Chapter 2 - Chapter 2: The Water Element Calamity Appears, Ye Xinxia’s Jade Feet

Wang Feng's heart stirred as he calmly said.

"Rest for a few days after you go back. Don't do heavy work, and you'll recover completely."

The uncle slowly raised his freshly reattached arm, his eyes wide with disbelief.

He wiggled his fingers—sensation had fully returned. Tears welled up as he choked out, "Thank you, Divine Doctor! You are like my reborn parents!"

Wang Feng waved dismissively, his voice steady. "You pay, I treat. It's a fair transaction. No need for such words."

After profuse thanks, the uncle paid his fee and left the clinic with his coworkers.

With this case, Wang Feng's reputation spread even further. Those who had come in half-belief now became firm believers after witnessing his miraculous skill.

Soon, it seemed the whole of Bo City was at his doorstep—especially the men seeking treatment for "kidney deficiency."

By sunset, the day's work finally wound down.

Wang Feng saw off the last patient and let out a soft sigh of relief.

"Phew, finally done."

He stretched his stiff body. Today, besides [Light-Dark Coexistence], he had also obtained [Bone Hyperplasia]—though its function was still unknown.

"It seems there's not much left to gain in Bo City. Time to move on," Wang Feng thought.

The chance of drawing out a natural talent was only one in five hundred to one in a thousand patients. Most were ordinary people with dormant talent who never entered a magic high school.

"I'm never doing this again," Mo Fan groaned from a recliner, looking utterly drained.

"That's it? Maybe you're kidney deficient. Call me godfather, and I'll heal you," Wang Feng teased with a smirk.

"Get lost! You're kidney deficient!" Mo Fan rolled his eyes.

Just then, the clinic door creaked open.

A monk in a bamboo hat and monastic robes walked in, his face hidden in shadow. His voice was calm and soft:

"Benefactor, this humble monk apologizes for disturbing you. Has the clinic already closed?"

Wang Feng glanced at him. "It was. But since you came all this way, I'll take one more. What's troubling you?"

The monk inclined his head slightly, a trace of weariness in his tone.

"This humble monk woke up with unbearable neck pain. Could you treat it?"

"Let me see." Wang Feng went behind him, pressing his spine lightly. "Just a misaligned sleep. Nothing serious."

With practiced hands, he realigned the monk's bones while subconsciously casting [Healing Light].

But in that instant, a dark golden prompt flashed before his eyes:

[Water Element Calamity]: Can enslave water elements.

Wang Feng froze. Holy crap… Wu Ku?!

The monk's neck loosened. He flexed it, a relaxed smile on his face. "Thank you, benefactor. How much is the fee?"

"Fifty," Wang Feng answered, keeping his expression calm despite the storm inside him.

"The price is fair." Wu Ku handed over a bill, pressed his palms together, and bowed. "May your business prosper."

Then he turned and disappeared into the sunset.

Mo Fan frowned. "Old Wang, what's wrong?"

"Nothing." Wang Feng shook his head, voice flat—but inside, his heart roared.

Wu Ku. The infamous Patriarch of the Black Vatican. He had just walked into his clinic, paid honestly, and left.

And his Water Element Calamity talent had been copied without effort.

At this moment, Wang Feng could feel the water elements in the world bending to his will. With a mere thought, he could summon torrential rain or raging floods.

No wonder the Holy City hunts down the Calamity Bearers…

Suddenly, a soft, melodic voice called from outside:

"Big Brother Wang Feng, Big Brother Mo Fan!"

Wang Feng turned to see a girl at the doorway, her long black hair swaying in the breeze.

She wore a school uniform skirt, her delicate face framed by loose strands of hair. Her eyes were clear as spring water, her smile faint but bright—like a fairy stepping out of a painting.

"Xin Xia, you're here?" Wang Feng greeted warmly.

"Mm… I came for a 'treatment,'" Ye Xinxia replied softly, her cheeks tinged pink.

"Xin Xia, you walked all this way? Are you okay?" Mo Fan asked with concern.

"It's fine. Thanks to Big Brother Wang Feng's treatment, as long as I don't overexert myself, I can walk for hours now."

Her gaze lingered on Wang Feng, filled with gratitude, admiration, and shy affection.

Wang Feng knew well the truth: Ye Xinxia's condition came from the Parthenon Soul sealed within her.

Normally, only a Super-level mage who had undergone divine blessings could withstand it. Yet Wen Tai, her father, had forcibly sealed it in her frail body.

Through his Healing Element, along with copied talents like [Cell Reinforcement], [Dream Weaving], and [Soul Guidance], Wang Feng had gradually strengthened her.

Now, she could walk freely for a few hours each day—a miracle compared to her past.

"Mo Fan, isn't your duel with Yu Ang coming up soon? Shouldn't you be preparing?" Wang Feng asked.

"No way! I've been slaving here all day. And now, as soon as Xin Xia comes, you're shooing me out? At least treat me to a meal!" Mo Fan huffed.

Wang Feng pulled out five red bills from the cash register and handed them over.

"Eat. Order extra."

Mo Fan's mouth twitched, but he snatched the money. Before leaving, he grinned at Xin Xia.

"Xin Xia, if Old Wang bullies you, tell me. I'll beat him up for you!"

"Mm…" Xin Xia's face flushed deeper, her voice barely above a whisper.

After Mo Fan left, Wang Feng gently took her hand and guided her to the back room.

He set out a bathtub, sprinkling in bath salts, milk, and medicinal herbs.

Then he carefully removed her shoes and socks.

Her feet, seldom used, had been nourished under his care. They were like flawless jade, pure white as winter snow, soft as silk yet resilient.

Wang Feng's hands moved gently, reverently, as though tending to a precious treasure.

Ye Xinxia lowered her head, her cheeks burning red, clutching her skirt tightly as her heart thumped uncontrollably.

"Relax," Wang Feng said softly. "It'll be over soon."
