Chapter 3 - Rainwalker Style

Felix wondered where he was. He recalled he accepted the call, so strong that it echoed deep within his mind. Suddenly, he appeared and stood atop the still ocean.

The sky was blue, the horizon ended when it blended with the ocean. Felix did not know where he was, he almost staggered earlier out of panic.

After all, to stand atop the ocean was near impossible.

As Felix was about to wander around, he suddenly saw a silhouette not far from him. He was holding a sword, strangely having similar length and width as the Flowing Rain Sword.

Felix shouted, "Hey! Were you the one who called me?"

The silhouette did not respond and instead took a stance.

The silhouette suddenly danced, swinging his sword in a rhythm manner.

When the silhouette was finished, he repeated the same movement again, as though conveying something for Felix.

Felix instantly recalled one of the effects of the Flowing Rain Sword.

Without hesitation, he took a stance and waited for the silhouette to finish, knowing he would repeat the same movements again.

As expected, after the silhouette paused, he continued.

But this time, there was a grey cloud forming a bit far from him. Rain began to pour down on the ocean, slowly making its way towards the silhouette.

When Felix saw the grey cloud, he randomly thought that once the grey cloud reached the silhouette, the dream would end.

Hence, he quickly glued his gaze at the silhouette who had just begun.

This time, Felix was quite familiar with his movement. He began taking steps from left to right, forward, and backward in rhythm with his strikes.

Afterwards, even though the silhouette position moved from time to time, he was hitting the same exact spot repeatedly without over-swinging.

When the silhouette finished the first set, he paused, giving Felix a breath to take while observing the grey cloud that was getting closer at the silhouette.

He thought. At this pace, there will only be one set left before it reaches the silhouette.

Felix was quite tense, he barely grasped the essence of the silhouette's movements.

He blamed himself for not learning sword techniques before, investing most of his time on his studies.

Just as he was about to place his attention on the silhouette, the rain drops on the grey clouds caught his eyes.

His central vision was now glued to the rain drops while his peripheral vision caught the silhouette moving seemingly in sync with the raindrops.

No, not in sync, it's like his movements are mimicking the falling rain.

Light, unpredictable, and persistent—three words were enough to describe the essence of the sword techniques performed by the silhouette.

T-This is…

Throughout the last set, Felix simply stood on the ocean—central vision to the grey clouds and peripheral vision on the silhouette.

He was in the middle of an enlightenment state, slowly grasping the essence of the dance, comprehending that there were two techniques involved.

A technique involving the sword and footwork.

Felix had yet to learn about them—the names, the exercises, the origin, everything.

Just as he was in the middle of the enlightenment state, the silhouette suddenly paused mid-way.

Felix inevitably glanced at him and realized the silhouette was staring at him. The silhouette was colored grey, he appeared bald and naked.

Felix discerned his eyes and mouth. Hence, Felix knew the silhouette was staring at him and trying to speak to him.

"Rainwalker Style—the foundation of my sword technique."

The silhouette beamed a smile at him as he faded amidst the raindrops that befall into him.

The grey cloud continued to move forward towards him, leaving a chance for Felix to understand what had just happened.

However, his thoughts were interrupted by the feminine voice echoing in his head.

[You have learned the Rainwalker Style.

A skill has been added into your status: Drizzle Slash Lv. 1, Pattering Step Lv. 1.]

Felix was familiar with the voice. He was certain that it originated deep from his mind.

He asked, "Who are you?"

[Your guide.

You haven't seen your status yet. It has been posted, do you wish to see it?]

Felix's eyebrows creased. He was silent for a while before saying, "Yes."

[Understand. Here's your current status.]

Suddenly, a wall of texts manifested in front of Felix, startling him greatly.

[Summoner: Felix Hill

Contracted Weapon: Flowing Rain Sword (Rare 1st Tier) {Summoned}

Felix was silent for a whole minute. He had so many questions on his head, but the grey cloud finally reached him, pulling him out to reality.

"Son! Son! Wake up! You'll get a cold from the rain!"

Felix heard the anxious voice and inevitably woke up. He was currently staring at the sword. He turned his head towards his mother, who was being held by his father, drenched by the rain.

Felix frowned, he did not expect there would be a sudden rain. He tilted his head upward and was dumbfounded that the sky was all blue and clear.

Timothy saw Felix's expression and chuckled.

He said, "Child, I told your parents not to disturbed you since you were in the middle of an important enlightenment. Unfortunately, your mother couldn't help but be worried about you.

Go and comfort them, stop standing in a daze."

Felix was startled awake. He turned towards Timothy and bowed deeply, before running forward to his parents.

Timothy smiled, but it didn't last long when he heard his daughter's voice, complaining.

"He didn't even look at me."

He glanced at his daughter, who was pouting in dissatisfaction. He was speechless.

He frowned. Does she have feelings for that guy?

His curiosity was so strong he was unable to ask her daughter.

"Do you have feelings for him?"

Krisha was taken aback. She glared at her father and said, "How could I? We're just friends."

Timothy nodded in satisfaction.

He said, "It'd better be. You said you'd only enter a relationship once you graduate from college."

Krisha was surprised. She stared at her father in disbelief.
