The evening air was still, heavy with tension. The stranger lingered at the edge of the garden, his cloak barely stirring in the faint breeze.
Kaizen, Haruto, and the other children huddled together, instinctively forming a small line in front of their mother. Even at a fraction of their true strength, their senses tingled with danger.
Ryūjin stepped forward, calm as ever. His eyes flicked toward the stranger, but his posture was relaxed, almost casual.
"You've come a long way," he said softly. "What is it you seek here?"
The stranger's lips curved in a faint smile. "I sensed something… unprecedented. Power that does not belong to this world."
Meilin crossed her arms, a frown forming. "If you intend harm, leave now. You will find no mercy here."
The stranger shook his head. "I do not seek conflict… yet. I seek to understand. The stories speak of a family whose presence alone bends reality."
Subtle Power Display
Haruto lifted his hand casually, making a leaf hover for a brief moment. It twirled gently in the wind before drifting to the ground.
Ayame giggled. "I can do it too!" A faint shimmer of light followed her motion, though to the stranger it appeared almost imperceptible.
Ryūjin's golden eyes narrowed slightly — even this 0.0000000000000000000000000001% of his children's power was enough to make the stranger hesitate.
The visitor took a careful step back. "So… it is true. They are even more extraordinary than the legends describe."
The Family's Unity
Ryūjin's voice remained calm and low. "Power is meaningless without purpose. Our family lives in peace, and I do not wish to disrupt that."
Meilin placed a hand on his arm, her gaze sharp. "And we will defend that peace."
The stranger nodded slowly. "I see. Perhaps I misjudged. Yet… the energy you all emit… it is a threat to everything I know."
Kaizen whispered to Rikuya, "Father's aura… it feels so different."
Rikuya's eyes widened. "Even now, I can sense it… barely… but it's overwhelming."
Ryūjin glanced down at his children with a small smile. "Do not fear. They only feel a whisper. The rest is mine to reveal when the time is right."
The Stranger's Departure
The stranger stepped back toward the rift in the sky. "This is only the beginning. I will return when the time is right… to see the full extent of your power."
With a flash of light, he vanished, leaving a faint ripple in the air.
The children looked at each other, excitement and curiosity in their eyes.
Kaizen muttered, "Father… who was that?"
Ryūjin smiled faintly. "A visitor from beyond. Someone who will learn… in time… that even the strongest in their world are like ants to us."
Meilin nodded, her expression calm but sharp. "Let them come. We are ready. And our children… will grow stronger, quietly, as they must."
