I decided to become a demon hunter. Waiting for an engagement or a chance with that senior was not for me—I wanted to forge my own path. My father avoided me after my decision; he now believed I was no longer his daughter. Only a month remained before I would officially begin my training as a demon hunter.
That month was the most terrible of my life. After my mother died, my father had remarried a woman named Lu Chin Xi. She never treated me as a daughter and made my life miserable. My father, though strict, could not stop her from punishing me. She treated me like a servant, making every day unbearable. The cruelty escalated until one day, she cut my hair and beat me so brutally that blood came from my mouth. I pleaded with her to stop, but nothing worked.
By the time I left home, my face was filled with hatred—not just for my stepmother, but for my own father. I had no family left who truly cared for me.
After some rest, my training began under my uncle, Li Zi Cha, at the Xiao Ming Mansion—the sacred training house of the Hunter Clan. The place was strict, with countless rules and instructions. Breaking even one could earn twenty-four hours of kneeling on the hard floor. There were no boys or girls in the house—only hunters-in-training, judged by their manners, discipline, and skill.
I formed a small group of fellow trainees to survive and improve together. Among them were:
Li Su Chi – a determined, clever girl with a sharp mind.
Mu Zi – strong, loyal, and protective, always ready to help.
Together, we learned, trained, and endured the harsh life of the demon hunter academy, preparing for a world where humans were helpless, and demons could strike at any moment.
