"—Fus·Ro—"
A voice from the distant and ancient past echoed in the darkness, like a clap of thunder reverberating through the mountains. The vast, ancient language transformed into a Thu'um, a roar, spoken by Dorothy, aimed at the beast that attacked her from the darkness.
As all the windows of the villa shattered simultaneously, the impact transformed from language struck the beast at extremely close range, less than a meter away from Dorothy. The invisible, powerful shockwave hit the beast, and combined with its own forward momentum, the combined force in that instant crushed the beast's internal organs, broke its bones, and the entire body was compressed and twisted by the powerful impact. Its sharp-toothed mouth gaped open, and its two eyeballs bulged as if about to fall out.
Then, under this power, the beast was sent flying like a batted baseball, the expanding impact sweeping away the surrounding display cases. The direction in which the beast was sent flying was precisely the wall hung with a tapestry depicting the Field family crest. Beneath that tapestry stood a plate-armored knight holding a spear pointed forward.
Now, the tip of the spear held by this knight was aimed at the back of the flying beast, and the butt of the spear was propped against the wall behind it.
"Ah ah ah ah!!!!"
Howling, the backward-flying beast was pierced through the back by the knight's spear, the spearhead breaking through from the beast's chest. The momentum on the beast's body had not yet dissipated; it continued to fly backward, scattering the knight's armor, and slammed heavily against the wall behind it. The wall cracked in several places and then, unable to withstand the force, broke through, creating a hole. The beast, having broken through the wall, flew sideways across a corridor and then crashed into a second wall, also breaking through it, until it finally stopped after hitting the third wall in the room beyond.
This was the second stage release of Dorothy's Dragon Shout, Unloading Force.
The first stage of Unloading Force is "Fus," meaning force. Simply shouting it can release a short-range shockwave to repel the enemy in front. The second stage is "Ro," meaning balance. Used after the first stage, it can not only increase the power to some extent but also enhance the accuracy of its release. This not only allows the expanding shockwave to be focused and concentrated, further increasing the power against a single target, but also allows precise control of the direction of the impact release, directing the shockwave in the direction the user desires.
Using staff divination, Dorothy determined the direction Luer would attack from. Using dial divination, Dorothy determined the time Luer would attack.
After obtaining these two pieces of information, all Dorothy needed to do was find a suitable place and wait for the rabbit. Dorothy had accurately remembered the time difference. Using the ability of a Knower, she could count seconds in her heart for more than ten minutes with perfect accuracy.
Once the location was found, all that was required was to count the seconds until the moment the opponent attacked, and then shout in the direction of the attack.
As for the plate-armored knight holding the spear, Dorothy had noticed it as soon as she entered the house, which is why she used the second stage of the Dragon Shout, which allows for precise control, specifically shouting Luer in that direction, so that he would be directly impaled through the heart. The utilization of the terrain was part of Dorothy's plan.
After the roar, the dark clouds in the sky gradually shifted, and the moonlight once again poured into the house. In the spacious exhibition room, glass lay scattered everywhere, a scene of utter chaos. Dorothy picked up a gas lamp from the wall nearby, twisted the built-in spark mechanism to light it, and looked at the broken hole in the wall.
Then, after applying another Raw Consumption Symbol to herself, Dorothy slowly walked towards it. Stepping over broken bricks, Dorothy passed through the broken wall and entered the corridor outside the exhibition room. Looking at the pitch blackness beyond the second broken wall, she threw the gas lamp with its protective cage into it, barely making out the scene inside by the light.
In the dim room, beneath the shattered third broken wall, a black figure was buried in the broken bricks, gasping for breath, on the verge of death. Its limbs were unnaturally twisted and deformed, and its chest had an unnatural sunken depression. A spear was stuck in its chest, having pierced through from the back, and blood flowed in streams from the wound.
This was a dying "beast." At this moment, it weakly raised its head and looked feebly at the small figure standing in the opening ahead.
Speaking slowly, with blood flowing from its mouth.
"Cough... cough... cough... It's... it's actually such a small girl? I really didn't expect it. Such powerful Extraordinary force... such meticulous planning... cough cough... It's... incredible..."
Using its last bit of strength, Luer spoke weakly, while Dorothy silently pulled out a pistol from her waist and pointed it at the beast, which was now unable to move. Seeing this, Luer urgently spoke, disregarding his severe internal injuries.
"Cough... cough... Wait... don't kill me, I'm useful to you, I swear I'm absolutely useful to you! I know many hidden secrets, and I was also instructed by others... I..."
"Bang bang bang bang!!"
Without time to listen to Luer's nonsense, Dorothy pulled the trigger and emptied a magazine. Luer, who had only a sliver of life left, finally lost his breath after being shot twice in the head, his eyes wide open as he fell down.
After death, Luer's beast form was released, and Dorothy watched as he quickly transformed back into human form. To be absolutely sure, Dorothy used the Corpse Puppet Ring to control Luer, and this time the control was successful. Dorothy made Luer's corpse successfully start to Creep, but due to severe injuries, several key bones were broken, making movement very difficult.
With an experimental nature, Dorothy attempted to control the other party to beastify again, but there was no reaction. After this attempt, Dorothy found that for now, her Corpse Puppet Ring could not inherit the Extraordinary abilities of other Extraordinary individuals after manipulating their corpses; it was still just a normal human corpse.
"It seems the plan to have an additional beastified Corpse Puppet has fallen through."
With a hint of disappointment, Dorothy deactivated Luer's Corpse Puppet state.
Then, she walked forward again and picked up the gas lamp from the ground, and then lit the other lights in the house. Then, she was attracted by the scene within.
This, surprisingly, was a portrait exhibition room. On the walls were displayed vivid oil paintings and a small number of photographs. These oil paintings were of landscapes and figures, with figures being the main focus.
These figure oil paintings included both men and women. Looking at the names below, most were members of the Field family, including the family heads of past generations. Dorothy saw the portrait of Viscount Field whom she had previously met at the charity event. According to the name below, Dorothy now knew that his name was Gerry Field.
The most eye-catching painting in this room was a large oil painting depicting a valiant knight in plate armor, without a helmet, holding a spear pointed at the enemy in front. This pose was exactly the same as the posed plate armor Dorothy had seen in the weapon exhibition room earlier. Dorothy looked at the spear that had pierced through Luer's chest, and it was also exactly the same as the one depicted in the painting. Seeing this, Dorothy looked at the introduction below the painting, which read:
"Yarlin Field, the first Viscount Field."
'No wonder that plate armor was placed in that pose...'"
Looking at the portrait in front of her, Dorothy thought with some relief. Then she glanced around the damaged mansion and finally looked at Luer, who was pierced through the chest by the spear, and sighed.
"This can be considered helping you personally eliminate a family enemy..."
