The great miracle or ...the divine intervention from the supreme beings of heaven.. different people call it by different names. But one thing everybody agrees on is that, without it.. humanity and the living world would never have survived.
Thousands of years ago, history's most devastating war had broken out among the humans. This was recorded as the WORLD WAR 5 by historians.
All developed countries around the globe had declared war against each other to see which was the strongest. They destroyed all the other countries under their feet ...just to feel the sensation of winning a world war again. The Earth's surface as a whole had been turned into a battlefield.
The aftermath.. of course was that.. only a few hundred creatures survived, among which 10-15 were humans. Even the survivors had given up hope on humanity. But as usual, there were some who simply refused to admit that nobody won or lost.
Yet... The ever kind fate refused to watch its greatest and most foolish creation, humans... Fall into extinction and do nothing. People say, that was the reason why the great miracle occurred.
Now.. 40,000 years later, in every 10,000 humans, 1 gets chosen by the heavens. These special ones, all see a vision of the miracle, and gain a gift, much like a super power.
The gifts varied by person. It could be of wielding fire, ice, or maybe reading minds etc. The chosen ones had a purpose and they searched for this purpose for almost half of their life. The remaining years were used to complete it in order to attain happiness.
The individuals gained this odd super power from their age of 4-14. Since its appearance, their body would begin to change drastically. For example, it would commonly grow stronger, more structured than the average population. Ultimately they would live longer than most if the cause of death was to be a natural cause.
Rothodile, being the greatest and most flourished country in the present, the highest position holders of all the countries from around the world, had collectively decided to establish a special school for the gifted ones. The students trained here with the guidance of professionals and thrived to attain perfection in their control over their powers.
The students after graduation accepts the duty to protect the civilians of their own countries and becomes separate symbols of justice. The world became more stable because of their work and humans believed that peace and happiness would surely last.. until... A sudden crisis appeared like always.. but more.. sneakily..
