"It's the king's birthday in three days," Elian said, crossing his legs as he sat on Lucien's chair in his study.
Lucien sat on the table beside the chair, hands folded on his chest.
"We will go," he said.
"We?" Elian raised his brows.
Lucien nodded, "We," he repeated.
"I don't think that will be wise. Rowena will just find a way to give us trouble. It's best I stay here," Elian murmured.
Lucien stared at Elian's face for a meaningful moment and leaned in to take Elian's hand.
"We have given them enough privileges. It is time they start feeling the foreboding, to feel the impending fear they have instilled on us. It's time we instill the thoughts of their ending in their head," he whispered, caressing Elian's cheek with his thumb.
"We are going. We'll be quiet, but trust me, we'll make the king understand that he can't just hide behind his crown forever," Lucien murmured.
Elian sighed, "Okay. I hope this won't kick us several steps backwards."
