within him was learning.

Adapting.

Waiting.

Outside, Earth continued to burn under the rule of power. Supreme Beings expanded their influence. Human domains struggled to survive.

And somewhere deep within a poor, powerless child…

Lived a force capable of rewriting existence itself.

The world did not know.

But it would.

Soon.
