Chapter 2 - 2 first meeting

It was the first day of Class 7. Anna Anderson walked into the classroom feeling a little nervous. New class, new books, and new teachers. She quietly sat on the second bench near the window, her favorite place. Slowly, the other students started coming in.

Then her best friend Emily entered the classroom. When she saw Anna, she smiled widely and ran toward her.

Emily quickly sat beside her, still talking about her holidays.

Suddenly, the classroom became quiet. The class teacher walked in with a serious face. Everyone stood up together.

"Good morning, ma'am," the class said.

"Good morning. Sit down," she replied.

Behind her stood a boy Anna had never seen before.

The teacher smiled slightly. "Class, we have a new student today. His name is Oliver Walker. He has transferred from another school. I hope you all will make him feel welcome."

Oliver gave a small smile and waved shyly. "Hello."

Oliver stood quietly near the teacher's table.

The teacher looked around the class. "Since he is new, someone needs to help him with notes and rules."

"Anna, you are the class topper and very responsible. I want you to help Oliver with his studies and show him around the school."

Anna's heart started beating fast.

"M-Me, ma'am?" she asked softly.

"Yes, Anna," the teacher smiled. "I trust you."

Oliver looked at her and gave a small, grateful smile. "Thank you."

Anna nodded...

Anna tried to focus on the lesson while Oliver sat behind her. Whenever he had a doubt, he politely asked her.

"Anna, which page are we on?" he whispered.

"Page 24," she replied calmly.

During Math class, he asked again, "Can you explain this sum later?"

"Sure," she said. It didn't feel special to her. She was just helping because the teacher asked her to.

At recess, Emily dragged Anna to the canteen.

"New boy seems nice," Emily said.

"He's okay," Anna shrugged. "He just needs help."

After lunch, Anna showed Oliver the library and playground.

"Thank you for helping me," Oliver said kindly.

"It's fine," Anna replied.

When the final bell rang, Oliver waved goodbye. Anna waved back and went home.

At that time, he was just a new classmate to her..
