"Leo! Get here now. We need to go through your training, or you'll never be able to become a dragon king like your father." Fivel says to Leo in a commanding but loving motherly voice through their lavish mud and thatch house.
"What's so good about being the dragon king, mum?" Leo asks a little grumpily.
"Being the dragon king is the title we give our strongest warrior, Leo. It's a great honour in our tribe. You know where Dad is, right?"
Leo looks up at Fivel, "Dad left us" He pouts.
"Your dad has gone off to protect us from big, scary monsters. We weren't given these scales for nothing, Leo. We were made to fight. " Fivel explains to Leo.

This was just one of the many daily things Fivel had to deal with raising young Leo, but now he has turned 16 and is allowed to start at the Academy for the military.
Fivel runs over to Leo, who's at the front door, in tears, "Don't go, son! I can't stay home alone all my days. I can't go back!"
Leo picks up his mum and kisses her on the cheek, "mum for us to be strong, we need you to be strong too. I'm just in training, so I'll be back at least once a month to visit."
"But... I... Please don't go!" Fivel says with a stutter in her voice as tears stream down her face, gripping onto Leo's clothing.
"Mum, I need to do this, I kind of want to give dad a good punch for leaving us alone for 16 years," Leo says with Fivel's tears running down Leo's fingers as he wipes them away.
They say their goodbyes, both wiping up their tears as Leo heads off to the academy.
Leo arrives in the early afternoon, where he is greeted by a guide.
"So you must be Leo then?" Bernard, an old butler, says.
"Yes, I am, but how did you know?" Leo responds with a nervous chuckle.
"You look exactly like your father, the orange and red hues on your scales and your eye colour are the same. It was easy to pick you out." Bernard explains. "Oh, wait, I need to show you around the academy. Please follow me."
"Yes, Sir!" Leo says, following close behind Bernard.
Leo was shown all of the areas of the academy and to his bedroom, which was about the same size as his home, but he needed to share a bathroom.
"Oh, and Leo, be careful, the first two weeks being in the academy is hard, but also not a guarantee, if you fail a single test, you're out. Although if you make it far enough, they will offer you a knight role, but that's about it." Bernard warns Leo before leaving him in his new bedroom.
Leo sits on the comfy bed thinking.
"Am I strong enough for this? Everyone thinks I'm strong because of my dad, but really, he never once trained me, nor did I ever see him except for when he gave me my invitation to the academy." Leo slams his palm into the wall. The wall shimmers with magic protecting it.
"I'm not that strong; I never could beat my own mother at all." Leo grips the wall, and his claws quickly penetrate the magic, creating a small hole in the wall.
Leo quickly sees the hole in the wall, "fuck!!! What do I do?? How did this happen!??" Leo yells as he runs out of the room, finding one of the instructors.
"Umm, excuse me, miss? I uh have a hole in my bedroom and need it fixed…" Leo nervously asks the lady in front of her in a very formal outfit.
She turns around, "What! The walls are protected with a Grade 3 enchantment; only a Grade 3 warrior or mage can break through these walls, and there are only two in the whole tribe." She explains walking away from Leo:
"Miss, I just arrived here, and I rested against the wall and accidentally put a hole in it. I don't know what to tell you, but your wall is faulty," Leo yells out, wanting to not get into trouble later.
The lady storms over to Leo, "Show me then." She then angrily follows behind.
Leo arrives at his room and opens the door "see there is a hole in my wall just above my bed."
The lady walks in, sees the hole, and her head nearly explodes. She turns to Leo and grabs his wrist before dragging him away. "We will get that fixed, but you're coming with me. Have you ever had your strength test done?" She asks with more politeness.
"No, I haven't. Mum always said it wasn't a true reflection of strength and to always base strength on merit." Leo explains.
"I see, although a person's total strength can't be reflected in one, it is a true reflection of one's physical strength and abilities." She explains, guiding Leo into a building with a crystal ball in the middle. "Please touch the ball?" She asks.
Leo places his hand on the crystal ball, and a screen fills the room explaining his stats. As the screen flickers, the crystal ball slowly starts to crack and break, leaving just enough time to read the stats. Lights and small shards of the crystal fly away from the crystal. Rose quickly takes a deep, sharp breath as she steps back.

The lady looks at the stats, instantly all of the colour fades from her face, "I... How can this happen?" she stammers out before gaining composure again and straightening her suit. "I'll be looking forward to what you can do, Leo." She then pulls out of a magic storage a book and hands it to Leo, "This should help, so I would give it a good read." And she walks away
"Umm, sorry, miss these numbers? Are they good?" Leo yells out, still nervous.
"Sorry, I'm kind of in a rush, but on average, first years cap at about a stat total of three hundred or less, and yours exceeds 1200, which is my current stat total", turning back to Leo before rushing out again.
Just outside the room Leo was in, "Deputy Principal Rose! We need you in the meeting to plan for the first years, as their first day is tomorrow, and there is an assembly after the first day for the students to hear from the teachers and admin as a whole before starting studying here," a younger gentleman yells out, walking towards her.
Rose hurries her pace, moving to the meeting room, "Sorry, Floyd, I was just helping out one of the first years. I'm going to need to do something about him," in a mid-speed walk with a serious face.
"I see a problem child?" Floyd responds, speed walking next to Rose, with a look of concern.
Rose pauses for a moment to think as she races to the meeting room... "I think so, a first-year who is already a grade three warrior and a temperament to get angry and agitated and bored easily. I'll probably just need to keep a close eye on him."
Leo looks at the book to find it's a book about the last 2000 years of dragon kings, they have had four in that time, including Leo's father.
