Chapter 388 - Noren Academy No. 1

Translator: AnubisTL

Viola's smugness was short-lived.

A faint, barely perceptible ripple shimmered in the office air, and Mentor Clark materialized out of thin air like a ghost.

Upon appearing, he immediately shot a habitual glare at Viola, who was still making faces.

She instantly shrank back, pulling her neck in like a cat caught by the scruff, and resumed her "obedient" posture.

Clark's gaze swept over Jieming, Anker, and Anker's son, and he gave a slight nod. "Everyone's here. Let's go."

Without another word, the group followed Clark into the academy's dedicated long-distance teleportation formation.

A powerful sensation of spatial tugging washed over them as the surrounding light and shadows twisted and shifted violently.

When their vision finally stabilized, they found themselves standing in a vast, colossal plaza.

Jieming recognized the place.

Noren Workshop Headquarters. He had caught a fleeting glimpse of it during the Elite Trial, but his schedule had been too rushed then to take a proper look.

Compared to the teeming crowds he remembered from the trial, the plaza was much emptier now, yet it still buzzed with activity.

More importantly, as far as the eye could see, whether it was the passersby in a hurry or the figures pausing to converse, everyone radiated a clearly perceptible, albeit varying, fluctuation of transcendent power. Every single person on this plaza was actually a wizard!

"Tsk, tsk..." Jieming marveled inwardly.

He had long heard that the top-ranked core planes of the Noren Workshop had already achieved the grand goal of ensuring every human on the entire plane possessed the aptitude for wizardry.

But rumors were one thing; seeing this scene where "wizards were as common as mortals" with his own eyes was a different kind of shock altogether.

Although the vast majority of them were merely first-to-third-tier wizard apprentices, with such a massive base, even if the probability of advancement was only one ten-thousandth, the number of formal wizards that could be born would still be an astronomical figure.

The sudden appearance of their group immediately drew many surrounding glances.

Especially those who had already advanced to formal wizards; after sensing the mental power fields on Clark and Viola, which remained as deep and impenetrable as an abyss even when restrained, their faces all revealed a mix of respect and unconcealable astonishment.

Obviously, even in the Noren Workshop Headquarters, where every single person was a wizard, high-rank wizards still stood on the clouds—rarely seen, grand figures.

The group reacted differently to the gazes converging on them from all directions.

Mentor Clark remained impassive, moving forward as if the surrounding attention were no more than air.

Jieming was equally calm. He had long grown accustomed to being the center of attention as a powerful being, and just as accustomed to concealing his presence when necessary. His mind remained undisturbed.

Viola, however, seemed to have finally found her stage.

She tilted her elegantly sculpted chin upward with measured grace, her silver-gray hair trailing behind her as she walked with a deliberate, noble poise. Though she maintained a composed exterior, Jieming caught a glimpse of nearly overflowing triumph deep within her eyes.

He understood immediately: his senior sister had likely not only innovated with the "Law of Pain" but had also made significant strides in the field of Law Expansion.

Jieming knew Viola well; she wasn't the type to flaunt her achievements. Therefore, her behavior was a clear attempt to harvest the emotions of those around them.

Anker, facing this spectacle, appeared slightly awkward but managed to keep his composure.

His son, Kors, however, was visibly tense. His body was taut, and his eyes darted warily around the surroundings.

Jieming glanced at the young man, understanding the situation. The boy had likely just completed his first planar war and was still suffering from post-battle stress.

Clark checked the information on the magic net terminal on his wrist and gestured to the group. "This way."

They stepped onto a wide metal boulevard at the edge of the plaza, broad enough for giant beasts to pass.

They didn't even need to walk. The moment they stepped onto the road, a gentle yet steady energy field materialized out of thin air. These fields acted like invisible conveyor belts, enveloping them and gliding smoothly and swiftly in the designated direction.

Jieming took the opportunity to carefully observe this legendary Noren Plane No. 1.

It was starkly different from his own Noren Plane No. 13, which favored a traditional wizard tower style, and the relatively primitive environment of Noren Plane No. 147.

As far as the eye could see, the landscape was a vision of futuristic sci-fi.

Skyscrapers that pierced the clouds reflected a cold metallic luster. Vehicles of all kinds flowed ceaselessly, silently hovering on designated tracks. Autonomous mechanical beings of various shapes shuttled efficiently between the buildings.

And most striking of all was the super-large space station suspended in the sky like a second moon, its colossal structure clearly visible in the light of the "sun."

Moreover, since all the residents here were transcendents, the efficiency of many technological creations was pushed to the absolute limit.

For instance, the energy field currently transporting them was accelerating without a moment's lag!

The surrounding scenery began to stretch backward into blurred streaks of color. The sharp sonic boom was cleverly sealed out by the force field, yet the visceral sensation of breaking through the barrier remained unmistakably clear.

In just a few seconds, their speed had already broken the sound barrier and continued to climb!

If not for the physical fitness of formal wizards, the G-force from this sudden acceleration alone would have been enough to make ordinary people faint or even disintegrate.

And the speed kept increasing, soon reaching a point where even Jieming found it difficult to capture any details with his vision.

Relying on such ultra-high-speed travel, the force field's velocity began to steadily decrease after just a few minutes.

Ahead, an even more magnificent complex of buildings appeared at the edge of their vision.

Their destination this time, Noren Academy No. 1, had arrived.

At the academy entrance, two wizards were already waiting, as if they had been notified of their arrival.

One of them was immediately familiar to Jieming. Tall and stern-faced, he was none other than Rex, the Tier 10 Talent genius who excelled in alchemy and whom Jieming had met on the "Justice" plane.

Jieming froze for a moment upon seeing Rex, then quickly understood. The man was a genius in the field of alchemy; it made perfect sense to encounter him here, as they both belonged to the same alchemical lineage.

The other wizard wore a deep-blue, star-patterned robe. Judging by the vast, ocean-like spiritual fluctuations radiating from him, he was also a sixth-tier powerhouse!

This wizard wore a warm, welcoming smile, acting as if he were an old friend.

"Clark! You've finally arrived!" the blue-robed wizard called out, stepping forward to clap Clark firmly on the shoulder. Though Clark's expression remained unchanged, it was clear the two were close.

Clark nodded in response, then turned to his students. "This is Wizard Augusta."

Jieming, Viola, Anker, and his child immediately focused their minds and bowed respectfully to Wizard Augusta. "Greetings, Excellency Augusta."
