Chapter 6 - Episode 006: Dove Restaurant

Floor 3: The Fusion Bistro - Modernity & Global Flavors

Ambiance: The third floor was a vibrant explosion of modern design, catering to a younger, more adventurous clientele. The Fusion Bistro blended elements of industrial chic with Asian minimalism, creating a space that felt both cutting-edge and comfortable.

Décor: Exposed brick walls were juxtaposed with sleek stainless steel accents. Geometric patterns were incorporated into the flooring and lighting fixtures. Large-scale abstract art adorned the walls, adding pops of color and visual interest. Open kitchens allowed diners to witness the culinary artistry firsthand.

The seating arrangements varied – high-top tables for casual gatherings, plush booths for intimate dinners, and a communal table encouraging interaction. A curated playlist of upbeat electronic music provided a lively backdrop.

Service: Efficient and knowledgeable, with servers adept at explaining the complex flavor profiles of the fusion dishes.

Floor 4: The Signature Dining Room - Classic Elegance & Exquisite Cuisine

Atmosphere: This was the heart of Dove Restaurant, the pinnacle of fine dining. The Signature Dining Room exuded an air of timeless elegance, a space where every detail was meticulously curated to create an unforgettable experience. It was a place for special occasions, for celebrating milestones, and for indulging in the very best that culinary artistry had to offer.

Décor: The room was bathed in soft, warm light from crystal chandeliers that hung from a vaulted ceiling adorned with hand-painted frescoes depicting scenes from classical mythology.

Walls were draped in rich velvet fabrics – deep burgundy and emerald green – creating a sense of opulent intimacy. Tables were impeccably set with crisp white linen, gleaming silverware, and delicate china. Each table was adorned with a single, perfectly arranged flower – a single orchid or a delicate rose.

Floor 5: The Private Dining Suites - Exclusivity & Bespoke Experiences

Design: This floor was comprised of three separate, luxurious private dining suites, each designed with a unique theme and catering to a different aesthetic. Each suite could accommodate up to ten guests and offered unparalleled privacy and personalized service.

The Imperial Suite: Inspired by the Forbidden City, this suite featured intricate wood carvings, silk tapestries, and antique furniture. A private chef prepared customized menus based on traditional imperial cuisine.

The Parisian Suite: Evoking the romance of Paris, this suite was decorated in soft pastels and adorned with vintage posters and artwork. A live accordion player provided entertainment while guests savored classic French dishes.

The Zen Suite: A minimalist sanctuary designed for tranquility and contemplation, this suite featured natural materials like bamboo and stone. A traditional tea ceremony was performed before each meal, cleansing the palate and preparing the senses for the culinary journey ahead.

Floor 6: The Rooftop Terrace - Panoramic Views & Seasonal Delights

Location: The highest point of Dove Restaurant, the Rooftop Terrace offered breathtaking panoramic views of the city skyline. It was an outdoor oasis, a place to escape the hustle and bustle of urban life and enjoy a meal under the stars.

Décor: The terrace was designed to blend seamlessly with its surroundings, incorporating natural elements like lush greenery, cascading vines, and rustic wooden furniture. String lights twinkled overhead, creating a magical atmosphere.

During the warmer months, the terrace featured a retractable roof, allowing guests to enjoy the open air while remaining protected from the elements.

The private room Peter had secured was lavish, even for Dove Restaurant. It was the Parisian Suite, its soft pastel hues and vintage Parisian posters creating an atmosphere of romantic indulgence. A live accordion player, a portly man with a handlebar mustache, was already softly playing a melancholic tune. A table was set for two, laden with fine china, gleaming silverware, and a centerpiece of delicate pink roses.

"Quite the spread," Seojun remarked dryly, surveying the opulent setting with a detached air. He didn't seem particularly impressed by the luxury surrounding him.

Peter grinned, oblivious to Seojun's lack of enthusiasm.

"Peter if you told me we are eating here I would got us a better chef."

"Huh? This place cost so much not only that the founder of this restaurant is so mysterious."

"Of course it is I am the founder of this restaurant."

Seojun's head snapped up, his ice-ocean eyes locking onto Peter with an intensity that made the accordion player falter mid-note. The smile vanished from Peter's face, replaced by a look of stunned surprise.

"You… you're the founder?" Peter stammered, his voice losing its usual confident swagger.

Seojun simply nodded, his expression unreadable. Bao Bao, sensing the shift in tension, let out a low growl, its fur bristling slightly.

"It's a long story," Seojun said, his voice low and measured.

"Suffice it to say, I acquired it… unexpectedly. I love food so I opened it up four years ago." He waved a dismissive hand, as if the ownership of a multi-million dollar restaurant was a trivial matter.

The accordion player stopped playing altogether, his eyes wide with disbelief.

The silence in the Parisian Suite was thick enough to cut with a silver knife. Peter stared at Seojun, his jaw slack, struggling to reconcile the aloof, enigmatic fortune teller with the owner of one of the city's most prestigious restaurants. The sheer absurdity of the situation was almost comical.

"But… but you're seventeen!" Peter finally managed to sputter out, his voice laced with incredulity. "How can you possibly own a restaurant like this? And… and you're a fortune teller?"

Seojun's lips curved into a faint, almost imperceptible smirk.

"Life is full of contradictions," he replied smoothly.

"Embrace them." He gestured towards the elaborate meal laid out before them.

"Now, are you going to eat or simply gape at me?"

Peter was so excited his lazy best friend is something else. Both ordered their food afterwards Peter told Seojun about the survival show and how it will work. Seojun did not mind at all in truth he felt more excited the more he thought about it.

The first dish arrived - a delicate tower of seared scallops nestled atop a bed of saffron risotto, drizzled with truffle oil. The aroma alone was enough to make Peter's mouth water. He eagerly took a bite, his eyes widening in appreciation.

"This is incredible!" he exclaimed, savoring the complex flavors.

"Seriously, Seojun, you have impeccable taste."

Seojun, however, took a more measured approach. He examined the dish carefully, his eyes scanning the presentation and assessing the ingredients. Then, he took a small bite, chewing slowly and deliberately.

"Acceptable," he declared finally, his tone devoid of any excessive enthusiasm.

Peter rolled his eyes playfully.

"Always so reserved," he teased.

"Don't you ever just enjoy things?"

Seojun simply shrugged.

"Enjoyment is fleeting, sleeping, and eating," Seojun said with a flashy grin afterwards he burped out and he wiped his mouth.

The waiter, a discreet and impeccably dressed man, cleared the scallop dish and presented the next course: a roasted duckling with cherry glaze, accompanied by wild rice pilaf and asparagus spears. The aroma was intoxicating, a blend of sweet and savory that made Peter's stomach rumble.

"Okay, now *this* looks serious," Peter said, his eyes gleaming with anticipation. He reached for his knife and fork, ready to dive in.

Seojun, however, remained impassive. He continued his meticulous examination of the dish, rotating it slightly to observe the light reflecting off the glossy cherry glaze.

"The duckling appears to be of excellent quality," he commented dryly.

"The glaze is slightly too sweet for my preference, but the roasting technique seems well-executed."

Peter paused mid-bite, his mouth full of succulent duckling.

"Okay tell me about this Rural Survival Life," Seojun asked.
