Chapter 44 - Chapter 44 — The Starry sky Holy Land.

Mo Yu directly ignored the System's nonsense about Cauldrons.

He carefully examined the Nine Nether Poison Tempering Pearl.

It was a poison-attributed fragment of an Immortal Artifact with astonishing power.

Just as the System had said, it was completely bound to Murong Yi.

And...

"There's a Divine Sense mark on it. We're being watched."

As he spoke, he casually tossed the Nine Nether Poison Tempering Pearl back to her.

Murong Yi hurriedly caught it, looking bewildered.

"Ah? What do you mean?"

Mo Yu explained,

"The owner of this pearl left a Divine Sense mark on it. As long as the poison within it is absorbed, the mark will be triggered. There is an even greater force standing behind the Qin Family."

"This pearl is a fragment of an Immortal Artifact, and it perfectly complements your Physique."

"An Immortal Artifact... my Physique..."

Murong Yi's mind buzzed as she listened.

Mo Yu didn't care whether she understood or not. He grabbed Murong Yi's hand and soared into the sky on his flying sword.

Just then, a majestic voice, like rolling thunder, descended from the Nine Heavens.

"You two, leave my belongings behind."

Mo Yu looked up and saw a young man in white, his robes as pure as snow, standing in mid-air.

His robes fluttered in the wind, making him resemble a banished Immortal descending into the mortal world. He exuded an overwhelmingly powerful Aura that was almost suffocating.

Tall and straight as a pine, he radiated an arrogant presence, as though he looked down upon all beneath the heavens.

His Realm was impossible to discern, but one thing was certain—he was extraordinarily powerful.

"May I ask who Your Excellency is?" Mo Yu asked calmly.

"You are not qualified to know who I am. Hand over my belongings, or die."

The white-robed youth's tone was overbearing and unquestionable.

Murong Yi hid behind Mo Yu, secretly sizing up the unexpected visitor.

He looked respectable enough.

But acting so arrogantly... wasn't he afraid of being struck by lightning?

Mo Yu's eyes narrowed slightly, a cold glint flashing within them.

"Anything that falls into my hands is mine. I've never had a reason to return it."

Mo Yu opened his System panel.

Name: Jun Wuhen

Luck: Purple

Description: A major stumbling block on Murong Yi's path to rise. Aside from Luck, he is no weaker than an ordinary Son of Luck.

Jun Wuhen?

The name sounded somewhat familiar.

Mo Yu quickly searched his memories, and soon, realization dawned on him.

Jun Wuhen, one of the Seven Stars of the Starry Sky Holy Land.

A Demonic Cultivator and a Body Integration Stage powerhouse.

Rumour had it that he was destined for Immortal Ascension.

That fact alone was enough to prove the significance of the System's evaluation that he was "no weaker than an ordinary Son of Luck."

"Since that's the case, I can only take them from your corpses."

Jun Wuhen spoke indifferently.

He slowly raised his right hand and gave it a gentle wave.

In an instant, a gigantic palm condensed within the Void Realm.

The giant palm blotted out the sky and the sun, carrying the might to destroy the world as it slammed down toward Mo Yu and Murong Yi.

He neither knew who the child before him was, nor did he care.

To him, a mere Nascent Soul ant could be crushed with the flick of a finger.

"Wait! Spare them!"

Just as Jun Wuhen was about to make his move, a voice suddenly rang out, interrupting him.

Mo Yu and Jun Wuhen turned toward the source of the voice at the same time.

A figure slowly stepped out of the Void Realm.

The newcomer wore a white robe embroidered with a distinctive star emblem—the symbol of a Starry Sky Holy Land Elder.

Judging by his Aura, he was at least a Void Realm Cultivator.

Jun Wuhen recognised the newcomer and asked indifferently,

"Lou Su, give me a reason to spare them."

Lou Su replied,

"He is the Profound Heaven Saint Son."

Jun Wuhen frowned slightly.

When did the Heavenly Profound Holy Land have a Saint Son?

His gaze shifted to Mo Yu, the child who looked no older than six.

So, he had been afflicted by the Infant Transformation Curse?

"Return my item, and we'll consider this matter settled."

Murong Yi was greatly shocked.

This incredibly arrogant man had immediately backed down upon hearing her Master's identity.

Just what kind of background did Master have?

Clinging to such a powerful connection would save her thousands of years of detours.

She also wondered whether Master would hand over the fragment of the Immortal Artifact.

After all, judging from the situation, refusing seemed rather dangerous.

"I've already said it. Anything that falls into my hands is never returned."

Mo Yu's tone remained calm.

"This item came from an evil Cultivator Family. You claim it's yours... could it be that you're an evil Cultivator as well?"

"The Star Lord of the Starry Sky Holy Land colluding with evil Cultivators... should I assume you're involved in some hidden grand conspiracy?"

"Heh, what a serious accusation."

Jun Wuhen snorted coldly as monstrous Devilish Qi surged around him.

"Even if I were, so what?"

"I'll give you one last chance. Hand over the item... or die."

Mo Yu's expression gradually turned solemn.

The Starry Sky Holy Land had always remained neutral, accepting both Demonic Cultivators and ordinary Cultivators.

Although Demonic Cultivators were not as depraved as evil Cultivators, they acted without restraint.

Even so, he was not afraid.

Anyone who chose the Demonic Path had to be prepared to kick a steel plate sooner or later.

"I'll stand right here. The item is on me. If you have the guts, kill me and take it."

Mo Yu pointed at his own neck, his expression full of provocation.

Murong Yi watched with bated breath.

This little Master, who looked so harmless, was actually a fearless daredevil.

With such an overwhelming disparity in strength, shouldn't he be trying to escape instead?

Master said the item was on him...

Could it be...

Master, if you die, I'll definitely kill him to avenge you!

Murong Yi silently made up her mind.

She added Jun Wuhen to her list of people who had to die.

"Then you shall die."

Jun Wuhen spoke coldly as he prepared to strike.

"Oh, I almost forgot to mention..."

"Luo Suxin is my Senior Sister."

Mo Yu added leisurely.

Jun Wuhen's movements abruptly froze, as though he had heard something utterly terrifying.

The monstrous Spiritual Qi he had gathered instantly dispersed.

Lou Su, standing beside him, hurriedly confirmed,

"Yes, My Lord. The Profound Heaven Saint Son is indeed Luo Suxin's Junior Brother."

Murong Yi was a little puzzled.

Who exactly was this Luo Suxin?

Jun Wuhen suppressed the shock in his heart, and a sinister smile slowly appeared on his lips.

"Oh? So this is the backing that gives you the confidence to be so arrogant, Profound Heaven Saint Son?"

"Arrogance requires backing."

"And I just happen to have it."

Mo Yu turned and patted Murong Yi on the shoulder.

"From now on, if you ever run into trouble outside, just mention your Senior Martial Aunt Luo Suxin's name."

"The number one Mahayana expert on the Tianyuan Continent. Invincible unless a Loose Immortal appears."

"Truly awesome."

Murong Yi's beautiful eyes widened.

The number one Mahayana expert?!

That's incredible!

She'd just skipped tens of thousands of years of detours.

With such an overwhelmingly powerful connection, she was set for life!
