Chapter 3 - Chapter 3

Riverstone was changing, but not everyone was happy about it.

Some factory owners and landlords were angry with Ethan Cole.

His new rules made workers stronger and the poor hopeful.

"If people learn their rights, they will stop fearing us," one businessman said.

"We must stop Ethan."

The False Accusation

One morning, shocking news spread through the town.

"Ethan Cole is a criminal!"

"He has stolen money from his own factories!"

Newspapers printed lies.

Radio stations repeated the story.

People were confused.

Some believed it.

Some did not.

Police officers came to Ethan's mansion.

"Sir, you must come with us for questioning."

Noah was terrified.

"This is not true!" he cried.

"Sir would never steal!"

Ethan placed a hand on Noah's shoulder.

"Truth does not need fear," he said calmly.

"Let it walk in the light."

The Trial

In court, powerful businessmen spoke against Ethan.

"He pretends to be kind," one said,

"but he hides his crimes behind charity."

The judge turned to Ethan.

"What do you say in your defense?"

Ethan stood up slowly.

"I was once cruel," he said.

"I did hurt people in the past.

But I never stole from them."

He looked at the crowd.

"I changed because I saw suffering.

If helping the poor is a crime,

then I accept that crime with pride."

The courtroom fell silent.

Noah's Courage

Noah stepped forward with shaking legs.

"Your Honor," he said,

"I was homeless.

This man saved my mother's life.

He gave people houses, schools, and work."

He held up a file.

"These are the real factory records.

They prove he did not steal."

The judge examined the papers carefully.

The lies were exposed.

The businessmen were arrested instead.

The People's Voice

Outside the court, a large crowd waited.

When Ethan walked out free,

the people cheered.

"He is innocent!"

"He is our protector!"

Old men bowed their heads.

Women lifted their children to see him.

Workers raised their tools in the air.

For the first time in his life,

Ethan was loved — not feared.

The Final Choice

That night, Ethan sat alone in his office.

He could leave Riverstone.

He could take his money and live quietly far away.

But he remembered the broken houses,

the sick mother,

and the boy who sold newspapers.

Ethan called Noah.

"I was given a choice today," he said.

"To run… or to stay."

Noah replied, "A rich man can run.

A good man stays."

Ethan looked at the town through his window.

"Then I will stay," he said.

"And I will serve this town until my last breath."

Noah smiled.

And the people of Riverstone knew:

The Billionaire Man had finally become

a man of the people.
