Chapter 3 - OPHK: Chapter 3

"Then let the Holy Light punish you!"

Grimm chuckled. A rush of excitement went to his head. There was no doubt that a pirate with a 30 million Berry bounty wasn't just for show. But just now, before Fells entered the Repentance state, Grimm saw hesitation and fear in his eyes.

And hearing him mention "Roger" made him think that this guy had some kind of connection with Roger.

If he was connected to Roger, he shouldn't be too weak.

But he seemed to be afraid of something!

Whoosh!

A golden sword light flashed. Blood spurted from the right side of Fells' bear face. Grimm suddenly had a two-meter-long greatsword in his hand. It had a white blade, a red hilt, and a golden orb in the center.

This was the "Ashbringer," a Supreme Grade Sword, the first artifact of the Highlord that once cut the Lich King's Frostmourne in half!

"Captain!"

Several pirate fighters cried out and tried to help. Grimm kicked Fells away and a golden Holy Light storm with a diameter of twenty meters appeared around him.

"Divine Storm!"

Whoosh whoosh whoosh!

The Holy Light turned into sword energy, and one pirate after another fell. Several wounds also appeared on Fells' thick black bear skin.

Grimm had to admire Fells. As the user of the Animal-type Bear-Bear Fruit, Black Bear form, his skin was incredibly thick and his ability to withstand attacks was top-notch.

Fells took a step back, grabbed the spear with both hands, and broke it in half, turning it into two swords.

"He's so good at breaking chopsticks, is this guy a Fury Warrior?"

Ha!

Fells shouted and swung his right sword down. It was so fast that it cut into Grimm's neck. The surrounding pirates cheered.

Even if Grimm's head had fallen off, it wouldn't have been that bad, but his head wasn't cut off. It just tilted back as if it was about to fall off, and his face had a smile on it.

But the head started laughing, making everyone's eyes widen in disbelief.

The pirates behind Grimm trembled. The head that should have been cut off was showing a crazy expression. He was laughing. His facial muscles twitched, and his mouth was moving. There was no doubt, he wasn't dead.

He could live after his head was cut off?

But these were all subordinates of a 30 million Berry bounty pirate. They were only shocked for a moment before they started to calm down and guess why Grimm was still alive.

Everyone came to the same conclusion: a Devil Fruit!

Suddenly, a beam of Holy Light fell from the sky, enveloping Grimm. In less than two seconds, Grimm's head was restored to its original position, without even a scar.

Grimm suddenly raised his greatsword and swung it down, "Crusader Strike," with terrifying power. Fells quickly raised his swords to block.

Clang!

The powerful force smashed through the deck and sent Fells crashing into the cabin below. A five-meter-diameter hole appeared on the deck, with wood chips flying everywhere.

But Grimm's attack didn't stop. He jumped into the cabin, swinging the Ashbringer.

"Help the captain!"

One of the crew members shouted, and the remaining members grabbed their weapons and jumped into the cabin, trying to attack Grimm.

Grimm's movements were simple and direct, with no dodging. After avoiding the first person's katana slash, he held the Ashbringer with one hand and swung it down at Fells. He grabbed a "Holy Light Spear" with the other hand and threw it at the person's head.

Whoosh!

The Holy Light Spear pierced the person's head, killing him.

Fells used his swords to knock away Grimm's Ashbringer and immediately counterattacked, stabbing Grimm in the throat. Fells quickly pulled the sword out, and blood splattered on his face.

He thought the battle was over, but he saw Grimm's greatsword, held in both hands, swinging down at his bear head.

"The Holy Light bless you!"

Grimm laughed wildly, deeply exhaling a few words from his throat!

Fells dodged to the side, but his right shoulder was still hit. A huge wound stretched from his right shoulder to his right stomach. Fells took a few steps back, staggering.

"Oh? As expected of a Devil Fruit user, you can still stand after taking a Crusader Strike. I give you credit!"

As he spoke, Grimm felt a murderous intent coming from behind him, aimed directly at his head.

"No, I can't let you cut off my head. If I lose consciousness, I can't use skills. Running back to my corpse is a pain!"

Grimm turned around and swung his sword, unleashing a cross-shaped sword energy!

"Pure White Blade!"

Whoosh.

The head flew high, and the body was split in half, killing another one.

"Haaah!" Fells roared and charged again. Grimm raised the Ashbringer with one hand, clashing with Fells' swords, creating sparks.

"Hmph..."

Grimm punched Fells in the stomach with his other hand. Fells raised his leg to block with his knee.

"This kid is surprisingly strong!"

Fells was surprised. The kid wasn't tall or muscular, but he was so strong.

Suddenly, Grimm pulled back the force on the Ashbringer. Fells was using too much force and stumbled forward.

Grimm slightly moved to the side, watching Fells' back as he stumbled forward. He grabbed a "Holy Light Spear" and threw it.

Whoosh!

The spear pinned Fells, the bear-bodied, human-legged creature, to the wall, piercing his heart.

"Before you die, answer my question, why didn't you go to the Grand Line!"

"Roger... Roger... I'm afraid of him..."

After his heart was pierced, Fells barely managed to say. After that, the Holy Light Spear turned into light and disappeared. His body slid down the wall to the floor, never to get up again.

[Defeated Enemy: Matney Fells]

Gained 1 Holy Light Point, Gained 10 Skill Points

World of Warcraft Paladin Power: 50%

Apostle Level: 51 (10% Experience)

Weapon, Ashbringer: 30%

Haste (Affects All Speed): 110%

These four things were Grimm's focus for developing his abilities.

The Apostle was at level 51. He needed 24 more levels to awaken into a God of Intellect. Skill points could be exchanged for experience. Grimm had maxed out all the skills he could learn, so he didn't hesitate to turn all the Holy Light Points into experience for his Apostle level.

Apostle Level: 51 (11% Experience)

10 Skill Points only converts to 1% experience. What a rip-off.

Grimm didn't hesitate to put the Holy Light Points into "Haste."

Haste: 110.1%

.....

After this battle, Grimm started thinking about this era again.

He remembered something Gold Lion Shiki said: only Whitebeard and Roger were worthy of his respect, and everyone else was just trash playing a "pirate game"!

Today, Grimm understood what Shiki meant.

In this era, pirates with 30-50 million Berries could do well in the first half of the Grand Line, but they were beaten by Roger and ran back to the North Blue, content to be local tyrants.

It was a sad era, an era without dreams. Most pirates were useless.

Roger turned the Grand Line and the New World upside down, starting the Great Pirate Era. After becoming the "Pirate King," Roger's words pushed the "Great Pirate Era" to its climax.

But Grimm had arrived. He felt that this world would become even crazier.
