Chapter 2 - Chapter 2: Come to My Guild

**Chapter 2: Come to My Guild**

Makarov said smugly, "Youngsters should stay home properly instead of running around outside. If you get lost, you'll only cause trouble for your family."

"And isn't there a saying? True justice only stands on the side that possesses power."

"But a stinky little brat like you—I can take on a hundred."

Kaito's mouth twitched. Sure enough, walking the night road too many times really does lead to meeting ghosts. After spending a month in this world, he already knew it was a world full of magic, where the proportion of mages was extremely high. It was clearly a high-magic world.

However, the mages he had seen on the streets didn't seem particularly strong. Although he had only eaten the Glint-Glint Fruit recently, he could already display part of its near-invincible Logia power.

Still, following the golden rule that transmigrators must keep a low profile, he planned to stay cautious until he fully understood this world. He didn't want to die young.

"Looking for trouble, huh!"

Kaito leaped backward and took a fighting stance. "Old man! Don't think that just because you're big you can beat me! I've been fighting since I was a kid and I've never lost. Though I don't hit old people."

Makarov looked slightly surprised and gazed at Kaito with appreciative eyes. "Oh? Stinky kid! You've got courage! Then I really want to see if you can win against me."

"Tch~! You don't believe me?"

Kaito could tell from Makarov's expression that the old man thought he was just bluffing.

"Whoosh!" Kaito pointed his right index finger to the side.

"Buzz~!" A dazzling golden cross-shaped light shone from his fingertip.

"Swoosh—!" A golden laser beam shot out instantly.

"Boom!!!" With a deafening explosion, the wall in that direction was blasted open with a massive hole.

Makarov's eyes widened in shock. He was clearly stunned by Kaito's move. Light magic, and at such a young age with this level of power—it was the mark of a future S-class mage.

Kaito felt satisfied seeing Makarov's shocked face.

"See that? That's my power. Even if you're huge, it only makes it easier for me to hit you. I don't want to hurt anyone, and I hope no one comes looking for trouble with me either."

Makarov nodded in agreement, then his body rapidly shrank. In the blink of an eye, he returned to the small old man Kaito had first seen.

Kaito thought the old man had gotten scared and turned to leave.

But Makarov suddenly did almost the same motion, only this time joining his index and middle fingers together and pointing to the side.

Golden light gathered on his fingertips as well.

"Swoosh—!"

"Boom!!!"

A large hole was blasted in the wall beside him, noticeably bigger than Kaito's. Kaito's face stiffened. Walking the night road too many times really does lead to meeting ghosts.

He reacted instantly. His first instinct was to run. He was used to stealing from people and felt too embarrassed to fight them after taking their stuff, so escaping was the best option.

"Whoosh!" Kaito's body erupted with golden light, then scattered into glowing particles.

Makarov seemed to have expected this. He waved both hands, and a huge magic circle instantly formed on the ground.

"Light Prison!"

"Whoosh!" A massive golden cubic barrier appeared in the blink of an eye. Kaito slammed straight into it.

The barrier shook violently. Kaito had no choice but to reform into his human shape. As expected, while Devil Fruits granted immunity to physical attacks, they offered no protection against magic.

"Light Speed Kick! Break!"

Golden light condensed around Kaito's leg as he delivered a powerful kick to the barrier.

"Boom!!!" A terrifying explosion erupted.

Makarov's light barrier shattered completely. Even he couldn't help widening his eyes at the sheer force.

He exclaimed in surprise, "What an incredible brat! So powerful at such a young age! You'll become something amazing when you grow up!"

Makarov clapped his palms together and shouted, "Light Binding!"

"Buzz!"

A golden magic circle appeared beneath Kaito's feet. Countless chains burst out from it, rushing to lock him down.

The moment he saw the chains, Kaito turned into a beam of light and dodged them. But suddenly a giant hand appeared and snatched him firmly in its palm.

"Got you, stinky brat!" Makarov said triumphantly.

Kaito stuck his tongue out at him, made a funny face, then burst into blinding golden light that scattered in all directions. The light was so intense that Makarov instinctively closed his eyes.

The glare made tears stream from Makarov's eyes. When he finally recovered, Kaito was no longer in his hand.

He looked up and saw Kaito standing on a nearby rooftop. Makarov cursed, "Stinky brat! You have no respect for your elders at all!"

"Want to catch me? Come back after training for another hundred years!" Kaito wiggled his butt at Makarov and slapped it, nearly making the old man explode with anger.

Kaito also realized that as long as he stayed careful, he might not be able to beat the old man head-on right now, but escaping was definitely possible. The other party didn't seem intent on killing him either, so he relaxed and turned to leave.

Makarov quickly called out, "Wait!"

"What do you want?"

"Kid, you've got great talent. How about coming to my guild?"

Kaito paused in surprise. "? Guild?"

"Yes, a Mage Guild. I'm the guild master of one."

Kaito looked at him suspiciously. "Mage Guild? This isn't some pyramid scheme, is it?"

Makarov roared furiously, "Stinky kid! Do I look like a pyramid scheme scammer to you?"

Kaito nodded. "Be more confident and drop the 'look like' part."

Makarov nearly had a heart attack. He shouted, "I am the guild master of the official Mage Guild 'Fairy Tail,' one of the Ten Wizard Saints—Makarov Dreyar!"

Kaito stood frozen, completely stunned by the introduction.

Mage Guild… Fairy Tail… Ten Wizard Saints… Makarov…

These familiar words crashed into his mind. He had crossed over into the Fairy Tail world.
