Mike spent the entire night familiarising himself with the system. But from the looks of it, much of it has still not been availed yet. It appears that he is still unawakened.
His body strength is far above that of a normal human but how does it fair when faced with a beast. Seeing that he can't go anywhere from the system he turned in. Much has happened today, from almost losing Nannia to meeting Satan.
He never thought that the day he became an adult would also take such a dramatic event.
Knock knock.
" Enter"
Nannia walked in through the door. Today meant a lot of things for the two. It also cemented their relationship as Mother and Son but they still haven't taken a moment and speak about it.
Matter of fact they never spoke at all.
"Crazy day huh."
Mike tried to break the awkward silence.
"That's an understatement, a woman like me has no business being met with such a chaotic day"
Nannia said in a rather low voice.
"So you could hear and see all this time huh"
Finally the questions came rolling in.
Mhm,
Mike nodded looking at the floor
"Gods did come to you, promising to heal you and much more also?"
Mhm
Nannia exhales rather slowly.
"Why did you deny them then, why choose the life you lived"
Mike raised his head looking Nannia in the eyes.
"I was like that because of them, I could see the schemes they played behind the scenes"
His eyes looked at the corner of the room.
"All humans could see was the performance, I could see what was happening behind the stage"
She didn't expect that answer.
"So what Satan was saying was true about the Gods?"
"Yes, that and more"
She went to him and sat next to him on the bed.
"Have you always held the hate of Gods within you all this time?"
He turned his head to look at her.
"I was born hating Gods"
Confusion struck her.
"Born hating Gods, what could have happened for an innocent baby to be born with such a burden"
Mike looked away, as if thinking about something. Nannia could tell her question struck something in him.
"My birth caused the death of my parents, but as a last ditch gift to me. My birth was used as a ceremonial ritual to kill a God, causing me to be deformed."
"How?"
"The place my parents used to live was closed off from the world. A God had caged 1001 humans in a dome, which was in what you call heaven"
Nannia's eyes almost fell off. Mike continued.
"Of course none of them knew that they were in heaven, to them this small city sized dome was the whole world. 1001 was all humanity could be and nothing more. They had turned to puppets, quite accepting of this fact"
Nannia voiced in.
"But what if someone dies of an accident or old age"
"Haha, you would think so. But in there we were practically invisible, you had a better chance counting to eternity than to die there. You see those 1001 ones weren't just any regular humans. They had the blood of God in them. People from where we come from call them Angels I believe"
Nannia hit with yet another revelation.
"Wait, wait, wait. Are you telling me that you are an Angel?"
Mike, held his chin and looked
"Hah, I guess I am"
The way he spoke it was as if he didn't care about the news.
"So, so are you a God in a way?"
"No, I don't know how I know this but, Angels are humans who were experimented on. There are thousands of domes like the one I was born in."
The more Mike spoke, the more Nannia had questions. But from the looks of it, he doesn't even know how he even was brought down from heaven.
"So how could you hate gods when you were just too young to know your own name."
"The rules from where we lived was, when the young were born the old must die, and just so happened that my parents were the oldest. Unfortunately when my mom was pregnant with me, someone else was pregnant at the same time."
Nannia interrupted yet again.
"Wait, why should the old die"
Mike shrugged his shoulders.
"I don't know, their traditions dictate that the soul of the deceased goes to the newly born. But my parents had long thought this to be fake, they already suspected that, they were in some kind of experiment"
"How did they know?"
"Well you could never cage a human spirit when it wanted to be free. My Mom also started to get visions of the world outside. She would tell my father about, for years this happened till they felt the place they lived was less like a home and more like a cage"
Mike paused for a moment then continued.
"They knew that they could not escape, the place was guided by a God afterall. Angel or not a God is still a God, Only an Arch Angel could do some damage but only to a lesser God"
Nannia thought for a moment then looked at Mike.
"You said your parents used your birth as a catalyst, Even if that kind of ritual existed, the kind of power needed is beyond mere angels. Mike, I think you parents were Arc Angels"
Mike listened to her explanation.
"Uhuh"
That's all Mike said.
Frustrated by his lack of interest.
"Continue, how did a baby kill a God"
"Well they started by going to the library, funny enough, the place was littered with all kinds of spells. I guess God has not once thought their creation would turn them, such arrogance. My Father was already quite knowledgeable in battle spells, while my Mother who was the curious type held all the ritualistic knowledge"
"For the following months, they were experimenting with the spells and innovation on them. This weren't on for sometime till they became suspicious of them"
"You see, while absorbed by their new venture, they neglected their duties. They stopped participating in events, and worst of all the God whom they were under stopped receiving their prayers."
Nannia was sitting at the edge of bed, trying to catch every world.
"By Month 9, God sent a warning. The penalty shall be death in 7 days if prayers were not received. Pressed for time, they started to prepare. They called in some favours for some of the artifacts used. Then finally the day came"
"The whole community was focused on one household, the Silvers. The place was quiet, as if nobody was home. It was the first time in history for a human to defy a God, and it was going to be the first time for the population number to change , and most impostantly, for the first time ever a God was about to kill a human"
"The God came in, in his human form for once, went into the household, the next thing he found himself stuck in a magic circle. My Mom in a separate circle, she was in labour, ready to give birth"
Nannia asked a question amid the story.
"You speak as if you were there to witness everything that happened."
"Well the first few I had my Mother speak to me while I was still in her womb. But from 5 month onwards i heard for myself"
His words had Nannia's mouth almost touching the floor.
"You were aware while you were still a fetus"
"I guess" Mike just lifted his shoulder
"Then what happened"
Feeling defeated by asking him that question all she could do is listen.
"Did you know when a child is born a door opens from another dimension, this dimension is chaotic but stable, ready to devour but tame. Human soul are like that, So before rebirth they go through this dimension to cleanse any foreign energy. I heard that when my parents were studying if you were wondering how I knew this"
"Somehow my Parents were able to tap into this energy, use it as the power source of the ritual circle. And I just so happen to be the one being born. But for that split second. That moment, my mind and that of the God were connected. I was able to see their schemes, how they deceive humanity. How humanity is nothing but livestock to them."
"Worse, I've seen how they experimented on humans. How they forced themselves on human women and that's how angels are born. How they caused disasters so that humans could rely on them. And That's just the tip of it"
"After that brief moment, the energy from the dimension attacked the God as if he was a foreigner trying to invade its land. He tried to sever the connection from the dimension, so he aimed an attack and tried to kill me, Luckily the energy protected me. My father tried to shield my Mother but the blast turned them into ash."
"Unfortunately for me, the energy didn't protect me all the way, the result of what you already saw. As a last ditch effort, that energy teleported me to the place you found me"
