Chapter 2 - Crimson Eyes, Hidden Hear

Whenever I see him, I like him more. The day I meet him, I want to be with him, but I can't—because we are from different communities. I am a demon hunter, and he is one too. My duty is to protect humans and capture demons. He is my senior, and anyone who comes to Northern Pearl is to be killed—not humans, but demons. Even if a demon dies by accident, he takes its last breath. I catch demons, place them in pixel, and those who are out of control do not survive until their last breath. There is a fire valley between him and me.

I have lived like a girl since I was seven because my mother lived with me at that age. I have special memories with her. She was the only one who truly loved me in the Wang family. My father is the General of the Black Mount, and my mother came from a demon hunter clan. My father never agreed with her work; he wanted her to quit—not because he disliked her, but because he loved her too much. The problem was that her work conflicted with his ideals.

We were three siblings: my older brother Wang Sang, my twin brother Wang Zhang, and me, Wang Yoa. After our mother died, I was left with only two choices: either become engaged to a general's son and wait until I turned eighteen to marry, or become a demon hunter—an option offered by my uncle. He had no sons or daughters, so he wanted to adopt me as his daughter.
