The Arrogant Red Rose
In a lush forest, a beautiful red rose blossomed. She was very proud of her vibrant petals and lovely fragrance. Next to her grew an ugly, thorny cactus. The rose often mocked the cactus, saying, "What a shame you are so ugly! Look at me, I am the most beautiful flower in this forest".
The cactus never got angry and quietly replied, "Every plant has its own purpose and beauty."
Soon, summer arrived and the forest became dry. There was no rain, and the rose began to wilt. Her beautiful petals started to dry up and lose their color. One day, she saw a sparrow dip its beak into the cactus to drink some water.
The rose was surprised and asked the cactus if she could have some water too. Despite the rose's previous insults, the kind cactus agreed and shared its water with her. The rose regained her life and felt deeply ashamed of her arrogant behavior. She realized that she should never have judged the cactus by its looks.
Moral of the Story:
Never judge anyone by their appearance (Kisi ko uske dikhawe se judge mat karo). Ghamand insan ki sabse badi galti hoti hai jo use akela kar deti hai.
Ek Aur Zaroori Sikh: The Boy Who Cried Wolf
Ye kahani humein Majak mein jhooth bolne ki galti se bachne ki sikh deti hai:
Ek charwaha (shepherd boy) bhedon (sheep) ko charane jata tha. Boring hone par wo majak mein chillata, "Wolf! Wolf! (Bhediya aaya!)". Gaon wale uski madad ke liye daud kar aate, par wahan koi bhediya nahi hota. Ladka unpar hansta.
Usne ye do-teen baar kiya. Fir ek din sach mein bhediya aa gaya. Ladka bahut chillaya, "Wolf! Help me!", par is baar gaon walon ne socha ki wo fir se majak kar raha hai aur koi nahi aaya. Bhediye ne uski bhedon ko maar diya.
Sikh: Ek baar bharosa toot jaye toh koi aapki sachchi baat par bhi yakeen nahi karta.
