Chapter 26 - 26

Chapter 26 Sneak Attack? Sniper Rifle!

Chapter 26 Sneak Attack? Sniper Rifle!

Parasitic apocalypse, day four.

As dawn broke, Su Jinjin quickly got up and headed towards the building where Jing Ningyu was hiding.

"Based on the dosage calculation of the universal injector, the effect of [Pain Paralysis] should have worn off by now, and this guy should be waking up."

As Su Jinjin walked quickly, she muttered to herself, "I hope he keeps his promise and obediently hands over the weapon... otherwise..."

Su Jinjin's lips curled up slightly, revealing a dangerous, wicked smile.

However, when she arrived at her destination, she found the entire building eerily quiet.

There was no sound from Jing Ningyu, only the mournful sound of the wind blowing through the broken windows.

"Something's not right…" Su Jinjin paused, glancing around warily.

She immediately took out the sonic vibration gun from her spatial storage and activated the [Sonic Detection] function.

The invisible sound waves spread out, and soon the feedback made her eyes narrow.

At the corner of her usual route, a red dot lay silently, motionless.

"..." Su Jinjin narrowed her eyes, "Is Jing Ningyu planning to ambush me?"

In the past, she might have been nervous, but now, she has gained the [Speed Boost] physique bonus, and her reaction speed and movement speed are far beyond those of ordinary people.

She remained completely calm despite knowing that an ambush had been set up.

"Heh, want to play?" She sneered inwardly, but her face remained impassive as she continued to walk slowly forward, pretending to be completely unaware.

Footsteps echoed in the empty building. She walked casually, even humming a tune, as if she were truly unsuspecting.

But her finger was already quietly on the trigger of the sonic blaster, and silver needles were gathering at the fingertips of her other hand, ready to deal with any emergencies.

One step, two steps...

Just as she reached the corner, a dark figure suddenly pounced out!

"Bang--!"

The shockwave from the sonic oscillation gun erupted instantly, distorting the air and causing dust to fall from the walls.

However, the expected Jing Ningyu did not appear; instead, a parasitic variant was blasted away.

It was a wild cat infested with bloodworms; its deformed body tumbled in mid-air before crashing heavily against the wall.

Su Jinjin was taken aback: "...Not Jing Ningyu?"

"Of course not." A lazy voice came from above the building.

Su Jinjin looked up abruptly and saw Jing Ningyu sitting leisurely on the rooftop railing, playing with a toy gun model in his hand, a smug smile on his lips: "I didn't intend to ambush you. I just woke up and found this guy sneaking around trying to bury you, so..."

He brandished the toy gun in his hand, and in the blink of an eye, the model transformed into a real Desert Eagle, firing two shots at the parasitic variant that was about to get up.

"Bang! Bang!"

"I just solved it for you."

Su Jinjin raised an eyebrow, wondering how this guy had dodged her sonic oscillation gun's probe.

Considering the other party's abilities, it's possible that they are the embodiment of some kind of toy that shields against detection.

He slowly raised the muzzle of the sonic gun, aiming it at the other person: "Oh? You're quite considerate, aren't you?"

Jing Ningyu immediately raised his hands and said with a grin, "Don't get excited. I don't want to be fooled for another day. I'm a man of my word. I will complete our deal."

"However, you have to provide toys first."

Su Jinjin snorted coldly, but a hint of satisfaction flashed in her eyes: "You're smart to know what's good for you."

Jing Ningyu gracefully leaped down from the second floor, landing steadily in front of Su Jinjin. He extended his hand and flashed a bright smile: "Let's formally introduce ourselves. My name is Jing Ningyu!"

Su Jinjin did not respond to the other party's introduction.

But her gaze involuntarily fell on his thigh, which was still a bloody mess yesterday.

When seen again, only a faint scar remained on the thigh.

She couldn't help but gasp: The [Injury Recovery] physique effect is too incredible! Such a serious injury healed overnight.

"Is this [Injury Recovery] physique really that amazing?" she couldn't help but ask.

Jing Ningyu raised an eyebrow, a playful smile appearing on his face. "Oh? It seems you've also completed Mission Two?" He took a step closer and asked curiously, "What kind of physique did you acquire?"

Su Jinjin pursed her lips and didn't answer. She wouldn't casually reveal her abilities, and who knew if this guy was good or bad? If it weren't for getting what she wanted in the transaction, Su Jinjin wouldn't care about him at all.

Seeing that she didn't speak, Jing Ningyu shrugged and wisely refrained from asking further questions.

But then he complained indignantly, "This isn't fair! Why did I almost lose my life blowing up a monster's lair, but you look completely unharmed?"

Upon hearing this, Su Jinjin stared at the other person with an expression as if they were looking at an idiot: "You...don't you know the weaknesses of these monsters?"

"Weakness?" Jing Ningyu blinked blankly. "This thing has a weakness?"

Su Jinjin: "..."

She finally understood why this simpleton would blow up the parasitic nest at night.

It turns out this guy has no idea that monsters are most dangerous at night!

"You..." Su Jinjin took a deep breath, barely suppressing the urge to punch someone, "Didn't you even consider gathering intelligence before taking action?"

"And haven't you noticed that these monsters don't dare to appear in places exposed to sunlight during the day?"

Jing Ningyu: ?

"Ah! I thought these monsters only moved at night and rested during the day!"

Su Jinjin: I give up!

Jing Ningyu scratched his head, then said matter-of-factly, "Even if it were nighttime, I thought I could just blow it up and be done with it, right? Who knew such a huge queen insect would appear..."

As he spoke, he touched his thigh with lingering fear.

Su Jinjin rubbed her forehead, suddenly realizing she had saved an idiot.

But then I thought, although this guy is reckless, his talent is quite useful...

"Never mind." She waved her hand. "Now that you're healed, you should make the weapon I want, as agreed."

He then slammed the backpack full of toys onto the ground with a loud thud.

He lifted the backpack with one hand, weighed it in his hand, and couldn't help but roll his eyes:

"Hey, do you think I'm a military factory? You think you can just mass-produce things like this?"

As he spoke, he pulled a tank model out of his bag and then dragged out a plastic cannon.

Finally, incredibly, he lifted up a Gundam figure.

Jing Ningyu: ?

"What is all this nonsense? Even Gundam? Do you think I'm some kind of creator? That I can turn anything into reality?"

Su Jinjin blinked: "Is that not allowed?"

"Of course not!" Jing Ningyu was so angry he jumped up and down. "If I could really transform at will, I would have already swept through the entire dungeon in a Gundam. Why would I be chased half to death by that mother insect?"

Su Jinjin nodded thoughtfully.

That makes sense.

Of course she knew that every player's talent had its limitations; she was just testing them on purpose.

"Can you make these real?" Su Jinjin pointed to the relatively "normal" toy weapons in her backpack.

Jing Ningyu sighed, squatted down, and began searching.

He first picked out a sniper rifle model, then selected several toy handguns, and finally pulled out several boxes of matching plastic bullets.
