Chapter 14 - Chapter 14 Life at the Junior Soul Master Academy!

Zhu Ziyang and Jiang Nannan walked into the dormitory building.

Zhu Ziyang and Jiang Nannan's dormitory was at the very end of the first floor, and they quickly arrived.

"Why am I sharing a dormitory with Yang-ge?" Jiang Nannan tilted her head, asking in confusion.

"What's wrong? You don't want to?" Zhu Ziyang turned his head, a faint smile on his face, and said.

"N-no!" Jiang Nannan immediately denied, her small ears instantly turning red like jade, as she mumbled softly, "I just thought it was a little strange!"

"It's fine, you'll get used to it over time." Zhu Ziyang said, then opened the dormitory door and entered.

It must be said that Anyang Academy's dormitory environment was truly good. Although Zhu Ziyang had never seen dormitories from other academies, he genuinely felt this way.

Inside the dormitory, two single beds, two meters long and one meter wide, were symmetrically placed against the wall. At the head of each bed was an independent wardrobe. Between the two beds were two desks, eighty centimeters long and sixty centimeters wide, placed together. Wooden chairs were tucked under the desks, and there was about a one-meter gap between the desks and the beds. These were all the furnishings, very simple. Further inside were the washroom and bathroom. Besides a shower, the bathroom actually had a two-meter-long bathtub! Beyond that was the balcony.

Such an environment truly surprised Zhu Ziyang.

It could only be said that it was indeed an academy that received half of Anyang City's financial revenue every year; the treatment was simply incredible!

"Yang-ge, how are we going to sleep?" Jiang Nannan was also stunned by the environment at this moment, asking foolishly.

"How to sleep? Of course, one bed each. If you're scared, we can also put the beds together and sleep." Zhu Ziyang said.

"Uh! Th-then let's sleep in separate beds!" Jiang Nannan's face instantly turned bright red, and she stammered.

Then, the young girl quickly walked forward and began making the bed and organizing her luggage.

Starting today, they would be boarding at the academy, only allowed to go home one day each month, and only having a holiday during the New Year month each year. Normally, they would eat and live at the academy. However, fortunately, the academy's food was quite good (Zhu Ziyang had eaten there with Liang Ying before), so there was no need to worry about meals.

Jiang Nannan was indeed a capable girl; it didn't take long for her to make both beds and neatly arrange all the luggage.

"Nannan, you're so capable!" Zhu Ziyang praised her sincerely.

"Hmph! Of course I am!" The young girl huffed proudly.

The two stayed in the dormitory for a while.

"Nannan, let's go eat." Zhu Ziyang stood up and said to Jiang Nannan, who was meditating.

The young girl was very diligent, using any free time to meditate and cultivate. Every time he saw her work so hard, Zhu Ziyang's desire to improve the meditation method grew stronger. Soon, soon! He thought silently to himself. These days, he had been consciously reading some predecessors' research on meditation methods, and he already had a preliminary idea for improving the meditation method according to the Great Bright Art. Conservatively estimated, there would be results in a year.

"Okay!" Jiang Nannan woke from her meditation and said.

The two arrived at Anyang Academy's cafeteria, a building whose luxurious appearance was no less impressive than the dormitory building.

It was mealtime, and the cafeteria was crowded. Besides a few teachers, the rest were all students. Anyang Academy didn't have many students; from first-year freshmen to sixth-year seniors, there were only about three hundred in total. Among them, a first-year class had fifty students, while two sixth-year classes only had forty students. From this, it was evident that those with spirit power were still a minority.

Zhu Ziyang skillfully got two portions of food and chose a corner table with Jiang Nannan to sit down.

The two ate and chatted happily.

Just as they were enjoying their meal, a group of young kids surrounded them. The leader was a plump boy dressed in fine clothes, accompanied by three or four followers. The Fatty clearly saw that Jiang Nannan was cute and came over to make his presence known.

"You're new today, aren't you? Why haven't I seen you in the past few days?" The Fatty's gaze was fixed on Jiang Nannan, sniffling, looking like a swaggering rich idler.

Jiang Nannan ignored him, continuing to eat her meal. Zhu Ziyang, however, chuckled out loud.

Seeing that no one was paying attention to him, the Fatty immediately felt he had lost face, and his round face instantly became unhappy.

"Hey, do you know who he is? He's our first-year's strongest, Zhang Jiang!" A follower behind Zhang Jiang, the Fatty, was quick-witted and immediately turned sideways, proudly saying.

"Go away, don't disturb our meal!" Jiang Nannan finally spoke, but her words were a direct hit, "You're so dirty, your snot is even dripping into your mouth! It's ruining my appetite! Yang-ge, let's go!"

Saying this, the young girl stood up with a cold expression, and Zhu Ziyang naturally stood up as well.

The two were about to leave.

However, Zhang Jiang, who had suffered a verbal attack, was not having it. He directly blocked their path, his chubby face flushed. In all these days since school started, no one had dared to speak to him like that. Sniffling, he loudly declared, "Don't you know, I'm a sixth-level Spirit Scholar, a genius! How dare you speak to me like that!"

Hearing the Fatty's words, Zhu Ziyang and Jiang Nannan both stopped. Jiang Nannan's pretty face was expressionless as she simply said, "Oh! So the strongest is only a sixth-level Spirit Scholar. Then what status should I, a ninth-level Spirit Scholar, have?"

The little Fatties were all shocked by Jiang Nannan's words. Before they could react, they were pushed aside by Jiang Nannan and Zhu Ziyang, watching them leave in a daze.

"Nannan, I didn't expect you to be such a sharp-tongued girl!" Walking out of the cafeteria, Zhu Ziyang teased Jiang Nannan, laughing.

"No way! I was just telling the truth!" Jiang Nannan didn't admit to being sharp-tongued at all, smiling mischievously.

Zhu Ziyang smiled. From awakening her Spirit until now, it had been almost a month. Jiang Nannan's spirit power had increased from eighth-level to ninth-level. This speed was much faster than Zhu Ziyang had initially expected. At this rate, Jiang Nannan would reach a level 10 Spirit Master in at most another month.

Zhu Ziyang was overjoyed by this; the stronger Jiang Nannan became, the happier he was.

Second day of school.

After classes officially began, Zhu Ziyang only attended one class, and then never went again.

What kind of courses did a junior Spirit Master Academy teach?

Literacy, arithmetic—these were the most basic of basic knowledge.

It made sense. For a group of children who were only six, seven, eight, nine, or ten years old, if they weren't taught how to read and write, or how to count and do math, what else could they be taught? It wasn't that becoming a Spirit Master meant you didn't need to learn cultural knowledge; on the contrary, Spirit Masters needed a solid cultural foundation even more. Otherwise, when faced with advanced, obscure, and difficult Spirit Master knowledge, they would be completely lost and not know what was being said.

However, this was for ordinary children. For a genius like Zhu Ziyang, such knowledge classes were optional and meaningless to attend, so he simply stopped going altogether.

So, out of twenty classes a week, he would show up no more than five times. Gradually, he developed an image of being aloof and unapproachable in class, which was completely contrary to Zhu Changhe's instruction to be humble and low-key at the start of school!

If Zhu Changhe knew, he would surely be furious.

Contract successful!

It must be said that big platforms are highly efficient.
