Venessa
The campus smelled like rain and freshly cut grass, and i soaked it in, shoes clicking softly on wet pavement. First day of college. Exciting, chaotic, full of possibility. And honestly? I feel unstoppable.
Hot, thick, confident—no one needs to announce me. Heads turned anyway. Whispered names followed me as i walked past dorms, and i couldn't help but smirk. Let them talk. i loved the attention.
Across the courtyard, two figures caught my eye.
One leaned against a tree, arms crossed, dark eyes hidden in shadows of hair. Broody. Mysterious. Dangerous without trying.
The other spun a basketball effortlessly, laughter bright and easy. Golden-retriever energy, magnetic, impossible to ignore.
I didn't approach. But curiosity buzzed, tickling me like static. I could feel the spark before anything had even happened. College might be about classes, but i already had the feeling this year would be anything but boring.
