Maybe she could attempt running again. But attempting did not mean she would succeed. Besides, Youchang's grip on her waist was hard, his fingers digging into her flesh. As she thought about this, another idea came to her. But just as she began to raise her knee to hit his crotch, the world around her spun again as he threw her over his shoulder. Surprised, she let out a little shriek. She tried kicking, but his hand pressed down on her legs.
"Put me down now," she said, pushing her luck, and trying to sound commanding. As a result, his grip on her legs only tightened more. Seeing this, she changed her approach once more. "Young master Chen, could you please put me down? I can walk by myself."
He chuckled, the dark sound reverberating in her body. "Why? So you can attempt to run away again?" The mockery in his voice was evident. With long strides, he began to walk towards one of the cars.
Lying over his shoulders, she raised her head to look at her neighbours who were either avoiding her gaze or looking at her with pity. Now, she had been caught, but she still would not give up. In her past life, she had always given in to the whims of Shujia Lin and the Lin family, letting them control her. Now that she had been reborn, she would make sure to defy them, starting from this marriage. She would think of another plan to escape.
Just then, she was thrown roughly into the backseat of one of the cars, and she bumped her head hard against the window. Her hands flew to her head, rubbing the bump that had already begun to form. She turned to look at the young master who had thrown her. His expression was very cold. She sucked her teeth quietly in anger. Truly, the only assets he had were his handsome face and his influence. He knew absolutely nothing about being a gentleman. There was no way she was getting married to such a man!
She watched the scenery as they drove out of the town and into the city. Then, she asked the question that had been troubling her. "Was it Biyu Lin that had told you about my escape?" She asked carefully. If he and Biyu Lin were really accomplices, she had to let them think she didn't know about it.
Youchang Chen turned to glance at the woman beside him. She was weak, petite and beautiful, just like a lamb. His sacrificial lamb. His eyes darkened. He turned his gaze toward the partition separating the back seat from the driver.
"So what if she did? It is only natural she would try to gain my forgiveness after committing such a grave offence." He responded vaguely. Indeed Biyu Lin had informed him of her escape that night, but he already knew about it the moment she threw her legs over her window. Even while she was here, he had people watching her every movement.
Yang Yang gulped. So indeed he was working together with Biyu Lin. What a shameless man. Even if she had wronged him in her past life, he didn't have to punish her in this manner! "So have you forgiven her?" She asked again.
"Hmm," he gave another vague answer. Wow! So he could forgive Biyu Lin for rejecting him that easily, but he could not forgive her for attempting to run away?
After a few minutes of riding in silence, the car pulled up at a mansion she could not recognise. "Where are we?"
He turned to look at her in annoyance. "Our matrimonial home," he replied, like she was dumb not to have realised.
"Matrimonial home?" Yang Yang asked in disbelief. Matrimonial home? She had expected he would take her back to her aunt's house, never did it cross her mind that he would be bringing her to his house! They had not even wedded yet, so he had no right to bring her here.
Yet again, the car door opened and she was thrown over his shoulder, his hand securing her knees tightly. He strode into the house and threw her on one of the living room couches. She rubbed her throbbing head again.
"You." She jumped to her feet, pointing at him. "You have no right to bring me here. We are not even wedded yet."
He pinched his nose, his patience wearing thin. He snapped his fingers and his assistant came running with some documents. He dropped the documents on the table in front of Yang Yang. Looking at the documents, her eyes bulged. A marriage certificate? Not just any marriage certificate, but her marriage certificate! But how? Did getting a marriage certificate not require the agreement of both parties? She definitely did not agree to this marriage, so how and when did she pose for this picture on the certificate? And it even contained her signature! She raised her head to look at him in disbelief.
"Do you still think we are not married?" He asked, a mocking glint in his eye.
"We might be married, but we are not wedded." She tried to reason.
"Wedding?" He asked. "Why do you think I would want to wed you?" Sarcasm filled his voice as he looked at her from head to toe. Subconsciously, she looked down at herself. Why would he not want to wed her? She was not sure how pretty she was, but she definitely was not ugly. And how dare he look down on her body that way? She clenched her fist, but in the end, she could only swallow her anger. He was far more powerful than she was. And if he was reborn too and was planning to avenge Biyu Lin, he would make sure she could not escape. So she had to try her best not to offend him more.
