Chapter 3 - The end that broke her

To her, first love had felt sacred — almost divine. It was not just affection; it was faith. She believed in him the way one believes in something permanent. When he promised he would return, she held onto those words as if they were destiny itself.

But destiny remained silent.

The distance between them did not explode; it dissolved. Messages turned into memories. Conversations became history. And one day, she realized she was the only one still holding onto what they once had.

When she finally gathered the courage to speak to him again, hoping for the return he once promised, the truth came without hesitation. He had moved on. The love she was still protecting had ended for him long ago. The promise he made was nothing more than comfort spoken in a temporary moment.

There was no dramatic goodbye.

Just the quiet realization that she had been waiting alone.

And in that silence, something inside her broke — not loudly, not visibly, but deeply enough to change the way she would love forever.
