Chapter 7 - chapter 7

Here is the scene where Gemmy sees Hana and Nick together… and completely misunderstands what's happening.

This takes place the same night — after Nick finds Hana crying.

🌊 Night — The Misunderstanding

The camp was quiet… but Gemmy couldn't sleep.

She lay inside her tent, staring at the ceiling, replaying everything in her mind.

Joon-woo's distant expression.

The strange tension.

The way he looked at Hana.

Her chest felt uneasy… heavy… restless.

She sat up suddenly.

I just need some air… she told herself.

She stepped outside.

The night was cold… silent… peaceful.

But something felt wrong.

She looked around the camp.

Some students were asleep.

Some tents were dark.

The beach stretched endlessly under moonlight.

Then she noticed something.

Two silhouettes near the shore.

Close together.

Gemmy slowly walked forward… curious… uneasy… afraid of what she might see.

As she got closer…

Her heart dropped.

Hana.

And Nick.

Sitting together on the sand.

Hana's head resting gently on Nick's shoulder.

His jacket wrapped around her.

His body slightly leaned toward her… protective… comforting.

They looked… intimate.

Quiet.

Close.

Like they belonged together.

Gemmy froze behind a rock.

Her breath became shallow.

Her hands trembled.

No…

Her mind refused to accept what her eyes were seeing.

She remembered something.

Hana asking Nick to date her.

Joon-woo accepting the proposal.

The strange tension all evening.

Everything suddenly connected in the worst possible way.

Her chest tightened painfully.

"So… this is why…" she whispered.

Tears gathered slowly in her eyes.

From where she stood… she couldn't see Hana's swollen eyes… or the tear stains… or the exhaustion on her face.

She couldn't hear their quiet silence.

She only saw—

Closeness.

Comfort.

Warmth.

Something she thought only she had with Joon-woo.

Something her best friend now shared with someone else.

Her thoughts spiraled.

Hana proposed to Nick…

She's already moving on…

So why… why did she still look at Joon-woo like that…?

Then a darker thought formed.

Was she playing with both of them…?

Gemmy covered her mouth, shaking her head.

"No… Hana wouldn't…"

But doubt had already entered her heart.

And doubt is cruel.

It grows fast.

A tear slid down her cheek.

Then another.

Her voice broke into a whisper—

"I trusted you…"

She took one step back.

Then another.

Slowly retreating into darkness.

Her heart hurting… confused… betrayed… lost.

Back at the shore…

Hana finally lifted her head slightly.

"…Nick?"

"Hmm?"

"…Thank you."

He gave a small nod. "Always."

Nothing romantic.

Nothing secret.

Just quiet support.

But Gemmy didn't see that.

Behind another set of rocks… farther away…

Joon-woo stood in silence.

He had seen everything too.

Gemmy watching them.

Gemmy leaving in tears.

Hana leaning on Nick.

His chest felt like it was being pulled apart from every direction.

Everyone was hurting.

And somehow…

He was at the center of it all.

🌙 Later That Night — Gemmy Alone

Gemmy sat outside her tent… hugging her knees.

Her eyes were red… but she tried not to cry loudly.

Her thoughts kept repeating—

Hana didn't stop him when he kissed me…

Hana proposed to Nick…

But she still looks at Joon-woo…

What is she feeling…?

Then the most painful question of all—

Was I ever the one he truly wanted…?

She buried her face in her arms.

And cried silently… so no one would hear.

Not her best friend.

Not the boy she loved.

Not the world that suddenly felt unfamiliar.

That night…

Three people cried.

In three different places.

For three different reasons.

But all because of the same tangled feelings.
